2.) How does expertise in sexuality have any kind of relevance to this topic
3.) A baby knows literally nothing including what consent even is. Why should a person at the point of their life where they are the stupidest and most helpless call the shots over the fucking parents.
4.) How the fuck would a baby even explain or communicate their consent if they could conceive of the concept or form words which they can’t.
5.) What’s going on in your head when changing your kids diapers that you feel this is an activity where consent is a factor at all.
6.) Do you have children?
7.) What if they don’t consent? You leave them to fester and get sick because you put the decision making in the hands of someone with no information?
8.) If something as simple as cleaning shit off of your baby requires consent what else logically requires consent. If your kid is running into traffic do you need consent to pick them up to prevent a car from hitting them? Do you ask for consent to give them food? When they say no like every child ever has do you say okay and just walk away because your kid that doesn’t understand what starving is or why eating is important said no? Oh look our son is trying to eat some razor blades because he’s a fucking baby quick better ask for his consent to take them away.
9.) Why is anybody listening to anything you have to say for even a moment
10.) Who did this to you?
1) getting all your knowledge of a situation from an inflammatory headline isn’t a good look
2) this is about interacting with the baby and getting them used to “communicating” with the parent via eye contact. The parent asks “do you want your diaper changed?” and waits for a response, and then changes it. This is a thing parents have been doing ever since diapers existed.
Wow you really have never changed a diaper before have you? Or you lucked out with extremely cooperative babies. Half the time when you asked that the kid is going to giggle, ignore you, roll or run away, etc.
You really think every diaper change has involved the mother verbally asking the child if they want their diaper changed? Besides that, if you’re not an absolute shit parent then you will change the diaper regardless of how they respond to the question, so if anything this communicates that consent is irrelevant because the person asking will do with they were going to do anyway.
