MIT news article on the image and the team: http://news.mit.edu/2019/mit-haystack-first-image-black-hole-0410 From the article: An international team of over 200 astronomers, including scientists from MIT’s Haystack Observatory, has captured the first direct images of a black hole. They accomplished this remarkable feat by coordinating the power of eight major radio observatories on four continents, to work together as a virtual, Earth-sized telescope. In a series of papers published today in a special issue of Astrophysical Journal Letters, the team has revealed four images of the supermassive black hole at the heart of Messier 87, or M87, a galaxy within the Virgo galaxy cluster, 55 million light years from Earth. … The Haystack EHT team includes John Barrett, Roger Cappallo, Joseph Crowley, Mark Derome, Kevin Dudevoir, Michael Hecht, Lynn Matthews, Kotaro Moriyama, Michael Poirier, Alan Rogers, Chester Ruszczyk, Jason SooHoo, Don Sousa, Michael Titus, and Alan Whitney. Additional contributors were MIT alumni Daniel Palumbo, Katie Bouman, Lindy Blackburn, Sera Markoff, and Bill Freeman, a professor in MIT’s Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. She’s listed as an “additional contributor.”  Topkek. reblogging because ive seen katie boumans name several times but this is the first time ive heard about andrew chael. he deserves to be recognized. 850k lines of code is no joke.

Why would i want to watch his vids? Everything he’s done past like 2013 fuckin sucks anyway Because this whole thing is being blown put of proportion (i mean i saw this coming because people cant help but find something wrong with felix but) All ben does is reviews memes about him at the end of the vid (like theres nothing political that would even have kids being “persuade”) speaking of which people need to stop with the whole “the ”‘kids’“ who watch pewdiepie are stupid and we need to babysit them or else theyll do something stupid ” Ah yes because children definitely aren’t even slightly easy to influence whatsoever Of course kids can be influenced but what im saying is that we need to give “‘kids’”(note the quotations on both this post and my last one) more credit Them seeing ben Shapiro critic memes isnt suddenly gonna make them a trump supporter Ok but im not saying “kids” im saying kids as in the literal children that make up part of his fanbase The not actually 9 year olds that he likes to joke are 9 year old viewers? its a GOOD thing that hes introducing children to conservative speakers. they need to know the truth before the left pulls them into their indoctrination. my only issue with it is that he didnt get an ancap speaker instead. He introduced them to a meme and the person the meme is about Nothing more nothing less NOTHING IN THE VID WAS POLITICAL Pewdiepie and his fanbase has been making jokes and memes about different personels appearing and host his videos from time to time and it’s not the first time Pewds surprised them with having the person they joked about to appear at the end. Same with the twitch streamer girl whom appeared at the end card one time. It was a funny thing to do and nothing about convincing or trick any political movement at all. Even if you don’t enjoy his videos, you can’t just assume things without real facts or without watching it/them.And the majority of his fans aren’t even kids anymore, but people whom mostly grew up with him and pre/teens.  For fucks sake it wasn’t even the tiniest bit political I don’t know why the mainstream media has such a fucking hate boner for Felix good golly.

That consumption is equivalent to 55+ million humans per day in the United States… roughly 1/6 the entire population. We simply cannot sustain this frivolity, especially for something 99% of us will never use. Destroy golf courses and plant wild grasses and butterfly bushes in their place. Computers, Guns, and Memes: Entire Florida Police Dept busted laundering tens of millions for international drug cartels The village of Bal Harbour, population 2,513, may have a tiny footprint on the northern tip of Miami Beach, but its police department The BalHarbour PD and the Glades County Sheriff’s Office set up a giant money laundering scheme with the purported goal of busting drug cartels & stemming the surge of drug dealing going on in the area. But it all fell apart when federal investigators and the Miami-Herald found strange things going on. The two-year operation, which took in more than $55 million from criminal groups, resulted in zero arrests but netted $2.4 million for the police posing as money launderers. Members of the 12-person task force traveled far and wide to carry out their deals, from Los Angeles to New York to Puerto Rico. Along the way, the small-town cops got a taste of luxury as they used the money for first-class flights, luxury hotels, Mac computers and submachine guns. Meanwhile, the Bal Harbour PD and Glades County Sheriffs were buying all sorts of fancy new equipment. Besides these “official” uses of the money, confidential records obtained by the Miami-Herald show that officers withdrew hundreds of thousands of dollars with no record of where the money went. "They were like bank robbers with badges,” said Dennis Fitzgerald, an attorney and former Drug Enforcement Administration agent who taught undercover tactics for the U.S. State Department. “It had no law enforcement objective. The objective was to make money.” The operation, which was not fully reported to federal authorities, funneled millions of dollars to overseas criminals and interfered with investigations being carried out on known money launderers. - http:-alternativemediasyndicate.com-2017-02-16-entire-florida-police-dept-busted-laundering-tens-millions-international-drug-cartels- 4biddenknowledge rp @theorgonizedearth

Memes, 🤖, and Account: 1 in 4. Workers, 25 and Older, Have Less Than $1,000 Saved For Retirement @baller alert Retirement NEXT EXIT 1 in 4 Workers, 25 and Older, Have Less Than $1,000 Saved For Retirement -blogged by: @msjennyb ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Have you thought about a retirement plan? If so, do you think you have enough money to retire and live comfortably? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Apparently, many people have little to nothing saved for the next chapter, however more than half of those people believe that when the time comes, they will have enough saved to live comfortably. The Employee Benefit Research Institute sponsored the survey of 1,000 people age 25 and over, asking questions pertaining to an individual’s confidence in their retirement plan. In the study, Employee Benefit Research Institute found that about 50% of the people surveyed have less than $25,000 saved for retirement. About half of those workers have said that combined with their spouse, they have less than $1,000 saved for retirement. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Obviously, when talking retirement, the age-range of retirees is an important aspect to factor into the amount saved. According to reports, $25,000 is a decent amount to have saved by the age of 30, if an individual is earning $50,000 a year, as many financial advisers encourage workers to put away about 10% of their income, annually. However, based on the survey, more than half of the individuals involved say that they are content with putting away much less. However, the bigger issue with the lack of retirement preparation and savings, is not that people won’t save, it is that they don’t have the means to. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ According to CNNMoney, most of the people who have reportedly saved less than $1,000, don’t have access to a retirement savings plan at work, i.e. 401(k). As a whole, about 55 million people in this country don’t have access to such a plan. However, in an attempt to combat this issue, President Obama instituted a new program called the myRA, which is a start-up account that is sponsored by the government. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Are you on track to retire and live comfortably? How much do you think you should have saved by retirement? BallerificFinance
