A British Jewish man stuck a “Boycott Israel” sticker to his Kippah in solidarity with Palestinians.

This is very important. Americans especially (but others are guilty) have to realize that being against or criticizing Israel IS NOT ANTI-SEMITIC. Caring about human rights is not anti-semitic. A criticism of Israel is not a criticism of all Jewish people. Many Jewish people (especially in Tel-Aviv and NYC) are EXTREMELY critical of Israel. Get it through your head. Criticism of something doesn’t always mean you hate something or you hate the people you are criticizing.

If you really care about human rights you’d support Israel.

Explain please. Don’t worry I’m not like most Tumblr users that will throw a fit at any sign of dissent.

Well thats good! xD
For one, the record speaks for itself. Particularly on women’s rights, while no nation is perfect, Israel is #1 in the middle east. Stonings which occur in Saudi Arabia and Iran are nonexistent. Every citizen is allowed a vote. Regardless of race. IN the case of gaza, Israel withdrew when they probably shouldn’t have, to give gaza an opportunity to make something of themselves. So what do they do? Destroy all the infrastructure Israel left behind and fire rockets at Israel. Isrel put up the blockade after that. They blew it. They could have been another Dubai if they wanted. But they chose war. In the recent rounds of conflict Israel has been slandered, when the Gazan leaders use children as human shields. More dead kids= more sympathy.

I am not saying that Palestine is not free from blame BUT the nation of Israel was made, despite its good intentions, by taking the  land of people who lived there. That alone is enough to question the integrity of the nation. I agree that Israel has a better internal record for human rights when compared to any other Islamic nation but that is a distraction argument in my opinion: “we don’t stone our women so let us treat Palestinians like dogs hahah hehehe”. That’s like saying the U.S. has the right to occupy Saudi Arabia because all of Saudi Arabia’s neighbors have a bad record with women’s rights. Although it may be true, two wrongs don’t make a right. Israel’s better treatment of women and LGBT people (if we ignore the super conservative orthodox jews who are pretty sexist and hompphobic) is no excuse to have it mistreat others. As for the human shields thing, Hamas and other Palestinian groups labeled as terrorist groups  have indeed  done awful things …as does Israel …. I’m not defending atrocities committed on any side but one thing is certain Israel, by treating Palestinians so poorly is only making things worse for itself. As for the solution. I don’t know. The solution I want is too unrealistic, but that’s a discussion for another day. Zionism is rampant in the conservative circles of Israel, the ruling circles as of now…. it is not good. I am aware both sides have done bad but in my opinion Israel started it, it has the power to make things better, and this is a thorny issue that involves history, religion, and politics  BUT Israel is on land that is not theirs. Maybe it was at one point, but at the creation of the country it was not.

By that argument America should give its land back to the Indians.

No. I said it should treat the Palestinians better (you know how oppressive Palestine is right now due to Israel let’s not play games) . That doesn’t mean give the entire country back to them. This in theory sounds like the nicest thing to do but i think it’s still unfair since we now have generations of Israelis who call the country their home. Like I said before two wrongs dont make a right. I personally support a one-state solution which gives the land to both people also it isn’t a solution based on religion or any of that.  But there are many reasons why this is problematic. I am aware of this, but all other solutions aren’t satisfactory either. The way I see it is there are three possible outcomes ALL Palestines go away (unfair), ALL Israelis go away (unfair), BOTh parties learn to live together harmoniously (fair).
