God, Ignorant, and Love: HE WO MAN FE MALE HU MAN PER SON visual-poetry »swofehuperx by richard tipping (+) [vial mitosisisyourtosis men fabricated the idea that they are the default sex to compensate for their biological inferiority and general superfluousness this is not just the natural order this is the language of a patriarchal culture rhysiare Omg no, you are wrong on so many levels and as a linguist this makes me ache something terrible. In my linguistics dass in undergrad, we actually made fun of people who think like you along these lines and for good reason, because you are wholly ignorant and are choosing to spin narratives about things and fields which you know completely nothing about yet pretend you do. 1 She: This word evolved naturally from Old English from seo/heo which were just words to refer to feminine-female people evolving from Proto- Germanic words meaning that/there. He as a word evolved from the same ideas but Proto-Germanic words for thishere, Your idea of patriarchal language further falls apart when you compare this part of English to other Germanic languages, of which English is related, the words in German for he and she are 'er and sie", completely unrelated So it is by clear happenstance, not some patriarchal conspiracy that the words he and "she in English have similar form. 2. Woman: Oh god this one always gets my goat when people go for this one. Man did not used to mean "male", man used to mean humanity/human being, the old words in Old English for male adult person and female adult person were werman and wifman respectively, we can see this relation in words like werewolf and wife as being the remnants of the base "wer- and the base wif-. Woman evolved phonologically from the word wifman by natural processes where the 'f sound dropped and the became lax. Man dropped its wer stem for reasons mostly unknown but I can guarantee have nothing to do with patriarchy because phonological change has no basis in that. 3. Female: Male and Female actually come etymologically from two completely different words. Male comes from Old French masle which meant masculine, while Female came from Old French as well femella which meant young woman. This is another case, just like he and she where the words coincidentally ended up looking similar without having any direct correlation in historical linguistic processes to make them as such 4 Hman: This word etymologically derives from Proto-Indo- European "ghomon which means earthly being as opposed to heavenly being which would refer to gods. You have some small glimmer of hope here in that the word does eventually branch off into the word for man in some languages but this is still too small of a precedent to base any conspiratorial thinking like you are doing off of 5. Person: This one offends me the most, simply because I love the fuck out of Etruscan language and your continued ignorance just irks me at this point. Person derives from persona from Latin which meant the same meaning, which ultimately derived from phersu Etruscan for mask as Etruscans would often have theatre performers use masks to give identity to the performers. So never once did "person have any meaning to do with son So yes, this IS the natural order or language. Please never proselytise your faulty ideology and misandrist thinking within speaking about word origins and morphology again, as unless you actually do fact checking I will school the everloving hell out of you, stay in vour lane. Animals, Desperate, and Dogs: sistercrow stormcloak Cilford the Big Red Dog by Sandara OH MY GOD Can we have a Clifford live action movie? Not a kids movie either Like, Emily Elizabeth's parents are working for a government agency developing a super soldier serum. None of their testing is working and they start testing the serum on larger mammals in hopes of seeing better results. They inject a variety of animals, including a dog Nothing. They are desperate and on the verge of having their project shut down when they notice one of the test dogs is pregnant. It gives birth and they bring one of the puppies home for their daughter To their shock, the puppy they brought home starts to grow at an incredible rate, its fur mutating into a brilliant red as it does so. They are ecstatic because their research has finally seen a result, albeit one they weren't expecting. There is only one problem Clifford has become attached to Emily and refuses to leave her side Emily, too, has fallen in love with her new pet. They decide to let their project be canceled rather than try to separate the two. Unfortunately the government discovers their secret and begins a campaign to retrieve Clifford at any costs. During the initial conflict, Emily Elizabeth's parents are killed trying to help her and Clifford escape Emily and her dog flee into the wild. This sets the opening of the movie Over the course of the movie, Emily and Clifford are on the run and we see Emily grow into a young woman, everything about her honed into a survivalist expert. She and Clifford roam the backwoods constantly in fear of being captured. On one of her rare trips into towrn one day, Emily witnesses a bank robbery in progress involving multiple hostages. She calls Clifford and the two of them save the lives of the hostages but wreck the bank in the process. The local news capture footage of Clifford and it isn't long before the military arrives in town Emily wants to just run away again, but she sees that the military is destroying the town, driving people out of their homes and destroying property in their search. She decides that enough is enough and rides Clifford back into town and fights the military. Amidst the fighting a huge truck arrives. A general (who was her parent's superior officer) gets out and smirks. He tells Emily Elizabeth that Clifford's mother wasn't the only animal that gave birth to a litter of babies after receiving an injection. The back of the truck unfolds to reveal a massive tabby cat. The cat strains against its bindings and tears free immediately leaping onto a nearby group of soldiers and devouring them. Emily is horrified and orders Clifford to attack What follows is the dramatic battle between Clifford and the mutant cat. Clifford has strength, but the cat is too fast and agile. It looks like Clifford is down for the count, when the townsfolk, recognizing that Clifford is on their side, come to his aid. They distract the cat long enough for him to finish the beast off for good The military retreats, the general swearing vengeance on the two of them, and Emily and Clifford ride off into the night once more. But the legend of the big red dog has already started. And Emily Elizabeth knows that the day will come when she and Clifford will need to ride into battle against the forces of evil once more The credits roll Post credits, the screen fades to black for a moment. The sound of waves crashing on shore fills the air. The screen flashes brilliant white The light of the lighthouse moves on, revealing a rocky shore on a rainy day. The camera pans down to find Clifford and Emily gazing out to sea. A massive object hangs in the air off the coast, obscured in the clouds. A smaller object rapidly approaches them. It resolves itseltf into an advanced helicopter that silently lands just down the shore from them. Clifford lets out a low growl but Emily quiets him with a hand on his leg. A lone figure emerges from the aircraft, huddling his arms around himself to fight off the cold He approaches the two. His hair is short and somewhat curly. He wears glasses and a grey flannel shirt and seems unlikely to pose a threat to the two "Emily Elizabeth," he says over the sound of the crashing surf, "I worked with your parents. It's taken us a while to find you, after the Birdwell Island incident." "And who exactly is 'us'," she responds, eyes narrowing suspiciously. gnoring her question, the man continues. "Me and Clifford have a lot in common, actually. He smiles a little awkwardly, then presses on. "I was hoping you might be interested in meeting my boss. He's fairly excited to talk with you. You still haven't answered my question. Who are you and who do you work for?" The man smiles. "My name is Banner. And I'm hear to talk to you about the Avengers Initiative. mo re Fun on likealaugh.org I Would Watch It

Blessed, Books, and Driving: Forbes 30Defining and driving the world THE 2019 of news and content 30 Under 30 2019: Meet The Millennials Changing The Face Of Media Betches Media Cofounders, Betches Media is botov al Since launching Betches in 2011 as a WordPress blog, CEO Aleen Kuperman, COO Samantha Fishbein and CCO Jordana Abraham have turned the women's lifestyle and entertainment site into a full-fledged multimedia company, expanding into podcasts, live events, newsletters and books. In 2017, Betches' revenue exceeded $5 million, Forbes estimates. So blessed. So moved. So grateful. BUT REALLY. We know it’s not typical for us to get personal in an instagram post but for anyone who’s ever wondered what goes into this account and the company behind it we’ll break our rule this one time. When we started Betches we had literally no idea what we were doing or what we wanted to get out of it. Being a female entrepreneur was not necessarily the “trendy” and exalted path that it is now, and lots of people, especially men told us along the way we couldn’t get to where we are bc we didn’t have this this or that, or do things the traditional way, or have the same vision as they did. Well, it’s true we didn’t have money, or mentors, or any business education between the three of us, and ya, we said fuck a lot. We hope that we can inspire any young woman out there who currently doubts herself and wonders if she’ll ever be able to do it (whatever it is) - the answer is yes, you can. We’re so thankful to our team and all the work you’ve put in to help us get here. Let’s fucking drink. @samifish @aleen @jordanaabraham

It wasn’t. The photo, taken by Bernie Boston, is of George Edgerly Harris III better known by his stage name Hibiscus. He was a member of the San Francisco based radical gay liberation theater troupe the Cockettes. He died of AIDS in 1982 at the time AIDS was still referred to by the name GRID which stood for Gay Related Immuno-Deficiency. The photo was taken at a protest at the Pentagon. I had no idea who he was, thank you. This is one example of the Mandela Effect phenomena, where an iconic moment is reenacted with a hippy woman so many times that people think that’s the story and thus another gay man is written out of history. Thanks for the photo. I had no idea. Wow. This photo was taken by Bernie Boston, a black/native man who willingly stood up to a chapter of the KKK and earned their respect among other things I get the subject is important, but please dont erase Bernie. I knew him personally and he deserves to be remembered and by only remembering the subject, a white man, you erase a black man. @vaspider could you reblog this version too, please? I am deeply upset by Bernie’s erasure from his own work. Reblogging for credit to the photographer, and so I can look up his work on desktop later.

Soon-Yi Previn is not Woody Allen’s kid. She is the adopted daughter of his ex girlfriend, Mia Farrow, and her ex husband. It’s important to note that Soon-Yi was of age and consented to everything. Yes, it’s still fucking creepy but she is not his kid.

Woody Allen is a hugeantic piece of shit so if you want to rag on him, let’s focus on the true things:

- He pursued a sexual relationship and eventual marriage with a young woman he helped raise for 12 years and described his relationship with her before the marriage as “paternal.” (The way that tweet should have been worded.)

- He included jokes in his stand up comedy routine about his first wife’s sexual assault.

- He definitely more than likely sexually abused his adopted daughter, Dylan. You can read about the case and decide for yourself. But come on.

- He has always romanticized gigantic age differences in relationships in his films with girls that are barely-legal. (Juliette Lewis was 19 when she played opposite him. He was 56.)

- He has most of Hollywood wrapped around his skeevy finger and it’s gross. No one wants to let Dylan Farrow have a voice against him because he’s so “loved” and celebrated as an icon in Hollywood. Much like Bill Cosby was…hmm…

- Seriously Dylan has been trying to talk about this for 25 years and people won’t listen. He had been in therapy for inappropriate behavior toward her before anything was presented to the police.

- 2 babysitters and a tutor backed up Dylan’s claim.

- Here’s the judge’s 33 page ruling in which he basically says Mr.Allen’s behavior is gross and disgusting and children need to be protected from him.

2017 was the year we called out Weinstein.. 2018 can be he purge of Woody Allen

Woody Allen should have been purged a long ass time ago. Family, Fire, and Memes: Man Sets Ex-Girlfriend on Fire and Abandons Her Baby on the Side of The Road After She Asks For a Paternity Test @balleralert Man Sets Ex-Girlfriend on Fire and Abandons Her Baby on the Side of The Road After She Asks For a Paternity Test - blogged by @MsJennyb ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ A Phoenix man has been arrested and charged with murder after setting his ex-girlfriend on fire for asking him to take a paternity test. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ According to CBS News, officials cracked open the case on March 3, when police found a baby girl in a car seat on the road in 49-degree weather. Upon further investigation, officials found an adult shoe, a diaper bag and a wallet with an ID that belonged to 21-year-old Jasmine Dunbar. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As a result, officials contacted Dunbar’s family, who had confirmed the baby belonged to the 21-year-old. But, where was the young woman? Dunbar’s godmother told police that her goddaughter had organized a meeting with Antwaun Ware to discuss establishing paternity for her 7-month-old daughter. But, she never returned. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When officials finally got in contact with Ware, he said he picked Dunbar and her daughter up and dropped her back off after they got into an argument over the paternity test. But, he later changed his story, allegedly telling officials that he physically assaulted the woman and left her in a field. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As for the baby, he reportedly told officials that he dropped the baby near his girlfriend’s house because he thought someone would retrieve her and take care of her. However, after leaving the baby on the side of the road, he told officials that he returned to Dunbar’s body and set her on fire with gasoline and watched her body burn. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As a result, Ware was charged with one count of first-degree murder, one count of kidnapping and one count of abandonment of a body, and child abuse. He is currently being held on a $1 million bond.

Facebook, Memes, and Party: Washington State Man Arrested and Charged After Raping A Young Woman As She Died From Overdose @balleralert Washington State Man Arrested and Charged After Raping A Young Woman As She Died From Overdose - blogged by @MsJennyb ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ A Washington State man is facing a slew of charges for raping a young woman as she died from an overdose. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ According to PEOPLE, the incident occurred earlier this month at a party, where 18-year-old Alyssa Mae Noceda snorted a line of crushed Percocet pills before she ingested a “dab” of liquid THC that she received from the 19-year-old suspect, Brian Roberto Varela. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Within less than a minute, Varela said Noceda passed out on his bed. According to the arrest warrant, as Noceda died in his room, Varela texted a group of his co-workers about his situation with pictures, saying “LOL I think she OD’d, still breathing, I’m smashing her to pass the time.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Varela then used the young woman’s finger to unlock her phone and post a message on her Snapchat to suggest she had run away. He then took a nap next to Noceda’s lifeless body, just before clocking in for a double-shift at Dairy Queen, where he disclosed more details about his night with Noceda. “She died having sex with me,” he told his co-workers. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ However, the co-workers quickly informed officials about Varela’s situation, as they linked Noceda’s name to her worried mother’s Facebook page. After gathering the information, officials had enough probable cause for an arrest. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ They then went to Varela’s home, where they found Noceda’s lifeless body stuffed in a plastic crate in his bedroom. The 19-year-old was then arrested and charged with rape, manslaughter, and homicide by controlled substance with a $500,000 bond for each charge.

When she was picked up by authorities, her face was said to be completely disfigured from a series of brutal attacks. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ The woman's lawyer claimed Tuesday that 32-year-old Galeano would go into a jealous rage when anyone liked his wife’s photos on Facebook. As punishment, he began to beat her for every like she received on her posts. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Galeano also took over her Facebook page, posting photos of her, and continuing to beat her whenever people reacted to the photos. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Lawyer Arnaldo Martinez expressed that Ortigoza was fearful of getting a notification because she knew it would result in a beating. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ The victim also kept the matter to herself, as her friends had no clue that any of this was taking place. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Martinez said: "Her mouth was all broken, she was very damaged, her skin was hanging off because of the blows. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ "He controlled the victim's social networking sites, he controlled the messages and photos, and for every 'like' she received from her friends, the woman received a beating because he accused her of having a relationship with them." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Martinez said the only thing that saved the victim’s teeth was that "he would put a cloth in her mouth so that she would not scream during the brutal beatings that she suffered daily." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Galeano’s father reported his son to the police after he believed the woman would die from the last attack. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Ortigoza underwent reconstruction operations on the nasal septum and lips. Galeano was charged with attempted homicide, deprivation of liberty and coercion, which carry a maximum penalty of 30 years.

Bad, Batman, and Crime: APRIL 20, 2017 9:46am PT by Mia Galuppo, Aaron Couch Joss Whedon on 'Batgirl' and Exploring the "Damage" Behind His Next Superhero "I started getting obsessed with how a young woman could get hardcore enough to need to put on the cowl said the director of upcoming DC project. his "She came up, and I started getting obsessed with how a young woman could get hardcore enough to need to put on the cowl. Like, what's her damage?" he told Heat Vision. He noted that unlike Batman, Batgirl has no childhood tragedy that forced her into a life of crime fighting. "She didn't have her parents killed in an alley. Who is this person, who decides _ rather than being forced to by their childhood trauma decides to pick up this life?" he said. "How intense and driven that person is I just couldn't stop thinking about it." bruce-wqyne: thefingerfuckingfemalefury: starrcat: thefingerfuckingfemalefury: natsmiscblog: kittykat8311: out-there-on-the-maroon: the-catholic-geek: mangaluva: markhamillz: I want to die. That phrase “what’s her damage” is what really scares me here IE he thinks he’s gotta damage her to make her Batgirl because he has literally zero concept of who Barbara Gordon is as a person IE we’re probably gonna have to see Babs put through some act of extreme violence (oh god please don’t let it be sexual violence PLEASE) to traumatize her into becoming Batgirl Seriously what is wrong with her dressing like Batman for a party just to piss off her dad and winding up stopping a coupla supervillains and deciding to keep doing it because this shit’s awesome and no, Batman, you don’t get to tell her to stop, you don’t get to tell her ANYTHING because she’s not your sidekick Lil Dick Grayson making heart eyes in the background the whole time Seriously Joss there is nothing wrong with that concept, you can make a woman into a badass without damaging her first I don’t know anything about Batgirl and this sounds awful Keep Joss Whedon away from all women, and especially young women. This sounds disastrous @thefingerfuckingfemalefury have you heard about this bullshit? I’m hoping that the bad publicity about Joss Whedon that came out recently will get DC to kick him off the movie and put someone…ANYONE…else on this film She admired her dad who was a cop and she wanted to be a hero like him. In Joss Whedon world, no hero can just…be a hero because they want to help peopleEvery hero has to have some Dark Terrible Thing driving them to be a hero or forcing them to be a hero because Joss Whedon is so cynical he can’t imagine human beings just wanting to be GOOD to each other Sure, you can’t be a hero just because you’re a good person who wants to fight crime like her father whom she admires so much. Nooo. Definitely not. You must go through some trauma first, everybody knows that

I think the gradual normalisation of being open about emotional experiences and feelings in general is ace. And I think creating images and words about mental illness can also expose some of the giant flaws with the rigidity of the psychiatric model when it comes to the DSM (preoccupations with fitting into one label-one box-one specific set of symptoms are challenged when you see or read stuff you relate to by someone with a different Dx, for example. This is positive). Sharing drawings and being related to has helped me see my own issues as a much more complex Web of Stuff than whatever clinical list of bullet points I may resemble most closely. Two or three years ago I think the dialogue in the bottom image would have pissed me off. "How dare anyone who didn't have severe illness relate to my experience?" Etc. I self-perpetuated negative beliefs about myself and my behaviours because I'd been treated as "young woman with X, Y, Z Disorders" for so long. And I really thought everything I felt-went through must have been because of some psychiatric acronyms. Then I thought some more and realised what people were probably relating to at large was my human experience; My insecurities and fears and happiness and silliness and all the threads of my personality that run independent of my illness or labels i'd had lobbed at me. We are multi-threaded, and they can feed into one another, but blimey do we all have shit going on. This is a right ramble from what is probably a giant can o' worms, but I just find it interesting ya know? I like how the platforms we have for expression now can open up these little corners of mutual understanding-solidarity that might otherwise have not been there.
