Being Alone, Batman, and Books: LIBRARIAN HUMOR ISEE WHAT YOU DID THERE 0 dracophile: randomthingieshere: pheenixwright: invenblocker: pheenixwright: invenblocker: pheenixwright: invenblocker: forthefuns: follow forthefuns for more funny stuff Your honor! Please direct your attention towards the manga. As you can see there are small pieces of paper sticking out of every volume. But no such paper is sticking out of the Batman comic. The reason? The Batman book doesn’t belong to the library. The photographer put it there to take a picture. Once again making hasty assumptions, Wright?First of all, I’d like to direct the court’s attention to this particular spot, in the top right-hand corner.Notice how the words are blocking the top of the Batman book. With this in mind, how can you claim that there is “no such paper sticking out of the Batman comic”?! Say whaaaat?Well uhmLook at the size of the paper pieces, they’re all sticking pretty far out.If there was paper in the batman comic, it would be big enough to stick up over the text. And while gravity does exist, it probably won’t make the paper do a 90 degree turn and just lean horisontally left at the middle.Still grasping for straws, Wright?Hypothetically, if there were a paper there, this picture would not be able to prove its presence. I’ve taken the liberty of drawing a diagram to illustrate my point. We are faced with three possibilities. It is possible that (1) the paper was simply tucked in deeper than the others.Paper is a soft material, Wright. It’s not unreasonable for it to do a (2) 90 degree turn. Or perhaps, (3) a paper does not exist there at all. Either way, you cannot prove your client innocent without sufficient evidence.   Which, of course, is impossible thanks to the obtrusive words. I’m sorry Edgeworth.I concede that I can’t disprove theory 1But the image you submited for theory 2 is contradictory.Look at the tilt of the other papers. They clearly prove how much the paper would tilt. And theory 3 is my point! Why would the library’s book not have this piece of paper when the other library books do?While you still have thory 1, there is another contradiction. The books are not in alphabetical order, this proves that the batman comic was placed there specifically for the picture! Ack.(Perhaps I should’ve left the artistry to the forensic artist…)Now hold it right there! It doesn’t matter which direction the paper is going because it’s impossible to prove it even exists! Those theories are all the same! We do not have enough information to prove them. There could be an infinite amount of papers in there for all we know. I simply presented them only so that the court could better understand your baseless conjecture!… I suppose the order of the books do seem out of the ordinary. However, therein lies not just one possibility. Clearly, those are Japanese graphic novels, also known as “manga”. And the Batman comic book is a graphic novel, too, no?Seeing as it currently has only graphic novels in the shelf, it is possible that any other novels have simply not yet been restocked. Asserting whether or not this effect was deliberate is useless– there is no way of knowing if the photographer and the captioner are the same person, let alone their involvement in this picture.Face it Wright, you can’t prove any of these groundless accusations! Did everyone just ignore the library sticker?

Fun fact, sesame street was created to fill the gap in education for children whose families could not afford to send them to preschool. Sesame street taught basic math and phonics as well as interpersonal skills so that children below the poverty line weren’t starting elementary school behind their more privileged classmates. Here sesame street is trying to fill a gap where supportive adults should be. Where there should be a teacher or a family member or a counselor to help, for whatever reason, there isn’t, so Sesame Street is stepping in. This breed of person has always hated Sesame Street. They hated it for showing black and white children playing together. They hated it for giving children of color the head start that rich white families were paying for. They hated it for Bert and Ernie for showing two MEN who LIVED TOGETHER, for the married black nurse who lived on sesame street when it was first released, and for them explaining death. I feel like there was a pregnancy at some point in its early days and they would have REALLY hated that. These days they don’t (usually) say “I’m not letting my kid watch anything with black kids in it” but they sure throw a tantrum in the youtube comments when Sesame Street DARES to show an autistic girl playing with non-autistic children and being treated like shes anyone else. They lose their shit when Sesame Street has to explain incarceration to 5 year olds. And the muppet in south africa with HIV? Hoo boy. They hate everything Sesame Street stands for and tries to provide. They always have. We just have to ignore them and keep supporting the show. Or tell them to shut the fuck up and keep supporting the show. Either way Sesame Street will outlive them. Sesame Street will outlive them.
Family, Friends, and Fucking: do older generations not get fatalistic humor?? like the other day my friend's parents were hanging around and we were joking and ¡ W:as like "well no matter what i can always fling myself off the nearest cliff and they didn't laugh then later the mom pulled me aside and was like "maybe you should get some help, sweetie" like stfu?? help? in this I honestly don't think they get it as a coping mechanism, they think it's a cry for help rather i'd even say it's past just coping and is also now a category of Stuff Kids Got Used To When No One Was Looking; not everyone using that humor is even covering up something bigger, we just stopped thinking along the line, and most parents don't seem My boss opened a door and missed me by inches, he said whoops, almost killed you there!" My result of "Oh, if only. Led to an as the goddamn Addams Family and the Family that lives next door and runs away screaming at the end of the episode I will say that it's interesting because this kind of hurnor is very, very prevalent Which is honestly a place you would expect fatalistic humor to be common and used as a coping method. You're one "oops away from death on the flight deck, one inch to the left and you don't have a head anymone because the jet that just landed now owns it as a wing-tip decoration. So you joke about it because lowkey you're fucking terrified it'll happen, but you're also desensitized to the danger itself because you face it every single day for 12 hours at a time. Anyway so we all know the mindset you adopt in the military because of the danger so to realise that an identical sense of humor has been adopted by normal people should about the amount of stress modem young It was also common in previous generations that had to deal with say, war and economic One of my favorite movies is Singing In The Rain which came in out 1952, right on the tailcoat of two world wars and a looming cold one, and for all it's a cheery happy musical, it's got this really bleak witty humor too, things like call me a cab! "okay, you're a cab! or the scene where Don says he'll be homeless by the next day and Cosmo cheerfully tells him not to be ridiculous.. the bank bailiffs And then quite probably one of my favorite opening lines, where two young girls are watching Lina on screen and one says "She's so refined. I think I'll kill myself Which really resonates with a lot of the things we say now when talking about people we find personally attractive, meaning not only is fatalism not a new trend, but those two girls at the starting sequence of Singing In The Rain are totally there for Lina, not Don So it's almost as if you can use fatalist humor as a sort of social atmosphere barometer. If fatalist humors starts to become Maybe sometimes it will be obvious, like during war times or in potentially dangerous it's less obvious, like the younger generation's views of their future. Either way, from all the comments above, it seems to have somehow emerged as a reliable measure of how things this explains a lot

My point of this was not “I like Caitlyn Jenner“ it’s that the people who kissed her ass did so in spite of the hit-and-run and only stopped kissing her ass when she revealed right-leaning politics. That’s literally it. Caitlyn killed someone, transitioned, and became “stunning and brave”, then everyone learned she’s a conservative, and shat all over her again. And the people who think Ellen is some pure wooby would do the exact same to her if she committed wrongthink. Exactly. You can hang around and/or do all sorts of morally questionable things and still be OK as long as you identify on the LGBTQASDFGHJKL Spectrum and have the right politics, the only dealbreaker is being even slightly right of center. Caitlyn was “Woman of the Year” until she said she supported Ted Cruz. Lacie Greene was a feminist darling until she had the audacity to say that it can be beneficial to have discussions with people of different opinions, then suddenly she was the Nazi sympathizer. No one is safe.
