Anaconda, Energy, and Food: t1 Gravitas Free Zone Retweeted db pooper @lonelydandruff 2h I just realised americans think their medicine costs as much as they're charged for it Your Trusted Wizard @Choplogik iguess if i was an american & saw all the wildly exorbitant medical bills people get i would wonder how universal healthcare'd get paid for 07 216 357 bogleech: the-library-alcove: flyingfishtailoutpost1: thebibliosphere: lizardtitties: withasmoothroundstone: robstmartin: titleknown: Blogging this tweet because this explains SO MUCH about the mindset of pretty much all the folks I’ve known who’re against single-payer, it’s not even funny… This…. This never occurred to me. Not once. That Americans are against Health Care because they think it actually costs tens of thousands of dollars for a broken arm, hundreds of thousands for a complicated birth, millions for cancer treatment. Because they’ve never known anything different. The idea that a broken arm is only a couple hundred bucks; a complicated birth a couple thousand; cancer treatment only tens of thousands; all easily covered by existing tax structures. This explains a lot.  And it’s a good example of what I was talking about in my post on scarcity being used to prop up ableism – always question the idea that a resource is genuinely scarce.  Even if it seems obvious that it is, quite often that’s the result of careful manipulation and misconceptions that you’re not even aware of.   And never think you’re too smart to be fooled by that kind of thing, it doesn’t work like that.  Similarly, don’t think people who are fooled by something are stupid.  Nobody can have all the information about everything, and nobody has the time and energy to investigate and put together conscious conclusions about every piece of information they’re given.  It doesn’t take being stupid, or even just gullible, to believe something like this. I currently live in a country without free medical care and still, it’s enormously cheap compared to the USA. An American expat wrote a piece for our English language paper about how she paid more for parking at the hospital than giving birth to her baby that’s pretty interesting: https://grapevine.is/mag/articles/2016/01/06/healthcare-in-iceland-vs-the-us-weve-got-it-so-good/ Yesterday I had to go to the hospital cause I injured my eye, I’m frankly dreading what the bill is going to be, but what made me balk was being told in the pharmacy that my insurance was denied for the antibiotic eye drops and it’d be over $100 out of pocket. So I didn’t get my eyedrops. I’ve had these same drops before living in the UK. They cost me seven GBP. It’s the exact same drug, same steroid, same strain of antibiotic. But somehow the US gets away with charging $100 for a generic non brand version of a drug which is easy to create and widely used. It’s downright robbery, but also a form of eugenics through poverty and class warfare. You keep the poor poor by making sure basic necessities remain unattainable and then you make it seem like the norm so no one fights it. The rest of the world is not like this. Eat the rich. Resist. It’s downright robbery, but also a form of eugenics through poverty and class warfare. THIS. THISTHISTHIS. THIS IS WHAT I KEEP TRYING TO TELL PEOPLE. My blood pressure medication (Candesartan) costs between $40-$125 USD for 30 tablets in the US.Here in Germany, 98 tablets costs me 5 Euro. The worst part is, the people pocketing the most of this money are powerful enough to keep it this way, and in the event that legislation of some kind actually brought prices down, they could cry to the government that their profits were taken from them and lobby to “make up” their losses in some way that you can guarantee will still hurt the lower classes. Most likely, they would end up getting billions in corporate welfare, and when it came time to make any budget cuts, they’d be able to use the same influence to keep their handouts while welfare and food stamps for poorer, hungrier people end up on the chopping block first.

Another One, Beautiful, and Dude: Johan Klingestedt. @Cwooshow . 24m One door closes, another one opens Read: tl.gd/n 1sqnjgc My days as a pro player is over, I will retire from pro play and focus on something that l've been interested in since day 1 my Overwatch career, coaching. Being a pro player has been so good to me and looking back at it all l'm very proud of what I've managed to do. A small kid from a small town in Sweden no one has heard of, traveling the world to play in front of fans that love the game as much as I do. Being home in Sweden for to 2 months now has given me a lot of time to think this through. Giving up playing is rough but this is the 2nd best thing to me. I've worked as a teacher which I loved, and there are plenty of parallels between coaching and teaching. Being a former pro player gives me a lot of insight that other coaches may not have. Helping other aspiring players to play to the best of their ability and having answers to questions they may have. l'd like to give a huge thanks to all the beautiful people that have supported me during my pro play and continue to do so. All the fans. organizations, staff and most importantly, my former teammates. If you'd like to reach out to me and ask any questions, ask about my coaching philosophy or anything else: Twitter DM's e-mail: johanklingestedt@gmail.com delfyi: Cwoosh of Florida Mayham retiring from pro play and looking to become a coach Hope he finds something- always a cool dude.

How do they stack up to industry standard Wacoms? After spending a week with the 6.25“x10” Monoprice, my Yiynova and Cintiq remain unplugged and I gave my Intuos away to a friend. The Monoprice tracks subtle pressure variances and small movements with less lag and more crisp fidelity than any of the others. It is, put crudely, fucking awesome, in both OSX Lion and Windows 7 x64. I have one of these, 10x6.5 I bought about two months ago for 48 bucks. It’s a billion times better than my old Wacom Bamboo and works like a fuckin dream. ATTENTION ALL PENNY-PINCHING ART FRIENDS!!! ooo reblogging this for potential future purchase oh I’m definitely thinking of getting one of these, or asking for one for Christmas. ‘Cause as much as I appreciate Ian giving me his old tablet, I think the pen might be on it’s last legs. ;~; Oh my god these start at $25 for a little one. I would be so okay with a little one. Reblogging this again because I fucking lost it and don’t want to forget it again. Relevant to some friends’ interests… vaultedthewall , trows … i got mine for $75 including shipping to australia and i’ve been using it since 2012 and it still works well today, definitely recommend reblogging so i can find this if i ever think of buying a new one @sapphic-sith @dream-with-me-always @albino-yaoi psst @crouleek @perelka-l @foolsfantasies drawing friends 3
Apparently, News, and Tumblr: Overwatch League Key Dates Aug. 1, 2018: Signing window opens for teams to negotiate extensions with current players or to sign players from their affiliated Contenders team. Teams may also begin making player trades Sept. 9, 2018: Inaugural-season agreements officially end. Any players not under contract become free agents. Sept. 9-0ct. 7, 2018: Exclusive window for Overwatch League expansion teams to sign free agents. Oct. 8, 2018: Free-agent signing window opens for all teams. All teams must have a minimum of eight players under contract by Dec. 1,2018. Teams may sign or trade players until a final deadline during the 2019 season that will be announced at a later date. Players who turn 18 prior to the season deadline are eligible to sign Overwatch League contracts for the 2019 season. While the date has yet to be finalized, players born before May 1, 2001, will be eligible. Beginning with the 2019 season, the term of player agreements will no longer be fixed at one year with an additional one-year option. Players and teams may negotiate contracts for up to three years, with a maximum of one year as an option in addition to one or two guaranteed years All contracts must be submitted to the League Office for review and approval. Two-Way Players For the 2019 Overwatch League season, teams and players may negotiate the right to designate the player as eligible to compete in Contenders on an affiliated team. Any player on the roster may agree to be eligible for Contenders play, but a maximum of four players may be designated as "two-way" players during each Overwatch League stage, and those players must be identified and submitted to the League Office prior to each stage. Two way players are eligible to compete in Contenders, subject o the ollowing ules Regardless of where they play, two-way players count toward the Overwatch League roster limit of 12 and must earn the same salary and benefits. Two-way players also will count towards the eight-player Contenders roster limit for weeks in which their Contenders team designates them as eligible to compete. Two-way players lose their Contenders eligibility if they appear in more than two Overwatch League matches in a stage. A maximum of two designated two-way players may compete in any single Contenders match. No player will be eligible to appear in both Contenders and Overwatch League matches in the same week. snill0: Interesting article just came out about the player rosters for OWL 2019 Important thing to note is that they’re pushing the minimum rosters to 8 players, obviously expansion teams should be coming into the season with more than that based off how this inaugural season went (players facing burnout, mayhem’s 6 roster performance, etc). Also, players are able to negotiate contract lengths, this is super important to giving players more power since we don’t have a union yet and after finding out about the Mayhem players’ contracts+salary vs contenders players (long story short they’re rumored to be payed less than their contenders roster who are apparently the inactive spitfire players because they’re locked for potentially 2 yrs) it shows there’s some poor management going on. Free agency could be spicy too depending on how many people get cut after their inaugural season performance. As much as I hate to admit it there’s obviously some players that have fallen off, but some still have the potential and under a new team with capable players I think we can see some make a comeback. As many have said, these players are OWL caliber in terms of mechanics but it’s about the teamplay and whether their style works well. 2 Way players is another thing I’m eye’ing because letting people who are OWL level play in contenders (or vice versa) could throw some big curveballs in terms of strategies. I’m also wondering if it’s going to be used often, maybe as a way to get those benched players still playing competitive matches once in awhile.
