A QUICK NECK PAIN ROUTINE . 😣Neck pain hits us all at some point or another. From stress and tension, to posture, and pulled muscles, it quite frankly just all sucks. So here are some easy neck exercises from @quaddoc to help you reduce pain and tension. . Each of these movements can be done as a contraction alone or combined with a stretch. . These are isometric contractions so the muscle doesn't change in length. Slowly apply the resistance (aka your hand) and 📈 ramp up to a maximal contraction. DO NOT just try to go full max contraction right off the bat. The point is 🐌 SLOW and CONTROLLED. . If you want to add a stretch, just pull in the opposite direction after each contraction, i.e. push into extension and then pull forward to stretch the back. . Here are a few key things going through each one: . 🔷Flexion - Tuck the chin first to start in a NEUTRAL neck position. Then use your chin to push down on top of the fist. . 🔷Extension - Fold hands behind your head and push your head back while you roll through the skull. . 🔷Rotation - Place your hand on the side of your face and rotate into it as if you are trying to look over your shoulder. . 🔷Lateral Bend - Take your head to side as if you are trying to touch your ear to the shoulder. Be sure to watch for rotation here!!! This is a 🙅no no with lateral bending of the neck because that is CHEATING!! .
