Washington Goodwill Receives $24,000 Worth of Weed as Donation – blogged by @MsJennyb ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Over the weekend, a Goodwill in Monroe, Washington received an unexpected donation worth over $20,000. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The donation was sent over in a cooler. As the thrift shop employees sifted through the contributions, they found five large bags of marijuana, worth about $24,000. The staff called the police. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When officials arrived, they too were surprised to find over 3.75 pounds of weed in the thrift shop. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “Normally when we go there, it is for a shoplifter, but not anything like this,” Debbie Willis of the city police department said. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Officials have not found the person responsible for the large donation and according to the Huffington Post, it is unclear if that person meant to deliver thousands of dollars worth of pot to the thrift shop. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In any case, officials have seized the large amount of marijuana. Although it is legal to possess up to an ounce of weed in the state, the marijuana must come from a licensed producer and seller, the publication reports.
