Fun fact, sesame street was created to fill the gap in education for children whose families could not afford to send them to preschool. Sesame street taught basic math and phonics as well as interpersonal skills so that children below the poverty line weren’t starting elementary school behind their more privileged classmates. Here sesame street is trying to fill a gap where supportive adults should be. Where there should be a teacher or a family member or a counselor to help, for whatever reason, there isn’t, so Sesame Street is stepping in. This breed of person has always hated Sesame Street. They hated it for showing black and white children playing together. They hated it for giving children of color the head start that rich white families were paying for. They hated it for Bert and Ernie for showing two MEN who LIVED TOGETHER, for the married black nurse who lived on sesame street when it was first released, and for them explaining death. I feel like there was a pregnancy at some point in its early days and they would have REALLY hated that. These days they don’t (usually) say “I’m not letting my kid watch anything with black kids in it” but they sure throw a tantrum in the youtube comments when Sesame Street DARES to show an autistic girl playing with non-autistic children and being treated like shes anyone else. They lose their shit when Sesame Street has to explain incarceration to 5 year olds. And the muppet in south africa with HIV? Hoo boy. They hate everything Sesame Street stands for and tries to provide. They always have. We just have to ignore them and keep supporting the show. Staff seeing this: i hate to ruin everyone’s fun BUT you guys are so annoying. georgia o’keeffe very specifically stated how much she hated it when people, especially men, sexualized her art. male art critics pushed the interpretation of her artwork as sexual onto her and it upset her VERY deeply: “When people read erotic symbols into my paintings they’re really talking about their own affairs,” O’Keeffe said. Still, the sexualized misconceptions of her work devastated her. “I almost wept,” she wrote of one review in 1921. http://nymag.com/arts/art/reviews/59249/ now, because of some immature dudes in the art community, her work has been sexualized forever, and her paintings are now sexual objects. so like…making pussy jokes about her artwork isn’t just annoying, it’s disrespectful to everything she worked for, and it’s like rubbing her legacy in her face. The male gaze really be like that sometimes huh? I’m a woman and I saw a pussy. Same Those 100% look like vaginas and nothing will convince me otherwise. Another girl here. Energy, Facts, and Friends: Care to debate abortion? factori0 kiwianaroha prochoice-or-gtfo motherbychoice Nah Mood This reminds me of a party I went to last year. I was standing with some friends, chatting, and someone said something that indirectly implied that sexism exists. Some trivial recounting of the basic facts of daily life for most women. Something so mild, so uncontroversial, so mundane that I don't even remember what it was Suddenly, this man standing on the outskirts of our conversational circle piped up with "actually, I think men are more discriminated against than women these days." All conversation died l turned to look at him and he had this smug, insufferable grin on his face relishing this moment, expecting us to waste our time and energy refuting this ridiculous thing he had just said The Devil's Advocate was among us And, in my mind, I saw the next 15+ minutes playing out. The parade of facts and statistics in a vain attempt to defend ourselves, our gender, and to prove that misogyny is real. The glib, snide denials from some shithead who is getting off on our pain and frustration. The Gish Gallop of bullshit that would take a whole evening to properly dismantle. It was depressing and overwhelming. I hated it. I had to kill it before it began So looked him dead in the eye and I said "OK," shrugged, and just walked away Nothing I have ever said to another human being has ever been so crushing As I walked away, I watched the smug grin vanish and confusion and anxiety set in. The rest of the group turned their backs to him and carried on as if he had never spoken - as if he was invisible. He was still staring at me when walked over to another friend and told her what he had said. I pointed him out for her and made direct eye contact with him while we both laughed tl;dr: Don't feed the troll. Let it perish, cold and hungry, in the wasteland of your indifference. It is weak and you are strong. Live your best life Trolls dont deserve your attention

Apparently, Ass, and Doctor: Admit it. You all think robots arejust machines built by humansto makeftheir lives easier Well.aren't they? ive never ive never made anyone s lifeeasierand you know it wilwheaton: lizbethanne: choppers-top-hat: bogleech: titleknown: arabellesicardi: im the robot Again, this is even funnier if you know what a fucking production nightmare, with a possible curse attached to it no less, this robot prop was for the Doctor Who crew… I want to know about the cursed robot So the robot isn’t a guy in a suit, it’s an animatronic/puppet thing, and it wasn’t built for the show. In fact, no one knows who built it, one of the producers just FOUND IT ONE DAY in a building near the studio. It had apparently been built for another production that was cancelled and then just left to gather dust. So they thought “oh cool, let’s make this dumb robot the Doctor’s new companion, it’ll look neat and weird, everyone will have a gas with it.” NOPE.Kamelion was incredibly complicated to operate, so they assigned a guy named Mike Powers to figure out the best way to go about it. Apparently he did a great job streamlining Kamelion’s operation, and then he promptly died in a boating accident (which is where the “curse” idea comes from.) He didn’t leave any notes or instructions, and the show was already behind schedule, so they had to rush Kamelion’s scenes into production with no idea how it worked. It was a gigantic pain in the ass to use, took forever to set up, and needed constant upkeep and repairs. Everyone hated working with the prop, to the point that before Kamelion’s first episode even aired, they had already decided to kill him off later in the same season.Peter Davison, who played the Fifth Doctor, had the most scenes with Kamelion, and absolutely hated it. When Kamelion dies, the Doctor is really sad, but Davison said later that it was one of the best acting jobs of his career, because in reality, he was absolutely giddy with joy at being rid of the thing. tl,dr: In the 80′s a Mystery robot prop built by unknown hands caused chaos on the Doctor Who set. finding an abandoned mystery robot and bringing it home, leading to death, is the most doctor who plot ive ever heard This was no boating accident.

Community, Flexing, and Friends: tanner @TheeTcup Don't ask a girl where she wants to eat. Tell her to guess where you're taking her to eat. Then take her to the first guess. Kyley King @kyley king He's cracked the code we didn't even know we had RANT: its been about a year and a half since i started posting ads on this account, i started in around january 2017 but then my acc got deleted and i stopped until later on in the year. if you had someone tell you that you can quit your waitressing job earning barely $60 a week and earn hundreds more a week online, wouldnt you take it? well i did. i quit my job and i work with a bunch of different businesses and personalities that want to grow their business or page in the return of money for my service. i made my account in 2014 as a hobby since i had just started high school and i was 13 and i didnt have many friends and i thought it would be a way to gain popularity by posting memes (im australian so we start high school at 11-13) but then my page started growing & i started making friends with other people who love sharing memes like me and some awesome creators. my account didnt really start to succeed until the whole jacob sartorius thing where he was a massive meme and i was like the lead account that goofed on him and i gained something like 100k in a month!! it was so awesome. i used to have “no shoutouts or ads ever!” in my bio and people still bring it up. i was THIRTEEN when i made this account, i didnt know a single thing about making money nor did i take interest since i didnt care much abt my future. im 16, nearly 17 now and i got my first job waitressing at 15. i worked for over a year and it was so stressful i hated it so much but then i realised as a career i wanted to pursue entrepreneurial business - and thats what im doing here! i do anywhere from 0-6 ads a week but i post around 10 memes a day if im on schedule. i do make money off my account and im not ashamed. i dont FLEX on u guys like an asshole, i dont waste my money, im saving it so that hopefully one day i can run my own proper business. people think just running a meme page is easy because “all you do is post” and YEAH it is at first but it can get competitive, especially since its my job now. i love my community and i love my followers that support me but its hard since my commmunity is so big that there will always be people that are jealous and will put me down! love u all❣️

No, but that didn’t stop us from violating them in the attempt”</p> </blockquote> <p>Wasnt there a couple who raised a boy as a girl cause of a botched circumcision, and he ended up killing himself? This is a shitty idea and no one can convince me otherwise.</p> </blockquote> <p>its the psychological equivalent. It’s a nonviolent cult idea, but a cult idea none the less</p></blockquote> <p>There’s a difference between raising “theybies” And raising kids without gender roles. Like I was raised very much without concern for gender roles. I wore boys clothing a lot of times to go play. My best friend was a dude and he played Ken in barbies but we would also play dinosaurs together. I got down and dirty and caught snakes and raccoons. Originally I was enrolled in dance classes, but at 6 I said I hated it and waned to do sports instead, so my parents enrolled me in soccer. When we went to mcdonalds and I got a happy meal, my mom would always ask “do you want a girl toy or a boy toy?” I turned out fine. That was a very good way to raise a kid because it never forced me to like this thing over that. It let me find my own interests and enjoy them without being shamed or told “thats not for you.” </p><p>However raising “theybies” is going to be reinforcing the harmful “thats not for you” because of the forceful aversion to anything even remotely representative of gender. Instead of allowing the kid to explore interests across a broad range, it’ll be about forcing the parents ideas of gender on to the child without letting the child explore their own personality, interests, etc. </p></blockquote> <p>Exactly. Like I’m not saying you can’t have kids with interests outside of their traditional gender roles. I dare say that’s entirely normal for many children. But there’s a big difference between that and this.</p>

Be Like, Children, and Coca-Cola: speedoweedo speedoweedo speedoweedo speedoweedo ndiecity speedoweedo speedoweedo on a list of dumb shit i know: o the grass in the original shrek movie is not grass. its hair. they used hair textures for the grass bc the actual grass for some reason in their computer modelling programs would not behave like grass so they used hair textures colored green o elvis presley was a registered DEA officer who asked nixon for the title and was awarded it. What else? o the great escape artist houdini was living in a time period where mysticism, fortune telling, ouija boards, seances and etc were becoming very common place and trendy. and he fucking hated it so much. so much that he would go to seances in disguise and make some bullshit off the wall shit like "my son died last vear can you let me talk to him and the seance person would be like THIS IS YOUR SON HELLO FATHER' then he'd rip off his disguise and be like YOU FRAUD I HAVE NO CHILDREN o He died on Halloween night in detroit and as far as i know every year they hold seances on halloween trying to get in contact with his spirit. If seances work i bet his ghost is just pissed off and not responding out of raw spite o foxes cant snarl like dogs and wolves cus the muscles in their muzzle dont allowe it so they just drop their jaws and scream. o if you were to eat the liver of a polar bear you would succumb to vitamin A poisoning o Graham crackers started off as anti masturbatory aids, Coca-Cola was intended to be a medicine o Mr. John Harvey Kellogg invented corn flakes as a measure to stave off masturbation and was huge into the anti-masturbatory movement, which he believed caused health problems o also in the same vein as houdini shit: he commissioned H.P. Lovecraft to write a piece discrediting mysticism and it fucking exists. He, the fantastic magician, commissioned the fuckn horror fantasy writer to dunk on mysticism. I cannot get over this for any span of time it comes back to slap me each day o also HP Lovecraft was deathly afraid of fish, and was a self-described ichthyophobe A treasure trove of trivia
