I saw this before some time ago and it just absolutely fascinated me because there was never any other information provided and the little info that was given was tantalizingly vague. Even with 80% of his brain growing surely he had all kinds of severe issues, right? And even if his brain did grow back he might not have lived very long. So I did a little research on him. Everything happened exactly like it says in the pic- the parents were strongly urged to abort the baby five separate times, and they refused all five times, and he was born with two percent of his brain and he does now have 80% of it. What the blurb doesn’t say is that the little boy’s name is Noah Wall and he’s now a very happy, healthy, six year old boy. Doctors said he would be SEVERELY mentally disabled, unable to see, hear, talk, or even eat. The doctors were wrong. He can do all of these things and more. By age two he was sitting up straight and singing; he can play with legos and computer games, he’s learned how to count, he can hold perfectly normal conversations, and he loves painting. He just recently wrote his name for the first time, and he’s trying very hard to learn how to walk (but that’s still a long way off because he’s mostly paralyzed from the waist down). Most of this probably just seems like boring normalcy, but considering he was born with only 2% of his brain he shouldn’t be able to do ANY of this. The fact that he lived beyond his first birthday is a miracle in and of itself. Noah hasn’t had a brain scan since he was three years old, so no one knows if his brain has grown more since then, but all indications are that he’s developing physically at a normal rate, and he’s developing well enough mentally that his parents recently enrolled him in a local elementary school- not any special education classes, a normal, mainstream school. It’s hard work for the parents, there’s tons of medical appointments, regular surgeries with lengthy recovery times, they had to shuttle Noah to a neurophysics center in Australia to help him learn how to sit upright. Please see these FOR REAL photos she delivered to us....She said the shadows were really bad on the beautiful, clear, sunny day and that her professor never taught her to retouch photos. Yeah, $250 is definitely on the lower end for professional photographs. I have quite a few photographer friends. As a mercenary soul-caputurer myself, yeah, you get what you fucking pay for. Photography has the same costs as any other business. The price you charge has to cover the cost of materials (film if you’re shooting old school, prints, maintenance for your camera whether analog or digital), labor (time spent setting up and shooting), and overhead (gas, food, website hosting costs, etc. if you need it to do some part of the job, it’s in your overhead). Now those are just your operating costs, if you want to actually make money you have to add a percentage for profit (e.g. operating costs + 20%). Let me give you non-photographers a frame of reference here. Paying $250 for a single-day private photo session on location (which means travel costs on top of everything else), is the equivalent of paying $50 for a huge ornate wedding cake you ordered the day before the wedding.This ‘tog is still severely unprofessional and unqualified, though. I consider myself still a beginner but taking good photos in bright sunlight isn’t hard, I do it all the time. Like literally three-quarters of my flickr is all natural light shoots, it’s easier than studio shoots in some ways (light source, directionality, and intensity is constant on a clear day; you don’t have to worry about flash timing; the only thing you need to control for is your camera settings, etc.). I really don’t understand how they screwed this shoot so badly.Other things wrong with this cheap shoot:Out of focusLow contrastLow saturationBad white balanceGrainyThere’s really no excuse for this, it’s all very basic stuff. I took ONE photography class in college and I’ve only been shooting off and on for a couple of years, and I could still do a better shoot than this. Apple, Beard, and Beautiful: 62,681 do all Americans have pet eagles? Yes I remember my first eagle ceremony when I turned nine. The first eagle you get is always declawed, which I always thought was pretty inhumane, but it was a good way to ease into caring for the birds. My eagle (named Baldy, because I wasnt a terribly clever child) was already quite old when I received him (he was a rescue eagle, luckily) but I did have him until I was 16. I don't know if I was more excited about getting my drivers license that year or my new eagle! You should have seen the party we had when I got him, too! Grilled hot dogs and fire works and lemonade... obviously I named my beautiful new eagle Freedom. He's too big to keep inside anymore, unfortunatey but we've got a pretty comfortable roost for him on our apartment's balcony Ah, yes, the eagle ceremony! My Justice and I remember his quite well. (They had just come out with telepathic link transplants when I got him, which is how I know he remembers it.) Our celebration was quite modest, compared to Freedom's-apple pie under a cloudless summer sky as we signed our Declaration of Interdependence. I had to stand in the middle of that wheat field, the wind creating amber waves out of it, shaking that flag in the air for over three hours. Everyone was just about to give up when suddenly Patriot appeared out of nowhere! He came to me so quickly it was like he was apologizing for being late. And we've been together ever since. Some people think it's excessive to have two eagles. But what can I say, I'm a two eagles kind of guy. Well, I can say, "You must be a terrorist to call me out over my excesses," but I digress. We don't have many open fields around here, so I got Liberty by waving my flag atop a decommissioned WWll aircraft carrier. I was kicking a couple of boxes of tea into the harbor for good measure, and there she was. I loved her so much I repeated the process a year later and got young Colbert here. So me and my mom and my dad and my little brother are all standing in the old civil war battleground, surrounded by the ghosts of our fallen soldiers, and all and the problem here- it's not usually a problem because I make sure to shave my beard off twice a day, three times on sundays- was that I am, actually, born on the fourth of July. So it wasn't just one eagle that showed up, it was pretty much every big old patriotic warbird in Missouri, all flapping around confused and pissed off, their innate senses of direction completely fucked up by the way firecracker babies warp America's natural system of ley lines. And I was six, so grabbed the flag and ran with it over my shoulders, rippling in the wind, thinking it was going to turn into wings for me and I would go be an eagle with all the other eagles. Instead I just got mobbed by a freaked-out mess of nationalistic avians who all weighed more than I did. I lost half my nose and my whole left arm and spent most of fourth grade in reconstructive surgery getting machine guns welded on to the shattered remains of my ulna. Completely missed my little brother's eagle ceremony, which I wil always regret, but it was all worth it to have met Columbia. I have waited my whole life for this surgery and I couldn’t wait to see the final results. I was supposed to get my surgery done with Dr. Doreen Ganos, a transgender specialized surgeon at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI, she was amazing at what she does and had great results. Sadly two weeks before my actual surgery she ended up passing away. I got passed onto a surgeon who was taking over her patients. I met with him and he had nothing but great things to say, one of which was “my goal is to have minimal scarring for you, so when you are on the beach no one will question your chest”. Any trans guy would jump for joy at that remark so I felt very confident still going through with surgery with him. However, the outcome turned out not what I expect nor have I ever seen before, as pictured. The surgeon chose to not use drains after the procedure, he stated that it was not necessary. He also didn’t leave me with any sort of binding after the surgery other than this sticky tape over my chest, that I had to remove myself at home. And when I removed the tape at home after a week post op, I had never been so let down in my entire life. I had no words, other than “what the hell”. I’m not sure what procedure he was trying to do, but clearly if I was on the beach, certainly I would get questioned with my chest. Since March I have been on antibiotics three times due to having infections. Along with having to get a revision that didn’t really do much other than make my chest flatter(which is nice) but still very deformed, as also pictured. I also have been through multiple shirts due to leaking fluid…which could’ve been avoided had he put drains in. It has come to the point that the best surgery of my life has turned out to be the worst thing to happen to me. My mental health has declined severely, and I have come to conclusion that I need to get a second opinion, along with a new surgery to fix this outcome. Another surgery, taking off time from work again, and more medical bills will be very expensive and I cannot afford it myself. So I am reaching out to the public and hopefully me finally sharing my story may help a little, rather than me hiding the severity of it.
