The White-lined Sphinx Moths (Hyles lineata) are diurnal moths in the sphinx/hawkmoth family.
They are active moths and powerful flyers, known to produce body heat during long distance flights. They are seen here feeding on milkweed in the Northern United States.

When I first saw one of these it was at a nature preserve, and I’m not exaggerating I freaked out because it was so beautiful and I was convinced it was a bird/bee hybrid created in a lab.
