I need to talk about this scene. This scene actually, physically hurt me when I watched it in theaters, and cemented Iron Man as a bad guy in my head.

Sam Wilson saw his friend get shot out of the air. He was too late to save him; he watched his wingman die, and he was powerless to do anything.

So imagine how he feels when the shot that was meant to hit him hits Rhodey, who begins to plummet towards the ground. He immediately dives after him with zero hesitation, but he’s just not fast enough. He even apologizes to Tony, although he has nothing to apologize for.

And do you know what Tony does?

He shoots him. Point blank.

I don’t care if Tony didn’t know about Riley. It doesn’t matter. Sam Wilson just risked his life going after Rhodey, probably having flashbacks the entire way down, and he fails. Again.

And Tony doesn’t care. He shoots him, and he’s so close that the force of the shot sends Sam somersaulting backwards.

Sam did nothing to injure Rhodey in any way, and even tries to help, and Tony. Fricking. S h o o t s. H i m.

How can you support or stan this disgusting man?


Also, if I recall correctly, Sam Wilson served as a pararescue airman. That means he’s a trained medic, he could have helped Rhodey and probably would have if Tony hadn’t shot him point blank in the chest.


Yeah, either tony is that much of an asshole that he didn’t bother to get to know Sam despite him being part of the team for two years or he’s that much of an asshole that he shot a trained medic in the chest. 


And let’s not forget that using a repulsor blast that powerful, powerful enough to throw him back like he was shot with a shotgun, at relatively close range, on a target with no power armor (and no the falcon suit doesn’t count, it’s for flight not protection) could easily have killed him. Shock, cracking his head on the ground, stopping his heart from the force, that could have killed him. I mean, sam’s a tough cookie, but that wasn’t “the hulk punching thor after the battle because he didn’t forget about his insult from earlier, but they both know he’s gonna be alright” it’s “Tony is so selfish that he is willing to potentially kill sam because he hurt rhodey”

Despite all of this, Sam’s first words to Tony, after being imprisoned thanks to him, is “How is Rhodes?”
Concern for a former team-mate is still foremost in his mind, despite the fact that going back to help, rather than following Steve and Bucky to help them in Siberia, is what landed Sam in the Raft.
Then Sam turns around, and we see that half of his face is one massive bruise, and he is moving slowly.
Yeah, no, that is never going to be justifiable.

Also, what is to say that Rhodey’s injuries weren’t made worse by Tony’s attempts to help, since the guy with medical training was injured and potentially unconscious thanks to Iron Man ‘getting angry and reacting’.


Sam Wilson wasn’t offering to help. Sam Wilson was standing there, looking at him, and the guy with PTSD and trust issues properly assumed that the fucker would take another shot. 

Like, you’re expecting him to think clearly? Why would he react any other way? 


Yeah, I expect him to think clearly. He’s an adult. Cut it out with the PTSD defense; just because someone has a mental illness like that doesn’t excuse their actions.
Sam also has PTSD. He was probably having a vivid flashback to the time his friend died in front of him in much the same way. So, excuse him for sitting there, reliving all his past mistakes, beating himself up because maybe if he has been faster, or if he had done this or that, Rhodey wouldn’t be paralyzed.
Get the hell off my post with your gross Tonky defense and cry to someone who cares, because I don’t. 

plus, sam did nothing to rhodey. all he did was dodge a shot from vision that would have killed him if it connected. he has no protection in his flight gear so if he fell from the height that rhodey did he would have died. It’s a breezy summer day and the rustling from the leaves outside sound like whispers from my small apartment. I’m sitting in front of my laptop, silently studying the 1.6 billion faces speaking simultaneously in front of me. It’s Monday, the day of the weekly conference call between all Muslims. We have been required to attend this Skype meeting from the the tender age of fetus, but I had never spoken in one of them before. 
That changes today. 
“Hey guys, what if…” I start to say. 
Nobody hears me, but I refuse to be silent. How could I show my face again on Tumblr if I couldn’t even save my mayonnaise friends from death? How could I expect to earn their respect? Anon was right; why hadn’t I done this before? Thousands of lives had paid the price for my ignorance, but not anymore.
“What if you guys….. stopped killing people.“ 
Suddenly, silence. 
1,643,398,023 pairs of eyes are on me. My heart is in my throat as the ISIS leader gives me a blank expression. 
A single tear rolls down my cheek. "Please.” I say with a broken voice. 
He is moved. 
“Aight”.


My fingers are almost shaking as I carefully type in the ten digit phone number I have had memorized my entire life. The buttons on my home phone seem to glow a bit more dull, and even the ringing of the phone from the other end seems to be agonized, almost as if the world is telling me to hang up. But I refuse to give up; I can’t let my lily-white friends down. Not again.
The phone rings once. Twice. Three times. Still no answer. Just as I am about to hang up, there is a click.
All I can hear is heavy breathing.
“Hello….” I say quietly, my voice shaking. “Is….. Is this Muslim?”
There was a long silence before I heard a voice answer “ya lol”.
“I was thinking………..” I begin cautiously. “Maybe murder is…………bad.”
“Habibi, I…..I don’t understand. What are you trying to say….?” The voice seems shaken.
“What if…….world peace is good and killing people is…………not good”
He lets out an audible gasp. “Are you saying ISIS is…….bad?”
“Maybe death is…….not good.” I continue. My heart is racing. I remind myself that I am saving thousands of lives, and inhale.
The silence from the other end of the line is almost deafening. He seemed to be thinking, as if he had never considered this idea before in his life. Truly I had opened his heart and his mind. This…. This could end terrorism.
“Muslim….Please.” I whisper.
I hear a tear roll down his cheek, with my Muslim Communication Hearing™ and hold my breath as he finally breathes out his next words.

        Being Alone, Ariel, and Bad: don't wait & cry for

I absolutely hate to see this picture on my dashboard.
-Belle is crying because she just gave up her whole life to save her father. She now has to spend the rest of her days as a prisoner isolated with only talking teapots and a monster as company. She did one of the bravest possible things she could have done. He’s hardly a prince, but she changes his heart and sees past his exterior.
-Ariel is crying because she wants to be on the surface, she feels trapped, and her father just yelled at her in rage about her interests. He destroyed all her ‘treasures’ and now she is left feeling more alone and trapped than before. She didn’t ‘wait’ for her Prince. She sought out Ursula and gave up what was dearest to her just to meet him. She left everything behind for what she wanted, loved, and dreamed of.
-Jasmine is crying because in three days she has to married, and she doesn’t love a single man who came for her hand in marriage. She ran away from her comfortable sheltered life in the palace to live on the street, and falls for a homeless man. How is that waiting for a prince?
- I don’t actually remember Aurora crying, but through the course of the movie she learns that her whole life (with the three faries) is a lie, she’s not actually Briar Rose as she thinks, that she’s betrothed, and then theres the whole deal with the witch wanting to kill her. I think thats reason enough to cry. Finally, she didn’t even wait for her Prince. She was essentially  in a coma.
-Cinderella was basically a slave, her family kept her locked in the attic, they were cruel to her, her only friends we mice. Even her name was demeaning, like the cinder girl. Finally she has a beautiful dress to go to a ball, and her step sisters tear that apart too. She’s got nothing. Isn’t that reason enough to cry?
-First of all this is contradictory since Mulan is crying in this picture, and THEN she’s also the ‘fighting’ one. She’s crying because her elderly father is being sent off to war, and will most likely die. She goes in his place, defying everyone and everything from her culture, to save his life. (OH AND SHE DOESN’T MARRY A PRINCE)

 My legs are shaking. Holy cow, there is no way
 I can do this. None.
 One minute, 29 secods
 I glance around at the faces surrounding the
 room. Of course my Meeting would take place in
 the gross. overcrowded cateteria
 One minute, six seconds.
 Somewhere within these four wals, someone
 has the exact same countdown on their wrist.
 They're going through the exact same pressure as
 me.
 54 seconds.
 Mom said I shouid be excited, not nervous. Yet
 still find myset wiping my sweaty pams on my
 dress. I can't beleve she talked me into wearing a
 dress I mean, shouldn't my Soul Mate meet me
 as I normaly am? All plain jeans, blah shirts, and
 wild brown curis?
 30 seconds
 Something deep within me tels me to stand up.

 triends, I'm on what they like to cal the "fast track" people

 Two weeks, six days, fiteen hours. The clock keeps ticking.

 The days are getting so close now Fm pretty sure
 my uncontrolable excitement is starting to seriously annoy
 everyone around me. My friends tease me incessantly about

 At one week, three days, and seven hours, the clock stops
 Instead of a soul mate I get condolences, a therapist, and a
 broken clock
 he had atways tried to cover up his clock, it made him teel
 uneasy and he preferred not to know. He want the moment to be
 right because it feel right, not because the numbers on his wrist
 however accurate they might be) said so.
 Even so, He knew it is soon, the exact time slipped his mind but
 he knew that there were only hours left when he showered that
 morning. He had casually wondered what happens to the clock
 when it reaches zero...
 And so, on this day, the most important day of his life, Sean
 made no unusual etfort, the red scart around his wrist stopped
 the nerves. And the board under his feet distracted his mind.
 Where was he going? Sean wasn't sure. Fate knew
 Grinding to a stop at a busy road, his eyes were drawn to a boy
 in a bright blue sweatshirt, caretuly unnwrapping a bright red
 scarf from his right wrist He had his eyes closed, and appeared
 to be holding his breath
 Suddenly he opened his eyes, but before he looked at his wrist
 he giance upwards. Sean felt the thump of his heart stopping as
 their eyes met.
 The boy in blue began to run to Sean, his face full of happiness
 and uncertainty. forgetting to watch tramc. Sean was too late. A
 he could do was shout
 Bue was becoming stained with red as Sean ran to the fallen
 boy, He Iitted his right wrist to find the clock stopped at Od 0h Dm
 1s and with a haunting feeling he began to unwrap his own wrist,
 he ddn't know what to hope for
 Sean's clock had stopped at Od 0h Om 1s
 There's a minute or so left.
 I am stil in my room, doodling on my laptop.
 The numbers bink to zero andi gasp.
 Ive drawn the most anatomically correct and dynamic figure I've
 ever been able to draw.
 "You excited? he asked.
 1 can hardly stay soIl she replied. She could hear him chucking on the
 other side of the phone. His volce was deep when he spoke and she
 wondered if 1that's what he sounded ike in real life. She looked back down
 at her watch. One minute, forty seconds. She bounced in her place.
 She could hear the honking of cars on the other end. "Where are you?
 she asked
 Taking a wak
 he said. Then he gasped.
 "What? she asked, worried. Even though they had never officially met
 and had never seen a phato of the other, she had come to care for this
 voice on the other end of the phone. They had began e-mailing and soon
 they had grown very antached to each other
 see her. he said, in hushed tones. "On, my God, I see her.
 She knew who he was referring to. His clock counted down only a few
 seconds before hers. She felt her hopes falter, though she should have
 known trom the beginning that they could never have been together.
 "On, good!" she said, feigning happiness.
 She stepped off the curb and made to cross the road. A loud honk made
 her head snap around to see a truck racing towards her at ful speed.A
 hand grabbed her trozen body and puled her back. She clutched the
 stranger tightly, shivering. The clock on her wrist beeped as she looked
 up into green eyes.
 The boy put his phone to his ear. "Helo,
 he said, and his voice echoed
 from the speaker of her phone.
