There would have been craftsmen and merchants and suchlike, but not really the culture of “small business owners” he seems to be envisioning. Equally, the middle class as a large-scale phenomenon wasn’t so much of a thing until the decline of feudalism in the late fifteenth, early sixteenth century.

And all the nobility being established at the same time and all more or less recognising each other’s claims was basically exactly how the history of England went after the Norman Invasion. All the major noble families of the feudal era (and most still around today) could trace their lineage directly back to the first group of conquering nobles that came over with William I, and this difference in their origins from the common people would have been immediately obvious even after hundreds of years.

Pedantic: The Twitter Screed

Pedantry without true knowledge

I mean if you want to get pedantic and specific on a fantasy world you could always read the entire appendixes for LOTR.

TS in-the-garage Well, if someone calls someone a space cadet, you understand that they don't mean that the person is fit to be an astronaut? l only use this example to establish that you can use something that isn't technically an insult as an insult. Further, it (can be) dehumanizing. As if you aren't really a person, you're just a trekkie. They aren't using your given name, you're just boiled down to being some stereotypical nerd, geek, dweeb, lonely basement-dwelling virgin Bonus points if the person knows that you don't even like Star Trek, because not only are you being stereotyped and dehumanized, the person is going out of their way to intentionally mischaracterize who you are It's really not much different than being called a Nazi, because in doing so, a person doesn't mean you share the political views of the Nationalist Socialist party in 1930s-1940s. They mean you're a racist, bigoted, anti-semite fascist etc.
birepublicangirl:

equestrianrepublican:

bihispanicconservative:

the-cringe-channel:

“it’s really not much different than being called a nazi”

it’s january the first and i’m calling it, i’m gonna fucking call it

this is the biggest reach of 2017

@equestrianrepublican
@hale-hortler have you been watching the star treks again son?

What the actual fuck???

Bahahaha bro I hoped you stretched before that reach.
