So sleepy honkshoo.” This is a really good example of appeasement behavior in cats.  The kitten wants to play, but stops because the older cat has their ears back.  Kitten backs down to show a loss of interest— at that point, you can see the older cat blink slowly.  This is one of the ways cats demonstrate trust and understanding.   The kitten turns away, to further cement a lack of interest in playtime at the moment.  The kitten lies down slowly, occasionally looking to the older cat for more approval.  Finally, the little yawn at the end isn’t to go ‘i’m sleepy’, but rather as a calming signal.  Cats consider sleeping to be a communal activity.  By settling down and imitating the older cat, the younger cat is displaying ‘yes, I understand Now Is Not Playtime, we’re cool, right?’ : followthebluebell: roane72: mapelie: everythingfox: Mission failed Ummm. These are not the actual numbers because; a) many people (especially those in late 20s to mid 30s) are a-symptomatic which means you can be infected with the virus and NOT KNOW IT because YOU DONT GET SICK but you can still spread it to others! b) many people will have mild symptoms and just treat themselves at home (which is absolutely what you SHOULD be doing. you only need to go to the ER if you are having serious issues) and so are not being tested. Though, a lot of these people are just assuming they have a cold or allergies and still going out. THATS why they’re shutting things down. Its to keep people from congregating in closed spaces where the virus can move from person to person easily. So wash your hands, stay home, and just cool your heels for now. Dang, why’s Louisiana taking it so hard? NY is taking it harder than everyone else though Yea but were tiny down here. New Orleans is a major international port and tourism mecha, though. Small population but high tourism so a lot of activity and movement to pass it around. And here’s a chart comparing the death rates to the seasonal flu so if y’all could shut the absolute fuck up about them basically being the same thing that would be great. Remember we have reliable vaccine and treatment for the seasonal flu. This is a novel coronavirus. Novel in this instance means new. We are not nearly as equipped to deal with it as we are with the flu and it’s proving to be far more deadly already.: goat-yells-at-everything: nickyvmlp: segasister: nickyvmlp: goat-yells-at-everything: cannibalgurlcreations-blog: This is for those of you saying “We only have so many cases, why are we shutting stuff down?” It’s so it doesn’t do anymore growing so you stay at “we only have so many cases”. The other thing is that cats have a very good sense of time and tend to like regular schedules. If OP’s family members pray every day at the same times, in the same place, the cat knows the drill and probably considers this an official Household Activity which requires Feline Supervision. Consent, a concept every single person should know. Drew this piece to explain consent, collaboration with Aids Concern Organisation Hong Kong. Wish you a safe and merry Christmas :) by lovaduck MORE MEMES: Wanna come over to watch Netflix? Is it really just Netflix? She dressed so sexy & flirty today, she must want to have sex with me! Consent A concept everyone needs to know Sexual consent is Yes! Ok! Um..ok? Clear expression on giving consent Not ready In a nutshell, when you and your partner both agree to have sex. It's important to have mutual understanding before things get too hot and heavy. Only yes means yes When someone stays silent, assume it's a no. Do not force it on them. They might freeze upon stress rather than flight or fight. Silence or lack of resistance does NOT mean consent. Consent applies to everyone. I don't want sex. No one owes you sex, not even sex workers or your partner! Respect other people's will. Consent is about communication I changed my mind. It's ok. Ask for consent, every single time. Also, you can withdraw consent at any point if you feel uncomfortable. Consent is Freely Given W Not being pressured or intimidated into sexual activity. Reversible It's ok to withdraw. Informed You understand what's going to happen. Enthusiastic You're excited and you WANT to do this. S pecific Saying yes one thing doesn't mean saying yes to other things! These aren't consent Being drunk 'Maybe Stripping 2 Hint hint Assuming they want it Kissing Silence or lack of response A Erection These are consent V Absolutely That feels good I like this V 'm open to trying V I'm ready Clear verbal cues V Don't stop / Clear physical cues If you don't have consent, it's a crime. We wish you a merry Christmas! Stay safe! Best wishes, @ Melibu7.edu.au and @taapna_ac Consent, a concept every single person should know. dressesandyarn: magicalhomesandstuff: What’s encrypting your internet surfing? An algorithm created by a supercomputer? Well, if the site you’re visiting is encrypted by the cyber security firm Cloudflare, your activity may be protected by a wall of lava lamps. Cloudflare covers websites for Uber, OKCupid, & FitBit, for instance. The wall of  lamps in the San Francisco headquarters generates a random code. Over 100  lamps, in a variety of colors, and their patterns deter hackers from accessing data.   As the lava lamps bubble and swirl, a video camera on the ceiling monitors their unpredictable changes and connects the footage to a computer, which converts the randomness into a virtually unhackable code. Codes created by machines have relatively predictable patterns, so it’s possible for hackers to guess their algorithms, posing a security risk. Lava lamps, add to the equation the sheer randomness of the physical world, making it nearly impossible for hackers to break through. You might think that this would be kept secret, but it’s not. Simply go in and ask to see the lava lamp display. By allowing people to affect the video footage, human movement, static, and changes in lighting from the windows work together to make the random code even harder to predict. So, by standing in front of the display, you add an additional variable to the code, making it even harder to hack. ileolai: Those articals also don’t take into account the context of [some, not all] European diets. In places where food is treated as a sacred social activity and you get an hour or more to eat lunch, it’s easier to make healthier choices. And you go out to eat and chill and bond with your friends and family, or laze around a park, even during work lunch breaks. In the places where people are healthiest, scarfing down something from the microwave in the back room while your boss breathes down your neck on your 15 minute non-break would be outrageous. Having no time or energy to prepare dinner or relax because you’re so overworked is significantly rarer.  A glass of red wine is good for you, but probably not as important as the fact you get hours to appreciate it in the company of other people.
