TO BE KILLED – 2/12/2018
PLEASE WATCH DAISY’S VIDEO FIRST: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHwU-2H0cBs&feature=youtu.be FOUND TIED TO A GATE IN THE FREEZING COLD. A SAD SWEET SENIOR WHO NEEDS THE COMFORT OF AN ADULT ONLY FAMILY HOME.
When Daisy was last at the NYC ACC in August of 2016, she thought when her new parent adopted her and she took her first steps into her new life, that she would be loved and cared for forever. She was so happy. The day was warm, the birds were singing, and the scent of late summer flowers was drifting on the soft breeze. Squirrels were playing in the park, and Daisy didn’t think she had ever been so happy in all her life. She was approximately 6 years old, and though half her life was behind her, she was so positive and hopeful the rest of her life would be lovely. Fast forward and on February 5th she was found in the freezing cold temperatures tied to a gate and abandoned. We don’t know how long she was there….hours? Days? We do know she was so cold that she tried as hard as she could to free herself from her lead, chewing and chewing till her mouth was lacerated, bleeding and swollen. She cried silent tears. She was now 9 years old, and this was not the life she had hoped for. Not even close. Now she is back at the scary shelter, the place that she remembers and that makes her so anxious, and for the first few days she was so despondent she could only lift her head slowly when people came to her kennel….and when it was not the person she hoped to see, she lay her head back down, turning away to the wall, devastated and heartbroken. Daisy is loyal, Daisy is shy, Daisy is the proverbial wallflower whose love must be won with gentle kindness…and in the winning, her devotion to you lasts a lifetime. We repeat, please watch her video. She is SO SWEET, a chunky lady who is so kind, affectionate and grateful for love and attention. What do you think her chances are of finding another home, one where she can have the time to recover from her heartbreak and open at her own pace in her new surroundings? Will you open your heart to this Senior? We can’t see her die alone at the shelter after she held out so much hope for a better life.
