Please, when you see young girls who look like this, remember not to blame the literal children for their own oppression. They’re just trying to “fit in” and be accepted by their peers. Blame the fucking adults who sell them this image and profit from it. Thank you for explaining what bothered me about children looking like that. I could never quite put my finger on it. : 14 year olds nowadays vs me when l was 14 Life the-party-pineapple: larpsandtherealgirl: criticalanalytical: this is what the rise of pedophile culture looks like–little girls are being indoctrinated into beauty rituals at earlier and earlier ages to feed the misogynistic pedophilic male gaze. this is what the intersection of capitalism and misogyny looks like–fashion and beauty products are being marketed to females no matter their age as long as is generates profit and feeds the male gaze. this is what porn culture looks like–due in part to the widespread availability of porn, females are considered sexual objects before they are considered human beings and so no matter what, a female must always be sexually available and presentable to men. ^Exactly. IT'S CALLED CENTER OF GRAVITY. get on your hands and knees and crawl across that thing. HUG IT. SCOOT YOUR BUTT ACROSS. badmagictattoos: growlbeast: painted-bees: gn-a: Sak Yant or Yantra Tattooing are  believed to give the wearer magic powers associated with healing, luck, strength, and protection against evil. You can get these here in thailand by a monk, they look beautiful but I’d never recommend it. Essentially, you’re making a pact with a spirit to protect you in exchange for sacrificing an activity or habit you may have previously enjoyed (the monk decides what this is, not you). These tattoos are contracts.  Breaking your side of the bargain may encourage the spirit to ‘punish’ you, and these contracts are not easily voided.  Reblogging for the informative caption. A lot of young people want things like this to be cool hipster fucks and they entirely disrespect the meaning behind these ceremonies In tattooing ritual imagery, you are inviting spirits (or types of energy, if you will) into your life. Tattooing ritual imagery on your body is not something to be done lightly and ABSOLUTELY not to be done unless you have deep intellectual, spiritual and communal ties to those rituals. : badmagictattoos: growlbeast: painted-bees: gn-a: Sak Yant or Yantra Tattooing are  believed to give the wearer magic powers associated with healing, luck, strength, and protection against evil. I don’t think even Voldemort liked this bitch! No one likes Umbridge. I heard, one time, a dementor kissed her and IT died Voldemort committed genocide, but Umbridge dared to be female while she abused her power.  The point isn’t that Umbridge was worse than Voldemort; it’s that everyone hates her more. And I think it has nothing to do with her being a woman and everything with being the sort of cruel most of us have actually experienced. I mean, look at Voldemort. He’s basically Wizard Hitler, which is, obviously, an incredibly terrible thing to be. But most people—especially the younger people in Harry Potter’s target audience—have not had their parents murdered by a xenophobic cult leader. Nor have they fought for their lives against giant snakes, been kidnapped for dark rituals, or watched numerous friends die in front of them. Voldemort’s crimes are numerous, but they’re distant and fantastical, like hearing about a serial killer on the news. But they have had that one teacher who inflicts extra punishments just because they don’t like you. They’ve complained to parents and authorities only to be ignored. They’ve sat through pointless classes and been silenced when they criticize. Umbridge is that teacher we all hated because she made our lives miserable and we were powerless to stop her. And as we grow out of school, there are still people in positions of power who act like her. The manager who denies your schedule requests and penalizes you for invented infractions. That customer who complains to corporate because their scam didn’t work, and the corporate decision to listen to their story. Cops performing illegal searches because they know you don’t have any proof. Yes, torturing and killing numerous people is worse than terrorizing a handful of schoolchildren, but Voldemort is the bad guy in a fairy tale. Umbridge is personal. *drops the mic* Voldemort is the villain we never hope to face. Umbridge is the villain we face every day. : Hogwarts is my home! You can't do this. poppypicklesticks: nadiezda: I’ve seen some posts making this guilt trip of how the people who like to dress up as a sugar skull or the Catrina for halloween or whatever is racist and cultural appropriation. Nah, it’s completely fine, as long as you are not totally ignorant about it or disrespectful. Sugar skull represents the deceased, in a joyful manner. And the Catrina is just a social critic which became an icon later on for the day of the dead and Mexico.  It is not offensive to turn this into a costume or an accessory because it already is, so if you want to dress up like sugar skulls on Halloween, do so, but atleast know it’s value. Be open minded, don’t even hate, and share this rich culture we have with the rest of humanity, chill. This post is about that eradicating guilt trip and blaming, and turn it into self awareness I gotta admit, I am hugely inspired by the Day of the Dead, and imagery from it turned up a lot in my art, and tumblr made me stop referencing it for quite some time.
