Christmas, College, and Dumb: Another thing! If you live in a college dorm that has a polcoy against candles being lit in the rooms, and you want to light a menorah for Chanukah, seek out help advocating yourself from your local Chabad, Hillel, or other assorted Jewish organization. They know how to deal with this stuff and will help you work on a compromise with school officials. You have a right to celebrate Chanukah. neoacidic "my religion is more important than other people's safety!!" sorry but do you hear yourself? celebrate, if you must, but don't infringe upon others or think you're above the law (when the law is no unjust.) thinkherenow: surprisedentistry: femme-radicale: surprisedentistry: realsadjewishhours: keshetchai: 5779: keshetchai: 5779: today on Weird Goyische Meltdowns I have literally had my gentile neighbors start two actual real apartment fires in the last MONTH because they can’t keep an eye on their cooking, meanwhile I light candles ALL THE TIME AT HOME and never set ANYTHING ON FIRE BECAUSE I AM RIGHT FRIGGIN THERE. Do you know what I do with Chanukkah candles on?? I turn off my lights and watch them melt and maybe I do something with my hands but I keep an eye!!! On!!! THEM!!!! #… holy shit guys there’s LED lights for a reason #like if it’s that much of a danger just use LEDs for your decor lighting a menorah reeeeally is not “decor”  It’s NOT that much of a danger. I live in an “adult” neighborhood of apartments (i.e. Not with college students) and again, people have caused two fires this month while making breakfast. One fire burned down most of the building next door to mine. regular old adults using a microwave or stove! But when I light my candles for either Shabbat or Chanukkah I am WATCHING them. I have tin foil nearby, I have water nearby, my religious observances (which aren’t fulfilled by an LED light) are not, in my experience, the greatest fire hazard around. You know what is? People making breakfast people not cleaning LINT out of their dryer. Also LED lights do not fulfill the Jewish obligations that candles/oil do. We literally cannnot use LED lights please stop suggesting this. gentiles on this post have been weirdly convinced that they’re the only ones who know about decorative electronic menorahs and that they just need to educate the ignorant jews  What the fuck? If you want to have your candles go live somewhere those are allowed instead of putting others at risk and making everyone around cater for you. today on Weird Goyische Meltdowns The National Fire Protection Association reports “Between 2012-2016, U.S. fire departments responded to an average 170 home fires that started with Christmas trees per year. These fires caused an average of 4 deaths, 15 injuries, and $12 million in direct property damage annually.” but go off on the Jews for doing their thing. Hey everyone Id like to just speak up for my Jewish friends and followers and say y'all should stop being dumb fucks and respect Judaism and the people who observe it!!! You do not know more about thing relating to their religion than they do! You are not entitled to tell them to stop practicing their religion properly when they explain they have been doing it safely! Any fires caused by someones menorah is not at the fault of Jewish people! It is at the fault of that specific person not watching their candles! Same as if you dont watch a stove! Shut the fuck up or Ill punch you!To all my Jewish friends and followers: I apologise for these ignorant fools - light your candles and have a Happy Chanukah!!!

Lawyer, Memes, and The Game: The Game Faces Arrest Warrant After Skipping Out on Court Date October 3, 2018 at 7:32 am PDT By Ryan Naumann STORY via THE BLAST - “The Game attempted to skip out on a court hearing — citing his appearance on the “Wild N’ Out” — but the judge wasn’t interested in his excuses and issued a warrant for his arrest. According to court documents obtained by The Blast, a judge found The Game in contempt of court for failing to appear for a hearing in his sexual assault case. The rapper had been ordered to show up, but he tried to claim he was too busy. Earlier this week, The Game filed court docs saying he had contractual obligations during October, including the final stretch of “Nick Cannon Presents: Wild ‘N Out Live.” Game claimed to have been trying to get all his financial information to turn over to Priscilla Rainey after he had been ordered to do. He asked the judge to allow his lawyer to represent him during the hearing. The judge wasn’t impressed and instead found the rapper in contempt and issued a bench warrant for his arrest. The warrant was stayed until October 5 at 9:00 AM, meaning the rapper has time to show up in court before he is arrested. Priscilla Rainey was a contestant on The Game’s VH1 reality show “She’s Got Game.” In her 2015 lawsuit, she claimed that during production, the rapper sexually assaulted her by forcefully reaching his hand inside her dress to rub her bare vagina and buttocks. A jury awarded her $7 million in damages. Rainey has accused The Game of refusing to turn over financial docs and at one point demanded he be found in contempt. She claimed he has yet to pay a dime on the judgment. The rapper demanded a new trial saying the judgment was too high but the judge recently shut him down saying the evidence proved Rainey’s case to the jury.” ( via @blast)

Anaconda, Cars, and Doctor: Nazia Hasan Kazi November 14 at 8:59am When did people start thinking "nonviolent protest meant "candlelight vigils" instead of withholding your labor, boycotting, shutting down highways and roads, opening cages, breaking laws that are unjust? Asking for a friend. moncarnetdenote: geekandmisandry: smitethepatriarchy: geekandmisandry: taranoire: uteruskraken: taranoire: Well, shutting down highways and roads is dangerous and puts people at risk of harm. Other than that…. 😑 and how does it do that? How are you at risk because you can’t go down the street you wanted to? Because streets are used for emergency services. Also, EVERYONE uses roads. So, just as you might be inconveniencing white motorists on a Sunday drive you’re also putting the wellbeing of everyone at risk. People have doctor appointments, obligations, kids need to get to school. The only people you’re REALLY hurting when you disrupt vital services are the poor and disabled. I’m poor and disabled, i have no time to be a shield here. Protestors rarely ever cause blockage to emergency vehicles and telling people to protest in a way that doesn’t inconvenience anyone is ridiculous. Staying quietly out of the way is not how change gets accomplished. People protest BECAUSE people are dying but I guess those people don’t fucking matter? I’ve been to multiple protests that have blocked roads. Once, an emergency vehicle needed to get through. You know what happened? The protesters moved out of the way to let the emergency vehicle through and then moved back into place. I know it sounds IMPOSSIBLE but I saw it happen. People just so desperately want to perpetuate myths about protests, they sound like the fox news journalists who will call them “riots”. Protests are often organised and have people with experience as a part of it. They aren’t an angry mob turning over cars because there football team lost. For a whole year, most of the students of my province led a general strike against the government. Of course, this featured demonstrations and protests… Everyday, mostly in the evenings, including a few general and national protest days when we’d be almost half a million marching through the streets of Montreal. And I can say with 100% certainty… We NEVER kept the emergency vehicles from passing through. Fire truck? We’d move out the way and form a safety corridor for them to speed through, then tighten ranks again. Ambulance? We’d move the fuck out of the way as fast as possible. The last thing we ever wanted was to have a death on our conscience. We were protesting unfair laws, not out for blood (unlike what the government liked to imply though -_____-). You know who DID block the way to emergency vehicles though? The riot police. Whenever they injured people when they fired flashbang grenades right in the crowds and the exploded and sent shrapnel into people’s legs or faces, when they fired rubber bullets at face level against safety regulations, when they repeatedly rammed a downed, restrained protester with their batons and boots until teeth and blood covered the floor, they also systemically blocked ANY ambulances and first responders trying to get to the injured, or leave with a person in critical state to get to the hospital. They formed tight ranks and raised their plexiglass shields and stared them down, backed them off, trapped them with the protesters. Hell, they even arrested some of the first responders attending to the injured when they mass arrested the people they trapped with their own militaristic ranks. You’re vilifying the wrong crowd, @taranoire, who I can’t seem to tag.

Another One, Crazy, and Family: Say No And You'll See A Person's Real Character @balleralert Soon as a motherfし、Ker can't borrow $20, they post shit like.. Fuck everybody, that goes for family & friendse Read more: www.balleralert.com Say No And You'll See A Person's Real Character - blogged by @niksofly ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You can say "yes" a thousand times, but the moment you say "no" everything you ever did is out the door. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Many times people are in our lives because of what we do for them. It has nothing to do with a mutual friendship. For example, I've been kindhearted my entire life. I get that from my mother. I literally will go without to give it to someone else. And the crazy part is you don't have to be my friend. You just have to have a need. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My mother would always told me, "that girl isn't your friend. She is just here for the ride.” Naively I believed otherwise. As I got older, my mom would continue to tell me that about family as well. She always said, "Nik, I see a lot of you in me. Don't let anyone take advantage of you.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I slowly began to learn what she meant. When I stopped being so free-hearted with my friends, I stopped having friends. I told a chick "no" and we haven't spoke since 2007. I lost another one in 2009. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I even learned with family, you could give them your last, but if you say "no, this is for me,” you'll be enemy number one. Family members have fought me because I refused to assist. Some have even stopped talking to me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It's entitlement. People feel as though the things you do are obligations. Instead of being appreciative and realizing the good you offered, they are ungrateful. Go broke or say “no,” and you'll see who is really in your corner.
