We are not as irrational and immature as adults seem to think. We've grown up with financial crises and accept that most of us will be unemployed We no longer flinch at bloody images of war because we've grown up seeing the chaos in the Middle East and elsewhere Most of us are cynical and pessimistic because of the environment we've grown up in which should be explanation enough for our apparent insolence and disrespect, without "experts" having to write articles about it. Has no one ever seen that we are angry at the world we live in? Angry that we will have to clean up your mess, while you hold us in contempt, analysing our responses as though we were another species? I would like adults to treat us not as strange creatures from other world but as human beings with intelligent thought - a little different from yours, perhaps, but intelligent thought nonetheless Stop teaching adults how to behave around us, and instead teach them to respect us Jenni Herd Kilmarnock, E Ayrshire raeseddon: tiffanarchy: 0nechoice: THANK YOU JENNI HERD dang Jenni, GO OFF Teenages: Treat us like people New York Times: What does this perplexing creature want from us? America, Bad, and Be Like: Lou Ohio I need to get my life off my chest. About me. I'm a 46 year old banker and I have been living my whole life the opposite of how I wanted. All my dreams, my passion, gone. In a steady 9-7 job. 6 days a week. For 26 years. I repeatedly chose the safe path for everything, which eventually changed who I was. Today I found out my wife has been cheating on me for the last 10 years. My son feels nothing for me. I realised I missed my father's funeral FOR NOTHING. I didn't complete my novel, travelling the world, helping the homeless. All these things I thought I knew to be a certainty about myself when i was in my late teens and early twenties. If my younger self had met me today, I would have punched myself in the face. I'll get to how those dreams were crushed soon. Let's start with a description of me when I was 20. It seemed only yesterday when I was sure I was going to change the world. People loved me, and I loved people. I was innovative, creative, spontaneous, risk taking and great with people. I had two dreams. The first, was writing a utopic/dystopic book. The second, was travelling the world and helping the poor and homeless. I had been dating my wife for four years by then. Young love. She loved my spontaneity, my energy, my ability to make people laugh and feel loved. I knew my book was going to change the world I would show the perspective of the 'bad' and the twisted', showing my viewers that everybody thinks differently, that people never think what the do is wrong. I was 70 pages through when i was 20.I am still 70 pages in, at 46. By 20, I had backpacking around New Zealand and the Philippines. I planned to do all of Asia, then Europe, then America To date, I have only been to New Zealand and the Philippines. Now, we get to where it all went wrong. My biggest regrets. I was 20. I was the only child. I needed to be stable. I needed to take that graduate job, which would dictate my whole life. To devote my entire life in a 9-7 job. What was I thinking? How could I live when the job was my life? After coming home, I would eat dinner, prepare my work for the following day, and sleep at 10pm, to wake up at 6am the following day God, I can't remember the last time I've made love to my wife Yesterday, my wife admitted to cheating on me for the last 10 years. 10 years. That seems like a long time, but i can't comprehend it. It doesn't even hurt. She says it's because I've changed. I'm not the person l was. What have I been doing in the last 10 years? Outside of work, I really can't say anything. Not being a proper husband. Not being ME. Who am 1? What happened to me? I didn't even ask for a divorce, or yell at her, or cry. I felt NOTHING. Now I can feel a tear asl write this. But not because my wife has been cheating on me, but because I am now realising I have been dying inside. What happened to that fun-loving, risk taking, energetic person that was me, hungering to change the world? I remember being asked on a date by the most popular girl in the school, but declining her for my now-wife. God, I was really popular with the girls in high school. In university/college too. But i stayed loyal. I didn't explore. I studied every day Remember all that backpacking and book-writingI told you about? That was all in the first few years of college. I worked part-time and splurged all that I had earned. Now, I save every penny. I don't remember a time I spend anything on anything fun. On anything for myself. What do I even want now? My father passed ten years ago. I remember getting calls from mom, telling me he was getting sicker and sicker. I was getting busier and busier, on the verge of a big promotion. I kept putting my visit off, hoping in my mind he would hold on. He died, and I got my promotion. I haven't seen him in 15 years. When he died, I told myself it didn't matter what I didn't see him. I rationalized that being dead, it wouldn't matter anyway. WHAT WAS I THINKING? Rationalizing everything, making excuses to put things off. Excuses Procrastination. It all leads to one thing, nothing. I rationalized that financial security was the most important thingInow know, that it definitely is not. I regret doing nothing with my energy, when I had it. My passions. My youth. I regret letting my job take over my life. I regret being an awful husband, a money- making machine. I regret not finishing my novel, not travelling the world. Not being emotionally there for my son. Being a damn emotionless wallet. If you're reading this, and you have a whole life ahead of you, please. Don't procrastinate. Don't leave your dreams for later. Relish in your energy, your passions. Don't stay on the internet with all your spare time (unless your passion needs it). Please, do something with your life while you're young. DO NOT settle down at 20. DO NOT forget your friends, your family Yourself. Do NOT waste your life. Your ambitions. Like I did mine. Do not be like me srsfunny: A Sad But Common Story

Chicago, College, and Dank: Got denied from harvard s March 2015 2.8 HARVARD COLLEGK Office of Admissions and Financial Aid Molly McGaan 330 W. Webster Ave Chicago, Il 60614 Dear Ms. McGaan: Thank you for your interest in Harvard College. After careful consideration of your application, I am sorry to inform you that we are unable to offer you a place in the class of 2019. This year's application pool was the strongest in the College's history, and we are unable to offer admission to every student, regardless of their proficiency in "dank memes", or their level of "Swagg moneyyyy." Although your GPA and ACT scores were certainly up to our standards, your essays raised some eyebrows at the admissions meetings. For future reference, it is not wise to start an essay with the words, "listen here u little slanks" and end with "McGaan out "drops mic We also didn't need a copy of your mixtape, regardless of how ire" it is (one admissions counselor actually listened to it, and we are pretty sure 40 minutes of you making animal noises is not fire"). In addition, we will be returning your copy of Grownups 2 signed by Chancellor Angela Merkel, because you said it's your "greatest possession" and we don't want it. We also suggest obtaining recommendation letters from teachers or trusted mentors, not "my #4 side ho Derek" or Chief Kee, who submitted a picture of a dinosaur drawn in crayon on a rolling paper. We greatly appreciate your interest in Harvard, and we offer our best wishes of success as you pursue your educational goals
Crazy, Cute, and Food: parisianqueen During the most poor and homeless period of my life, I had a lot of people get angry with me because l spent $25 on Bath and Body Works candles during a sale. They couldn't comprehend why the hell I would do that when I had been fighting for months to try and get us on our feet, afford food, and have an apartment to live in. Those candles were placed beside whereverl slept that night. In the morning, I would move them and set them wherever I'd have to hang out. At one point I carried one around in my purse one of those big honking 3-wick candles. I never lit them, but I'd open them and smell them a lot. I credit that purchase with a lot of my drive that got me to where l am today. I had been working tirelessly, 15+ hour days with barely any reward, constantly on the phone or trying to deal with organizations and associations to "get help at". It'd gone on for almost a year by the end of it, and I was so burnt out, to the point that I would shake 24/7. But I could get a bit of relief from my 3-wick "upper middle class lifestyle" candles. They represented my future goals, my home I wanted to decorate, and how I would one day not be in this mess anymore When we moved into the apartment, and our financial status improved, I burned those candles every single day. When they were empty, I cleaned them out, stuck labels on them, and they became the starting point of my really cute organization system I had ALWAYS planned to have. So whenever I hear about someone very poor getting themselves a treat maybe it's Starbucks, maybe it's a home deco item maybe it's a video game... I don't judge them. I get it. I get that you can't go without anything for that long without it making you go crazy. You need to pull some joy, inspiration, and motivation from somewhere moralistically poor people deserve things they want, too. it is unfair to expect poor people to only buy things they "need". enide-s-dear My grandfather used to tell me: if you only have 20 kr left, you buy grocery for 10 kr and flowers for the other 10 kr because you need a reasorn to live as well. shiobookmark You need hope and nourishment in equal measure im so proud of how well i cropped this

Also, aside from this completely uneducated reasoning as to why minimum wage was created… I can guarantee that there are tens of thousands of teenagers who have to pay bills and help support their families or are the only financial supporter to their family. not to mention, if minimum wage was meant solely for high school students how would the business survive when students are in school?? are they only supposed to be open on the weekend? this “unpopular opinion” makes no sense. Unpopular fact: in the 70s a minimum wage worker could pay for college with a summer job. Unpopular fact: minimum wage was conceived to be the minimum amount of money a person would need to support themselves and their families when working 40 hours per week. Unpopular fact: minimum wage was created because working men and women in this nation fought–figuratively in the negotiating room and literally in the streets–for a fair working wage, with sweat and blood and tears and death. Unpopular fact: military service personnel are not the only people who have fought and died for your rights as American: labor leaders and common workers laid down their lives so that you could have a 40 hour work week instead of 80 hours; so you could have a 2 day weekend instead of none; so you could have lunch and bathroom breaks instead of going hungry and shitting your pants,; so you could have a three day weekend in September. Capitalism would NEVER dole out basic human decency without literal human sacrifice.

It’s a film about ordinary, lovely, kind British people who due to unfortunate circumstances beyond their control have to claim benefits, and struggle through the system. It explores their lives and the benefit system in a realistic, humane way, and sticks to the facts. This happens to thousands of people across the UK regularly, and, as you will see, is completely inhumane. Be prepared with tissues.

Doctor, Drinking, and Google: Sprint LTE 8:17 PM * 31%(10 Home (3) Active now This might seem Hey totally random but I'm curious. What do you know about Pure Therapeutic Ketones and ketosis? Hey! I am diabetic. Ketones is byproduct of your body burning through fat. Once the fat is gone it starts burning your protein. Which is what your muscles and organs are made of. People who do the keto diet have to replace what is lost by the diet. That's why it's so fatty and protein based. People who are on it for too long can have kidney, liver heart, lung, and muscle damage Ketosis is what a lot of diabetic die from I don't diet. I portion control and eat healthy.
