That’s why people get upset, yes all lives matter, but that’s not the topic of discussion. If the black lives matter people were really that worried about black lives, they talk more about how the vast majority of black lives are being taken by other black lives. But that’s true of most races and it doesn’t really matter because senseless death is senseless death. I understand where the black lives matter thing came from and why it started, and I think there’s definitely some merit to it, but when you turn around and try to shut people down for pointing out that hey, other people are dying from senseless violence too and that’s really never OK regardless of your skin color, you are part of the problem, not the solution. Your AIDS argument doesn’t hold any water because we’re not talking about a different disease here. We’re talking about the same disease: senseless murder. And it affects every race, not black people especially.

But that’s the thing though, Black Lives Matter don’t want anymore violence. That’s actually the point of the movement is to end racially charged violence. And we could into black on black crime statistics (you know more black people living below the poverty line in lower income neighborhoods which correlates with lower education and higher gang rates), but then why is there no solution offered from those who prefer to point out those statistics? Where are the All Lives Matter people rallying for education reform? For job reform?

If all lives matter was a real thing, beyond shutting down Black Lives Matter, then why not offer solutions rather than complaining bow black people are more violent.

“Black lives matter is about ending violence” and all lives matter isn’t? Question: what did the black lives matter movement do today to end the violence that led a black man to murder those two white reporters this morning? Oh that’s right, Jack shit. “Ending racially charged violence” is a noble goal, but forgive me if I think we should also be trying to end violence in general. Besides you don’t seem too concerned about ending racially charged violence when it’s black on white, and don’t even try pretending that that doesn’t exist. I’ll be convinced that you’re for ending violence when I see evidence that you’re for ending violence against all races, not just blacks. Wanting to end violence against black people is fine. Ignoring the violence happening to other groups is not fine.

okay, what theyre saying can be criticized, but blacklivesmatter is definitely about ending racially charged violence towards black people, and also ending the lives of black people being taken without legal punishment, or trial.

And that, in and of itself, is fine. The problem is when those things you just listed happen to groups other than blacks (which they definitely, definitely do) the BLM people tend to either ignore it or downplay it. And when other people bring it up, those people get shut down and screamed at for supposedly trying to shut down black lives matter. “HOW DARE YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT OUR COMMUNITY ISN’T THE ONLY ONE WITH PROBLEMS!?!?!!!”

Instead of this irrational misplaced anger, the BLM people should use it as an opportunity to say “hey, we recognize that there is a problem here, as a matter fact it’s been troubling our community for a while now. We should work together to try to limit this problem for everyone.” That would make the movement much more respectable. I like it in theory, but it’s not working out so well in practice.
