Ok! First off, thanks for putting the verses in; that makes my life easier! Second, Song of Songs is undoubtedly sexy, but the phrase “uncircumcised lips” is much sexier. Here’s why:“Uncircumcised lips” is a literal translation of the Hebrew, and scholars have spent millennia trying to figure out what the fuck it means. Because, like, it’s a weird fucking phrase, let’s be real. Actually, let’s all take a moment to imagine what that might physically look like. We deserve it.Anyway, back on topic. Most scholars have ended up interpreting it as saying that Moses has some kind of speech impediment. But that’s really a stretch. I mean, if that’s what was meant, why not say, “a man of broken speech” or something like that? No, I think the meaning of that phrase is a lot simpler.Circumcision is the sign of the Jewish covenant with G-d. In this period of the Bible, after G-d and Abraham made the covenant but before the Law was given at Mt. Sinai, circumcision was the single, defining thing that set the Jewish people apart from everyone else. So what does it mean to have uncircumcised lips? I submit that to speak with uncircumcised lips is to speak with a non-Jewish voice.But Moses is Jewish! Why would his voice not be? Because, Moses is unique among the Jewish people. He wasn’t raised as a slave. That’s what the Jewish people are in this period and have been for hundreds of years. They’re slaves. For generations, that slavery has defined and warped their culture. Moses has never been a slave and has never lived among his people who are. He may be Jewish, but his understanding of his people, and therefore his ability to speak for them, is non-existent.So G-d tells Moses to speak to Pharoah on behalf of the Jewish people and Moses says no. How will he speak for his people, advocate for them, demand their freedom, when he can’t speak with their voice? He can’t do it and he tells G-d no. No, I won’t speak for the slaves when I am free. Steve loves his country. He loves it enough to be at the front of the line trying to fix what he sees as moral wrong in it.

he is not loyal to any momentary leader or agenda, and when those leaders and agendas stand contrary to his core ideal of self-determination and freedom from oppression, he’ll speak up without hesitation.
honestly, i never would’ve thought captain america would be my favorite superhero, but he’s the activist i aspire to be.

Captain America is loyal to nothing but the dream.

The problem with Captain America’s image in the public mind is that people recite the first line of his byword and ignore the last part :
“My country, right or wrong;if right, to be kept right; and if wrong, to be set right.”

speech in Spiderman #537. 



My favorite line from the issue:

I created this powerful meme in 2011 when our first page was taken down. I understand censorship and the war to defend our freedom of speech more so than anyone. As a communism survivor I have lived through 13 years of oppression and remember the wisdom of my late father who said “A man who can’t express his views weather he’s wrong or right is a slave” , @unclesamsmisguidedchildren was the largest right wing social media page in Facebook at the time with 614,000 followers. We were bigger than @wearebreitbart , and many others including infowars but we supported them and @foxnews message, share their articles etc. When our large social media page was taken down, no one gave a single damn. Why? Because they saw us a competition or as a thorn. I know we aren’t a news site by any stretch of our imagination but we feature the most important topics affecting our country at the time, we made memes such as this one and many others that went viral. We were the original deplorables of our time. Now, the gods of the universe are attacking Alex Jones because Alex Jones while I don’t agree with everything he says and I am not one of his followers, him and Infowars along with @unclesamsmisguidedchildren and many other pages were 110% supporters of Donald Trump. Alex Jones and his team were behind making sure we deplorables as the left call us had support in social media by sharing the information that needed to be shared. They are afraid of Alex Jones, they are afraid of all those who are saying things that go against their socialistic propaganda and we must all unite or one day we will all be answering our doors to some gestapo arresting us for saying what others don’t have the balls to say. Example of what’s to come is what’s happening in the UK & what’s happening to Tommy Robinson. Tell me who you aren’t allowed to criticize and I tell you who controls you. Just so you know, the first time we were taken down was due to the mere fact that we posted the connection between Hitler and the Moslem brotherhood.
