It’s innovating, refreshing, revolutionary, and even groundbreaking. This is a milestone for the culture. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The film—based on Marvel Comics’ fictional character of the same name, debuted on February 16th, breaking worldwide box office records and setting the table for national dialogue. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ One day before its release, Coogler sat down with retired NBA player KareemAbdulJabbar to share his views on why ‘Black Panther’ is such a big deal and why it could be beneficial for all races. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “The concept of an African story, with actors of African descent at the forefront—combined with the scale of modern franchise filmmaking, is something that hasn’t really been seen before,” Coogler told Abdul-Jabbar. “You feel like you’re getting the opportunity of seeing something fresh, being a part of something new—which I think all audiences want to experience, regardless of whether they are African descent or not.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Later in the Hollywood Reporter piece, Coogler detailed what he strives for viewers to gain from watching ‘Black Panther’. “I hope they take out of it a sense of enjoyment [but also] something that is not disposable,” he ......to read the rest log on to BallerAlert.com (clickable link on profile)

Beautiful, Children, and Memes: My Black Will Forever Be Beautiful @balleralert My Black Will Forever Be Beautiful - blogged by @peachkyss ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We don’t need anyone to tell us how beautiful, talented, sophisticated, and talented we are. Many of us have known how unique we are from the beginning. But to see everyone come together for something as positive as 'Black Panther' is simply amazing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Not only are we dressing for the cause but it is becoming an everyday statement with rocking our natural textures, African prints, and just appreciating our Melanin more. Many may say that we are overdoing it but there is no such thing. We just haven’t been doing it enough. Understand that we are simply appreciating our culture for what it is and not giving a damn about what any has to say about it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I am unsure why people are surprised at how black people come together. We can come together for a great cause and support our own. Understand that this is only the beginning for our culture. No need to bring each other down. We are here to uplift and bring each other together. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Remember, our black will forever be beautiful. Don’t allow anyone to tell you different. Continue to educate our children every moment we get, so that it doesn’t seem like a fad to others. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This may be new to some, but baby our melanin been popping!

Community, Fall, and Feminism: Cardi B Touches on Feminism in Recent Interview: "Anything a Man Can Do, I Can Do'" @balleralert Cardi B Touches on Feminism in Recent Interview: “Anything a Man Can Do, I Can Do” - blogged by: @ashleytearra ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In such a superficial, male-dominated industry, CardiB doesn’t fall victim to riding the wave that she’s “expected” to ride. Instead, she has unapologetically crafted her own, with no-holds-barred. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Not only a rapper but a woman, too, the Bronx native certainly has faced many challenges. However, she continues to prevail, time and time again—living loudly and proudly—despite those who consistently fight so hard to bring her to silence. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When it’s all said and done, she’s just a “regular, degular, shmegular” girl, from the streets of NY, who decided to go for it… and won. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ She’s simply Cardi—no more, no less—and she proved that in a recent sit-down with i-D Magazine. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ During the candid interview, the 25-year-old opened up about her thoughts on feminism and how her stance in the culture is sometimes underestimated. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “Being a feminist is such a great thing, and some people feel like someone like me can’t be as great as that,” she says. “They think feminism is great and only a woman who can speak properly, who has a degree, who is a boss, a businessperson… they think only [someone like] Michelle Obama can be a feminist.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And, at a time where even the slightest mention of the word “feminism” still acts as a touchy topic amongst the millennial community, Cardi didn’t end it there. She spoke her mind and spoke it truthfully. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “But, being a feminist is real simple; it’s that a woman can do things the same as a man. I’m equal to a n****. Anything a man can do, I can do,” she adds. “I can finesse, I can hustle. We have the same freedom. I was top of the charts. I’m a woman, and I did that. I do feel equal to a man.”

For others, it's a topic or a “thing.” Many of us dream about turning our passions into business ideas, but most of us have no idea how to even get started! - Davis is a young entrepreneur born and raised in Peru (South America) who at the age of 15 lost his father due to a disease and with no other options his mother made the decision to immigrate to the United States looking for a better future. - It was surely not easy to start from zero and to adapt to a completely new culture or language, but growing up with two hard-working parents who taught him great values and preservation, Davis never gave up and was ready to overcome any challenge. - Losing his father due to a disease, awakened the interest to find different healthy foods, methods and resources to heal and make our bodies perform in an optimum way, an interest which became a PASSION for fitness, nutrition and the practice of healthy habits. - Understanding the importance and the power of food, Davis was aware of the AMAZING resources his native country (Peru) had to offer to the world 🌎 and looking for ways to make it available to everyone, he created his first supplement company: Apu Nutrition INC @apunutrition 🍃 And as a first supplement he choose a superfood called “Maca” an amazing root with tons of great benefits for our bodies. Beer, Brains, and Confidence: TO TRAVEL R- Travel is good for lots of things, but it can also increase mental well-being, ☝️ and not just in the short-term. Whether you’re traveling for business, on a one-week family holiday, or have sold everything to pursue a life on the road, traveling can make you a happier person by building self-confidence, providing new experiences and memories, breaking routine and allowing you to meet people from all over the world. 🤔 So next time you find yourself heading out on a shopping spree to lift your mood, why not put that money towards a flight instead?👀 Here are a few ways in which travel can make you happier: ✔️Happiness is infectious. When locals are happy, smiling and friendly, it has an immediate knock-on effect. Smiles and happiness are contagious! ✔️Being away makes you appreciate your family and home. 🏡 Being away from things we often take for granted, family, close friends, home… It makes us appreciate them more. ✔️You make new friends! It’s much easier to make new friends on the road than it is at home, where people are less inclined to chat to strangers on a bus or strike up conversation at the bar. When people are away from home, there seem to be less boundaries to cross and making friends becomes much easier, whether it’s a local curious to know where you’ve come from or a fellow travelers keen to have someone with whom to enjoy a beer or share a taxi. ✔️Education. Whether it’s learning a new skill such as cooking Thai food or learning a new language, learning about a new culture, travel presents ways in which we can further our knowledge and education. Learning makes our brains more active, which psychologists have found increases our level of happiness, articularly when learning something we find enjoyable. - Now that you know about the great benefits of traveling… what’s your next destination? 😉 Comment below!👇 - travel happiness culture millionairementor
