Facebook, Funny, and Love: Black Man Who Filmed Latino Workers Striking ls Fired from His Job, Regrets Nothing Regrann from @realnegus804 - Black and Brown Pride ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼 @the.root “Now Dangerfield, who said he had recently been offered a team lead job working as a contracted construction worker, says he’s been fired as a result of posting the video—after initially being offered $250 to take it down. “It was at 1.1 million views on Facebook at that point. So there was nothing I could do,” Dangerfield said in a recent interview with Jacobin magazine He also made it clear he has no regrets about filming the display of worker solidarity. “[The video] is funny or whatever, but people love seeing people come together like that. That’s why it’s so viral. Because everybody wants that deep down,” he told the magazine. Dangerfield also laid out what had been going at the site, where different contractors were working on building a UPS superhub in Indianapolis. According to the 30-year-old welder, the Latino workers had an issue with a white safety coordinator who would constantly harass them—“always messing with them, taking pictures and videos, trying to get them fired.” “He was just a racist, basically — always messing with anybody who’s not white,” Dangerfield said.” - regrann

Ali, Creepy, and Finn: TSNOT A DOUBLE STANDARD. Reversing the roles doesnt releave a double standard. Have you ever heard of the term "creep" being applied to a female? Men are the dominant gender physically - this is why they are able to rape women. If a 30 year old man says to a 13 year old to hit him up in a few years, its creepy because its dangerous. He is able to physically impose himself on her already. Flip the roles and you have a wafer thin model doing the same to a 14 year old boy. Not only would the boy almost certainly like the attention, and validation of his looks at such an insecure age, but there would be no sense of danger or creepiness as in most cases such as this one, the 14 year old boy is probably more physically dominating than the model anyway. This is why it is not creepy and furthermore even a gesture that is nice and would boost the boys self esteem. The world is way too pc cracking down on harmless exchanges like this.
thylovelylionheart:

libertarirynn:

“Making sexual comments to underage girls is creepy and wrong because men R scary but it’s fine to do it underage boys and it probably makes them feel good anyway so nbd”

Shut

The

Fuck

Up.

when Finn Wolfhard (the 14 y/o child actor the person in the photo is referencing) was asked about the comment the model made about him, he literally said, “Oh that was nuts. That was gross. That’s good that she apologised, it’s weird but…it’s fine.”

He didn’t find the comment “flattering”, he found it gross. It’s even clearer in the video where he said that quote how uncomfortable this situation makes him. The model essentially catcalled him, an underage boy, over social media, and yet some people are trying to insist that it’s not creepy.

And yeah, saying that it’s not inappropriate bc Finn’s a boy and the model is a woman but that it would be inappropriate if the genders were flipped is absolutely a double standard, and a disgusting one at that.

Well there you go. Even if he had found it flattering it would be irrelevant. Do these people actually think there are no girls who enjoy that kind of attention too? As the ADULT in situation it’s your job to know better. But the fact that he was creeped out by it just strengthens the point further. He didn’t think it was funny or hot so shut the hell up.

America, Bernie Sanders, and Children: BERNIE SANDERS FACTS: 1. Bernie Sanders has never owned a business 2. Bernie Sanders has never invented anything or started a business 3. Bernie Sanders has never had a 9-to-5 job 4. Bernie Sanders has never proposed a bill that has passed in over 26-years 5. Bernie Sanders lived off of welfare before being elected 6. Bernie Sanders is 74-years old 7. Bernie Sanders has a net worth of only $300,000 8. The overwhelming majority of Bernie Sanders supporters are not employed 9. The overwhelming majority of Bernie Sanders supporters receive financial aid to live SUMMARY: The next president United States could well be elected by voters who don't work but receive financial aid to give that money to a man who's never held an actual job has done nothing in his life that he can put his name on, and who has never authored a political bill that's passed a single vote THIS DOESN'T SOLVE AMERICA'S PROBLEMS. It took him 40 years to collect his first steady paycheck — and it was a government check.

‘I never had any money my entire life,’ Sanders told Vermont public TV in 1985, after settling into his first real job as mayor of Burlington.

Sanders spent most of his life as an angry radical and agitator who never accomplished much of anything. And yet now he thinks he deserves the power to run your life and your finances — ‘We will raise taxes;’ he confirmed Monday, ‘yes, we will.’

One of his first jobs was registering people for food stamps, and it was all downhill from there.

Sanders took his first bride to live in a maple sugar shack with a dirt floor, and she soon left him. Penniless, he went on unemployment. Then he had a child out of wedlock. Desperate, he tried carpentry but could barely sink a nail. ‘He was a shitty carpenter,’ a friend told Politico Magazine. ‘His carpentry was not going to support him, and didn’t.’

Then he tried his hand freelancing for leftist rags, writing about ‘masturbation and rape’ and other crudities for $50 a story. He drove around in a rusted-out, Bondo-covered VW bug with no working windshield wipers. Friends said he was ‘always poor’ and his ‘electricity was turned off a lot.’ They described him as a slob who kept a messy apartment — and this is what his friends had to say about him.’

The only thing he was good at was talking … non-stop … about socialism and how the rich were ripping everybody off. ‘The whole quality of life in America is based on greed,’ the bitter layabout said. ‘I believe in the redistribution of wealth in this nation.’

So he tried politics, starting his own socialist party. Four times he ran for Vermont public office, and four times he lost — badly. He never attracted more than single-digit support — even in the People’s Republic of Vermont. In his 1971 bid for U.S. Senate, the local press said the 30-year-old “Sanders describes himself as a carpenter who has worked with ‘disturbed children.’ ” In other words, a real winner.”

From the Washington Post article “Bernie Sanders: from Migrant Hippie to Would-Be President”:

“He worked there as a carpenter, filmmaker and writer and became a member of socialist Liberty Union Party.”

A carpenter? But hey, that’s a job. Wait for it. From the New Yorker piece “The Populist Profit”:

“He did a stint on a kibbutz in Israel, worked as an aide at a psychiatric hospital, taught in a Head Start program, and had a carpentry business with a few other guys in New York. It was called Creative Carpentry, and Rader says that it was accurately named: “They advertised in the Village Voice, but didn’t know much about carpentry. They’d go to the hardware store to buy supplies, and ask the clerk how to do the repairs they’d been hired to do.”

For anyone curious, a kibbutz is basically a commune or as I like to call them “pinko farms.”

Here are a couple other links of interest:

MSNBC - The 25 best things we learned from Bernie Sanders’ book

BallotPedia - Bernie Sanders

NPR - Sanders Among The Least Wealthy Presidential Candidates (although this is still questionable without 2015 tax returns [1] [2])

Breitbart - Bernie Sanders Touts ‘Working People’ While Unverified ‘Unemployed’ Fill His Coffers

2016 Democratic Primary Results from Income (Less than $25K) voters

I believe the only statement above that isn’t accurate is the sponsored legislation that became law. Three pieces of legislation he sponsored were passed.

Bernie…not even once.

A man who dances like that has no business in the White House.

What fucking paycheck?! The one for $290/week, if they’re working full-time? The one with no benefits? It must be nice to be a smug asshole making enough green to think simply paying less in taxes is a solution to slave wages; because that is what minimum wage is. If it had kept pace with inflation, it would be $21.16/hour. $15/hr. is meeting in the middle. Get a clue.

Having actually worked several minimum wage hours when I was younger, I can honestly say I got paid a fair wage for work I was doing. I of course wanted to earn more so I could spend my money on more stuff, so I worked hard and earned a raise. Despite this, the government always took out about 17% of my weekly earnings without my permission which did limit my spending each pay period.

So, yes, I did understand the solution - I did not want to keep working for minimum wage to receive minimum pay so I worked my way to a higher wage or found new jobs that paid more. Pretty simple concept.

Oh, and the minimum wage has nothing to do with keeping up with inflation, you fool.

Yeah, I’ve worked minimum wage jobs myself when I was younger - a number of them. I thought the pay was disgraceful for the amount of labor involved. Luckily, I had plenty of opportunities to earn degrees and find better paying jobs myself. I even started my own business and have been successful enough to provide a middle class lifestyle for my family in a country where that is increasingly harder to accomplish. The difference here is that I understand that I am where I am today because of privilege and circumstances not available to everyone in our country. Yes, I’ve worked my ass off to get where I am. I work hard every week as a teacher, and as the owner of a retail business. But I don’t kid myself into thinking my labor is somehow harder than the single mom working at McDonald’s. I’ve been there. Those jobs suck. I also don’t buy into this false narrative that equates wealth with harder work. If anything, I’ve noticed that the more money people earn, the less work they tend to do, because they usually end up getting others to work for them. People in the wealthiest nation on earth should not put in 40 hours a week for a poverty wage and no benefits that in turn require taxpayers to subsidize them, so they can survive. How can you not see that? How have you bought into this fantasy to the point that you think corporations making obscene profits at the expense of their employees and WE the TAXPAYERS are somehow in the right for fucking us all over, while getting you to bash the hardworking people who make their profits possible?

As to your last comment about the minimum wage and inflation - why not? What’s your argument, “fool?” Because not only has minimum wage not kept up with inflation, neither have middle class wages. So, unless you’re in the upper economic echelons, over the past 30 years, you’ve gotten fucked too.

> “I even started my own business and have been successful enough to provide a middle class lifestyle for my family in a country where that is increasingly harder to accomplish.”

> “Yes, I’ve worked my ass off to get where I am.”

> “I also don’t buy into this false narrative that equates wealth with harder work.”

The cognitive dissonance of some progressives must be excruciating.

This entire argument boils down to the lousy myth of “privilege”. “Yes, I worked hard but I luckily had more advantages unlike other people.” Boo hoo. People are all different. They start at different places, they have different skills, different qualities, different personalities, different physical characteristics, different lifestyles, different upbringings, different education, etc. This truth does not permit equal outcomes. Some people will be successful with what they are given and some will not. Some people will rise from poverty into wealth and some will fall from affluence into destitution.

Therefore, you were successful because you chose to be successful. It was not because you were more privileged than somebody else; it was because you worked hard. And everyone has the opportunity to work hard in order to better themselves. So, when you create policies to theoretically “prop someone up” in order to give them an “equal” advantage, you are not doing anything to change this. They are ultimately the arbiters of their own destiny.

Minimum wages helps no one. It is an artificial price floor to distort the market in favor of groups. That’s why the unions originally created it and that’s why they promote it today while also exempting themselves from it. It is because I understand these inconvenient truths that I do not support the minimum wage. And I find it quite sad that a supposed “business owner” would not understand the concept. But then again, what would you expect from someone who’s blog tagline is, “The Revolution will not be televised. This is a treatise against the oligarchy. Fuck the rich. Let’s make America a true democracy.” That’s some edgy teenage socialist lingo right there.

And you clearly did not read that article. Because if you did, you would already know the answer to your question.

I used to clean airplanes for $8.00 an hour. Worked hard and got a raise to $8.44.

There is no way I would’ve ever expected to earn $15 an hour for doing that. You’ve got to be joking. It was a shitty and exhausting job working in the Phoenix heat, but that doesn’t equate to earning more.

Okay quick age check here. I’m 30 and have seen how little the dollar is worth now, 2.15 in 1965 is over 22.50 now, minimum wage is a living wage and until Reaganomics ruined it people weren’t dumb enough to believe the shit your spewing

Dear @youngbull1985,

I hate to break it to you but you are a 30 year-old economic illiterate. The federal minimum wage in 1965 was $1.25 which is $9.38 in 2015 dollars. So, you’re not even close and obviously got your progressive talking points messed up somewhere.

Furthermore, inflation has nothing to do with wage rates. That’s just an economic fallacy to begin with. The progressives just use it anyway to invoke an emotional response from ignorant people that do not understand the math. The same can be said about the meaningless term “living wage.” There is no such thing as a “living wage.” That term is completely subjective and holds absolutely no real value.

Do yourself a favor and forget everything you think you know about the minimum wage or “Reaganomics” and pick up an actual history book or take a basic economics class and educate yourself. Because repeating completely bogus talking points you learned from other idiot progressives online is not helping anyone. Until then, your vote is cancelling out someone else’s that understands the world better than you.

So why are you continually using a word like the R-word as an insult?

I’m a 30 year old man with Down syndrome who has struggled with the public’s perception that an intellectual disability means that I am dumb and shallow. I am not either of those things, but I do process information more slowly than the rest of you. In fact it has taken me all day to figure out how to respond to your use of the R-word last night.

I thought first of asking whether you meant to describe the President as someone who was bullied as a child by people like you, but rose above it to find a way to succeed in life as many of my fellow Special Olympians have.

Then I wondered if you meant to describe him as someone who has to struggle to be thoughtful about everything he says, as everyone else races from one snarkey sound bite to the next.

Finally, I wondered if you meant to degrade him as someone who is likely to receive bad health care, live in low grade housing with very little income and still manages to see life as a wonderful gift.

Because, Ms. Coulter, that is who we are – and much, much more.

After I saw your tweet, I realized you just wanted to belittle the President by linking him to people like me. You assumed that people would understand and accept that being linked to someone like me is an insult and you assumed you could get away with it and still appear on TV.

I have to wonder if you considered other hateful words but recoiled from the backlash.

Well, Ms. Coulter, you, and society, need to learn that being compared to people like me should be considered a badge of honor.

No one overcomes more than we do and still loves life so much.

Come join us someday at Special Olympics. See if you can walk away with your heart unchanged.

A friend you haven’t made yet,

John Franklin Stephens

Global Messenger Special Olympics Virginia

[specialolympicsblog]

This needs to be read by all.

She, Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, and Fox News are just attention seeking trolls.

WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT. Ann Coulter calls Obama a Retard, she’s an attention whore, along with Palin and Limbaugh, then Obama calls Romney a bullshitter and he’s a rebel? A freedom fighter for the constitution? ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?!

Yes. Yes they are. They also conveniently forget that Obama straight up made fun of the special olympics once.
