Doge, Tumblr, and Blog: occupy Democrats Jan 2 at 7:50am CCUPY DEMOCRATS This cannot be stressed enough. Image by Occupy Democrats. Openly defying and brazenly disrespecting your president, while hoping that he fails, is not called patriotism... er It is called TREASON Democrats 1,008 likes 697 comments
confessionsofacollegerepublican:

freexcitizen:

doge-company:

brassxdaddy:

Fuckin hell they’re serious.

Pretty sure the loyalty goes to the people, not the leader. Unless we’re gonna start calling him the Great Leader.

Gross

A small pet peeve of mine is when people misuse the term ‘treason’ for political purposes.

Article III, Section 3 of the Constitution actually defines treason for us quite plainly: “Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.”

The founders did not want to allow the definition to easily change to fit an agenda, as was often the case in monarchist Europe where disagreeing with the king was sometimes met with death. In a country where free speech reigns, treason is a term that should not be thrown around lightly.

So actually, no. It is not treason to disagree with the president and call him out when his policies are disruptive to the continued prosperity and freedom of United States’ citizens. It doesn’t matter who the president is– we have a right to voice our opinion and make ourselves heard.

“Small” pet peeve.
