Glinda came from Eagle Pass, Texas. She was a skinny, young adult road dog who found her way to one of our volunteers, a law enforcement family for our program Loving Texas Pet Assistance. She had many litters there we were sure. We brought her here where she stayed with a GRFF family. There was something very special about this girl. We found homes for all her puppies, and she stayed. We loved on her, despite her cringing when we reached for her. She soon relaxed on our couches and slept in our beds. She hopped with happiness. Hopped into our hearts.
We reached out to a volunteer who had a broken heart. We asked her to foster Glinda, knowing full well what we were doing. Not even two days went by, before the foster mom sent pictures of Glinda in her bed. She called and said she named her Molly and was not giving her back.
Recently behind the scenes we assisted her mom with chemo for a small lump. Today her mom called while they were at the Vet. Molly stopped eating yesterday. She didn’t even want cheese which was her favorite. She could not walk or hold her head up. A giant mass was discovered near her spleen and kidney. Sadly there was nothing that could be done. Her mom was with her as she was quietly put to sleep. We do not know why special dogs are not given a chance to live a good life. 💔 We are at peace knowing she did not die on the streets in the border town where so many dogs are suffering. We are truly rescuing dogs from the impoverished area where she and Buford came from.
Thank you for supporting our humble humans who won’t stop.
