Michigan has become the 10th state to legalize recreational marijuana. Under the state’s Proposition 18-1, which was passed into law last evening, adults 21 and older will be allowed to purchase and possess marijuana for recreational use. The state will establish a licensing system for cannabis businesses and permit the sale of cannabis products with an additional 10% tax. The proposition was passed with a 56-44 percent margin. ___ Cannabis products will not be available for purchase in the state until early 2020. Michigan will first establish regulations and issue licenses for recreational cannabis sales.
