America, Community, and Facebook: NICK CANNON FROM AINT PING got #AG cagt IDK, CO THIS BET EREASON? “As a man, an artist, and a voice for my community, I will not be silenced.” America might still have talent, but Nick Cannon will no longer be overseeing it. The “Drumline” actor, who has hosted NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” for the past eight seasons, announced in a lengthy Facebook post Monday that he would not be returning to the reality competition series. Cannon made the decision to exit the franchise amid controversy over a racially charged joke he told in his recent Showtime stand-up special “Stand Up, Don’t Shoot.” According to Cannon, executives at NBC believed he “disparaged the brand” and later threatened to terminate his contract. “After days of deliberating over some extremely disappointing news that I was being threatened with termination by Executives because of a comedy special that was only intended to bring communities closer together, I was to be punished for a joke,” he wrote on Instagram and Facebook. “This has weighed heavy on my spirit. It was brought to my attention by my ‘team’ that NBC believed that I was in breach of contract because I had disparaged their brand. In my defense, I would ask how so? Or is this just another way to silence and control an outspoken voice who often battles the establishment.” In his stand-up special, which premiered on Showtime Friday, Cannon reportedly riffs on his experience hosting “America’s Got Talent” and how the series has changed his core fanbase. “I honestly believe, once I started doing ‘America’s Got Talent,’ they took my real n****r card. They did! Because then, like, these type of people started showing up to my shows,” Cannon said in the special, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “I can’t do the real n*****r stuff no more, because then they’ll put me on TMZ.” He also added that NBC stood for “N****r Better Come on” and that the network didn’t allow him to speak freely at risk of losing “white money.” “I find myself in a dark place having to make a decision that I wish I didn’t have to, but as a man, an artist, and a voice for my community, I will not be silenced, controlled or treated like a piece of property,” he continued in the post. “There is no amount of money

Disney, Memes, and Monster: A N N O U N C E S CLOSING DOWN THE CIRCUS A message from Kenneth Feld, chairman and CEO of Feld Entertainment, the producer of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey After much evaluation and deliberation, my family and I have made the difficult business decision that Ringing Bros. and Bamum & Bailey will hold its final performances in May of this year. Ringing Bros. ticket sales have been declining, but following the transition of the elephants off the road, we saw an even more dramatic drop. This, coupled with high operating costs, made the circus an unsustainable business for the company. Nearly 50 years ago, my father founded our company with the acquisition of Ringling Bros The circus and its people have continually been a source of inspiration and joy to my family and me, which is why this was such a tough business decision to make. The decision was even more difficult because of the amazing fans that have become part of our extended circus famity over the years, and we are extremely grateful to the millions of familes who have made Ringling Bros part of their lives for generations. We know Ringling Bros. isn't cnly our family business, but also your family tradition. ng Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Presents Circus XTREME wil conclude its tour at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence, RIL, on May 7, 2017, and Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Presents out of This World will conclude its tour at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, NY, on May 21, 2017, We you wa come to celebrate this American icon for one last time before our tours conclude. r company provides quality, live family entertainment, and we invite you to bring your family to one of our other ents, including Marvel Universe LIVE!. Monster Jam, Monster Energy Supercross, AMSOIL Arenactoss, Disney On Ice and Disney Live as well as future productions. or all of live entertainment produced at Feld tertainment. We learned from the circus, and applied those learnings to our other productions. Without Ringling Bros., we wouldn't have the vibrant live entertainment company that we have today. Ringiing Bros. will always be part of Feld Entertainment and its spirit will live on in every production and project we do. BREAKING NEWS!!! RINGLING BROS SAYS NO MORE CIRCUS!!!!!! It ends in May!✨ No news yet on where the animals will go, but this is huge news! ✨See the letter from the CEO from ringlingbros.com ▪️ "Feld Entertainment Announces Final Performances of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® Circus in May 2017" "Ellenton, Fla. – January 14, 2017 – Feld Entertainment Inc., parent company of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® and the world’s largest producer of live family entertainment, announced today that the iconic 146-year-old circus would hold its final performances later this year. Ringling Bros.®’ two circus units will conclude their tours with their final shows at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, R.I., on May 7, and at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, N.Y., on May 21, 2017. The decision to end the circus tours was made as a result of high costs coupled with a decline in ticket sales, making the circus an unsustainable business for the company. Following the transition of the elephants off the circus, the company saw a decline in ticket sales greater than could have been anticipated."
