In the Bible, God is described as having many various attributes; but there is only one attribute God has which the Bible repeats three times in succession (which in Hebrew is done to make something emphatic), that is His holiness.
God (in His unveiled form) is described as being surrounded by holy angels which have to cover their own eyes and feet (with their wings) when in close proximity to the Lord, because He is so holy - these are holy angels, and they even have to do this. These angels are described as just continually proclaiming His holiness.
These are angels which love Him for His holiness, praise him for His holiness and - dare I say - fear Him for His complete and utter holiness (a healthy fear).
With that picture given to us, it is easy to see how absurd the thought is of sin approaching this same God's presence; this is a God who is the complete antithesis to sin - He is in Himself pure holiness.
So could you imagine what went on in the minds of these angels (both elect and fallen) who have/had known God in this way of pure holiness, when those same angels saw this same God love the world that much that He came down into this sinful fallen place and put sin upon Himself for you and me. This God of pure holiness - a God who is known and worshiped for His holiness - associated Himself with sin so that we could be set free from it (so that we can be with Him).
And this is not just sin in general reader, He took your personal sin on Himself for you to be set from it.
The Bible says: 'how can we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation.'
What more could have possibly been done to save you from sin? Has not God done what even the angels could not have imagined?
What a great salvation, worthy of all praise, glory and honor :)
I can say with the Apostle James: God is love.
