Community, Memes, and American: First Black Oscar Award Winner, Hattie McDaniel Gets A Biopic @balleralert First Black Oscar Award Winner Hattie McDaniel Gets A Biopic – blogged By @lanaladonna ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ According to reports, a biopic for African American and Hollywood pioneer, HattieMcDaniel is now in the works. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For those of us who’ve slept on black history- McDaniel was the first African American (man or woman) to receive an Oscar. Her role as “Mammy” in the film “Gone With The Wind” earned her the Oscar for “Best Supporting Actress” in 1940. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Despite the film’s success and eight Oscar Awards, McDaniel, along with the rest of her black castmates weren’t allowed at the premiere of the film in Georgia. The color of her skin also caused for McDaniel to not be allowed to sit with the rest of the nominated cast at the Oscar Awards, but allowed her a seat in the back of the venue. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ According to Variety, producers of the film, AaronMagnani and AlysiaAllen got their hands on the rights to Jill Watts’ published biography, “Hattie McDaniel: Black Ambition, White Hollywood” to help them with the film. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Though people in the black community criticized her for playing roles that they felt fed into racial stereotypes for African Americans, McDaniel served as a pioneer and example for aspiring African American actors and actresses for generations to come. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Considering the fact that the first black man to receive a golden globe for best actor in a TV series happened just a week ago, this biopic is a big deal, and long overdue. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Continue to rest in peace Ms. McDaniel and congratulations.

Bad, Benjamin Franklin, and Fall: BE HAPPY WITH WHAT YOU HAVE, WHILE YOU PURSUE WHAT YOU WANT. @MILLIONAIRE MENTOR - “There are two ways to increase your wealth. Increase your means or decrease your wants. The best is to do both at the same time.” What a quote by my boy Benjamin Franklin 🔥 Misery shouldn’t be the price for ambition. Somewhere I believe many people got the idea that to want more, you have to be dissatisfied with what you have now. Believing this, your choice is either to dampen your passions or become miserable with what you have. Here are some tips I’ve found useful in becoming happier with your current situation: ✔️Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Investors understand that diversification keeps one bad fall from ruining you financially. Keeping your interests diversified, ensures that one slip won’t make you miserable. Tying your entire life into only one area isn’t just obsessive, it’s dangerous. ✔️Engineer your day. Spend a bit of time reorganizing how you run your daily life. The goal isn’t to have the most productive day possible or one that is devoid of all “bad” habits. Your objective is simply to experiment with changes that might make your day more interesting, fun or fulfilling. ✔️Break comparisons. Breaking comparisons with other people will make you happier, but it isn’t easy to do. There isn’t an OFF switch in your brain for competition. Start by: -Diversify your social life. -Shut off the media. -Find your talents. -Focus internally. ✔️Don’t make yourself miserable. It took awhile for me to realize that happily working towards a goal gave the same results as stressed frustration. The stereotype that the high-achiever needs to be an obsessive maniac is a good one to make you feel miserable. It is easy to look at outside problems as the source of your misery. But too often you bring it upon yourself. Ambition is important, but don’t see it as a trade-off for appreciating what you have. When you trade today for tomorrow, you might realize you have nothing left. 😉 - behappy success grind enjoy millionairementor

Community, Family, and Friends: REAL MEN HAVE GOALS AND AMBITIONS. How to set goals when you have no idea what you want? You’ve heard about the importance of goal setting, we all have. The problem is, you don’t have any ambitious goals. You don’t have any goals at all! You’re not really sure what you want from life… maybe something a bit more than what you’ve currently got, but every time you try to write a list of goals, it seems like the list will stay empty forever. Here are some ways to identify goals you really want: BUT FIRST: Relax! A “goal” is simply something which you’d like to do or achieve. It could be buying a house or a car, yes, but it could also be something which might matter to no one in the world except you! perhaps your goal is to learn to bake cakes as good as the ones your grandma used to make or how to earn money with your passion to later help others in need. ✔️Start with what you enjoy. We all have natural interests and passions, things that we get really excited about (even though our friends and family might be against it.) ✔️Write down a list of five or ten things that you really enjoy. IF that doesn’t work let’s do another thing: there are six areas where you should consider setting goals, and lists these categories as: -Financial -Job-career -Physical health -Relationships -Personal development -Community If you’re still stuck in your goal-setting, go through these seven key areas and find one goal! - goals ambition success millionairementor
