Church, Lgbt, and Love: Tommy Rae 20-gayce-teen @ellameno Follow Roman Catholic Church: @ Mexico, stop creating weird skeleton saints!! Mexican Catholics: anyway this is Santa Muerte and she loves trans people 8:08 AM 29 Jul 2018 rsbenedict: From Wikipedia: Nuestra Señora de la Santa Muerte (Spanish for Our Lady of Holy Death), often shortened to Santa Muerte, is a female deity or folk saint in Mexican and Mexican-American folk Catholicism. A personification of death, she is associated with healing, protection, and safe delivery to the afterlife by her devotees. Despite condemnation by the Catholic Church, her cult has become increasingly prominent since the 2000s. The worship of Santa Muerte is condemned by the Catholic Church in Mexico as invalid, but it is increasingly firmly entrenched in Mexican culture. Santa Muerte is also seen as a protector of homosexual, bisexual, and transgender communities in Mexico, since many are considered to be outcast from society. Many LGBT people ask her for protection from violence, hatred, disease, and to help them in their search for love. Her intercession is commonly invoked in same-sex marriage ceremonies performed in Mexico. The Iglesia Católica Tradicional México-Estados Unidos, also known as the Church of Santa Muerte, recognizes gay marriage and performs religious wedding ceremonies for homosexual couples. Man how did I not know about this magical gay skeleton queen until today?

Family, Instagram, and Ironic: Selena Quintanilla Will Receive Posthumous Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame @balleralert Selena Quintanilla Will Receive Posthumous Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame-blogged by @thereal__bee ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ENews reports that Mexican-American icon SelenaQuintanilla will be receiving a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Nov. 3. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Suzette Quintanilla, the late singer's sister, announced the news via social media. That same day, Selena will also receive another exciting honor. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ "Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, actress, producer and Texas native EvaLongoria will be there to proclaim November 3rd as the official 'Selena Day' in the city of Los Angeles," wrote Suzette. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Suzette and the rest of the Quintanilla family will be present for the 6:30 PM ceremony. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Last year, Longoria took to Instagram to announce that she too would be receiving a star the same year as her idol. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ In a heartfelt post Longoria wrote, "I could never have dreamed that one day I would receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. But even more ironic is that the same year I receive my star, so does my idol, my inspiration, my fellow Tejana, my fellow Corpus Christi native, Selena Quintanilla. She was the reason I even dared to dream that a better life was possible. And that that life didn't have to distance you from where you came from," she said. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ "So many people become famous and leave a place without ever crediting it with the role it played in shaping their lives. Selena was proud of being from Corpus Christi, Texas. And that made me proud to be from Corpus." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ She continued, "She blazed the way for all of us and I will be forever grateful to her for not only that but for the pure joy I felt when I got to see her perform. Her smile, her charisma, her beauty put every single person who watched her under a spell. Thank you, Selena. I know I will receive my star on the Walk of Fame because you dared to dream it first."
