**** TO BE KILLED - 11/28/2017 ****
<3 Always smiling, always with a happy countenance, Lady Sapphire is a girl who loves the company of people. She adores attention, solicits affection, and wants nothing more than to be in your lap and soaking up the love. The volunteers say she is the kind of pup who “wants to be your Boo” and we can see why. Wiggly, waggy, a lover of treats, she is so easy to be around and she does that adorable “head tilt” thing that melts our hearts. Lady Sapphire doesn’t belong in the shelter, she belongs, and deserves to be in, a family home where she will get all the attention she adores and that she will give back to her family 100 fold. Please share this beautiful big hearted girl far and wide – or foster or adopt her yourself and make her holiday wish come true. PM our page for assistance.

Summary (1):: Lady sapphire was brought in as a stray so her past behavior with other dogs is unknown. 11/17: When off leash at the Care Center, Lady Sapphire greets at the fence with a stiff posture and low grumbles. She eventually begins to low growl and bark towards the other dogs. The interaction is ended without opening the gate due to the inexperience of today’s helper dog. Lady Sapphire will be tried again with a softer, less nervous male as soon as possible.

Recommendations comments:: _X_ Single-pet home/Recommend no dog parks: Due to the behaviors that Lady Sapphire has shown during playgroup, we feel that Lady Sapphire should not visit dog parks and be the only resident dog. The Behavior Department recommends that she be socialized in a more controlled setting until her behavior towards other dogs can be further addressed. Reward-based, force-free training can be utilized to help Lady Sapphire associate dogs with things she enjoys like toys or treats.
