******Abby has been sitting here since January with no potential adopters :'( She is now considered EXTREMELY Urgent. She has graduated the prison obedience training program and still no one has come to adopt her. We've got to get this girl out. She is completely sponsored and vetted so there is NO CHARGE for her adoption fee. She does good with other dogs IF she is given a long introduction. She will go after cats. Please let us know if there is any interest in Abby. She has only gotten 25 shares so she is in desperate need of our "villages" help 3
*********Abby needs out sooner than later. Has been here since January. Everyone comes to visit. Falls in love with her but NEVER goes thru with the adoption.
I can't believe this sweet girl has been with us since January. She does ok with other dogs if the introduction is slow. She tries to be the alpha dog so she would do best with a submissive male. She is housebroken and never uses the bathroom on the inside of her run. She does excellent with our younger volunteers and would thrive in a home with kids of any age.

We ♥, welcome, and NEED rescues! PLEASE contact us if you can help any of our doggies! You MUST be licensed to be considered a rescue, and please fill out our rescue application if you have not already pulled from us. (We will send to you on contact)
We welcome out of state adoptions/rescue, but we do NOT provide transport. Occasionally we are able to find a volunteer to get animal to a drop point for transport pick up if not too far, but do NOT rely on the staff here to get the animal too you. PLEASE have transport set up. We simply CANNOT transport an animal for you. Many people here have great resources for transport. Ask for help, and I am sure there are many people that are willing to help!
We do welcome offers of sponsorship on the animals in this album. Sponsorship often encourages a rescue to take an animal in. Any "sponsorship" offered will either be paid directly to the vet we use in special needs cases OR if the animal gets a rescue commitment we will contact you AFTER the animal is safely with that rescue and you can make your sponsorship donation directly to the rescue. Sponsorship money goes ONLY to approved rescues and NOT to individuals. If you pledge to help , KEEP your commitment. We want rescues to save our Shelter Kids, and we need your help!
Fosters through the shelter are only permitted locally. This is per Department of Agriculture Regulations. All foster homes MUST be inspected by AC prior to animal placement. Foster homes are listed under our state license, and ALL regulations involving such MUST be followed. Out of state fosters are NOT permitted. Fosters with a rescue once transferred are up to the rescue, and all regulations after transfer are up to them.
Many of these animals are strays. We do not know if they are housebroken, crate trained, ride in cars, etc. If we have any of this info available we will post it. Owner surrender reasons are posted as well. This is NOT the shelters’ take on the animal, this is what the previous owner said.
Volunteers try to monitor this page throughout the day, but please be patient. If there are any changes in an animal’s status, someone will post as so as soon as they are able. You can always send a private message as inquiry in case the notification on the thread is missed- with multiple volunteers logging on as admins, notifications can sometimes be missed- so please call or send a PM if you don't get a reply!
Thank you for helping to save our Habersham Shelter Kids! ❤ ❤ Let's all do our best to keep this page "clean" and positive! We ALL have the same mission- to save lives! Let's work TOGETHER! <3
