****2ND CHANCE - please make it count! NOT RESERVED PROVEN FAMILY PET LUCKY KENTUCKY WILL BE KILLED SHORTLY AT NYCACC IN BROOKLYN, NY!****
ADOPTED 7 YRS AGO FROM THE SAME SHELTER THAT IS ABOUT TO TAKE HIS LIFE…POOR “LUCKY KENTUCKY” ISN’T VERY LUCKY…his family of 7 years had nothing but wonderful things to say about him - sweet, affectionate, well - behaved, great with kids, good with other dogs that lived in the house….but at 8 yrs old, they no longer had time for him. Poor Lucky Kentucky, abandoned after he had given his family everything - heartbroken, they send him to a NYCACC foster (most of who routinely return dogs who are then put immediately on the kill list) - the foster writes he is well behaved when home - but may scratch the door to get out if not home - that’s bec he is afraid he is going to be abandoned again! He might have a little separation anxiety - that can be worked on and crating him when out also helps. They also described him as attentive, low maintenance, and amazing with the children in the home!! Finally mentioning that he is anxious when outside, often walking with his tail tucked - so when he saw another dog he supposedly broke loose and bit the other dog. A lot of dogs are like this - they just need reassurance, they just need a strong leader as their owner, showing them they are safe, showing them that they do not have to defend their owner - most likely what Lucky Kentucky was trying to do. And for that, he is about to be killed. Please, he is good with other dogs, just gets a little protective when on leash. He was good in playgroup and lived with multiple dogs at his prior home. An abandoned senior, cut him some slack - he is just trying to figure out how he is supposed to survive now without his family. Understand his place and figure out if he is safe or not. Please consider fostering him - it will save his life! He deserves more than this :-( ***NOT RESERVED SWEET SENIOR LUCKY KENTUCKY WILL BE KILLED SHORTLY AT NYCACC IN BROOKLYN, NY!****
A volunteer writes: Oh my goodness what a sweet, soft little love muffin Lucky Kentucky is!!! Lucky K was so happy to go outside with me today and enjoy the warm sunshine! He enjoyed walking and exploring, but what he loved most of all was just to bury his soft silky face in my hands and get all the lovin' he could get! How warm and velvety those sweet little ears are!! And how happy he would have been if we could have just sat together in a park all day - snuggled up in the sunshine and enjoying each other's company! When this cutie pie is not hamming it up for some sweet pets, he enjoys running around and playing fetch before settling in to chew on a good tennis ball! Just look at that eager, adorable face filled with sooooo much love!! Will you be the lucky one to take this bucket of sunshine into your heart and home?! Come visit him today at the Brooklyn ACC!!
