Fucking, Life, and School: DONNY CATES. @Doncates , Dec 11 I promise you dont really want to read a book where Eddie is doing fine and everything is awesome and everyone is happy. That book is boring and you will not like that book Or maybe you would. I dunno. I'm not writing that book symbisexual-disaster:*glances wearily at my 5,000 bookmarked fics in which everything is awesome and everyone is happy*  Honestly this just shows what a shallow understanding of story writing he has and I don’t know how he got to become a writer as a result of this.Conflict makes a story interesting but it’s pretty clear that a) he only has 1 idea of conflict (tragedy) and b) he sees no room for character growth (because anything other than tragedy is considered boring and irrelevant and therefore we never see characters put into different situations and he doesn’t have to write them react to anything other than tragedy).Showing Eddie and Venom doing well doesn’t even have to be the whole series (honestly I’d find that pretty boring too after several issues as much as I want to see Eddie and Venom grocery shopping or going to the farmer’s market). The point of doing so is a) character development and b) a break in the storyline from any current conflict. As much as peace/ trivial aspects of Eddie’s life will get boring after several issues, so will conflict. I’m really tired of seeing overblown issues left right and centre and absolutely no pause given to Eddie’s development (not to mention he’s regressing because of shitty writing). That one scene where Eddie’s speaking to V but seemingly himself when he’s eating noodles and V’s asking for a bloody steak? That’s the kind of shit I’m talking about. It’s literally 2 pages of Eddie speaking to himself, being very kind to V, then snapping back at a stranger who’s weirded out by him and he and V then proceed to have a conversation about innocence and stupidity. Not only does this show Eddie’s a dick in day-to-day life which contrasts with his ideas of being a good person and saving the innocent, it also shows V’s basic (but forming) ideas about human characteristics and personalities and Eddie has to do his best to help V understand innocent =/= stupid. That’s all it fucking took! 2 pages of a regular conversation between Eddie and V! Then you can get back to whatever conflict is happening!Donny Cates never graduated from the school of ‘I like these characters and I’m going to make them suffer’ and it shows.

Anime, God, and Head: English tests in 30 years, "QUESTION 5: What is the meaning of this meme?" wuackamole: icoree: unexpectedones: drowningxlessons: I literally heard the sentence in my head and it’s proof positive that this has evolved into its own language This meme primarily refers to the movie Toy Story, in which the toy cowboy, Woody, has a soundbox that sometimes says, “There’s a snake in my boot,” when the string on his back is pulled. The meme is from an anime and with no edits, the image shows a boy gesturing to a butterfly with a caption reading, “Is this a pigeon?”. It is commonly overlaid with other words or images in order to denote a change in who is speaking, what the speaker thinks the object they are gesturing at may be, and what the object actually is. This particular version of the meme, however, the image at the bottom, where the caption would normally be located, is another meme commonly known by the contemporary meme-makers and -viewers as the “free real estate” meme, due to the phrase the man uses in the advertisement from which the meme originates: “It’s free real estate.” Putting all these broken-down aspects of the meme together, we can translate the meme into written words. The snake gestures to the cowboy boots and thinks, “Is this free real estate?” noting its cluelessness in regards to the fact that it likely should not slither into Woody the cowboy’s boot. you’re a god I couldn’t put this into words but I understand perfectly

Bitch, Children, and Chuck Norris: "R-r-r-r-r-roger Taylor!" Freddie Mercury on Roger Taylor "Drummer, dentist, and tailor. Roger Taylor does it all" ~ Oscar Wilde on Roger Taylor "I have more hair than him. Brian May on Roger Taylor "The hottest man ever!" Every woman on earth Roger Meddows Taylor (born 26 July 1949), known as Roger Taylor, is the hottest guy ever. He is hotter than you. He is hotter than your son. He is hotter than the sun. When he was born the whole hospital went up in flames as his hotness was just starting to begin. In his teens, the good-old fashioned lover boy developed a routine that flabbergasted even priapic heroes such as Bob Pant and Lemmie of Motorhead: he introduced himself as Roger Taylor to one groupie and as Roger Meddows to the next before his re-entrance as Roger Meddows-Taylor, the double- barrelled playboy to the hapless third. His mother was a contortionist in the Barnum & Bailey Circus and his father was out of work due to his incontrollable addiction to potatoes. Roger became a man very quickly. He was hot and enjoyed inflicting temporary amnesia on his schoolmates by pummeling them in their heads with rugby balls. He would then jog back into the locker room, put on a mesh muscle shirt and cut school to pump iron. Roger Taylor as a young woman For those without comedic tastes, the so-called experts at Wikipedia have an article about Roger Meddows Taylor. Roger Taylor is cooler than you. Over 11,000 people have reported deafness caused by hearing Roger Taylor's falsetto. . He played most of his shows asleep. Much to Freddie's amusement, he tried to dye his hair before a show, only to turn it a striking shade of green...or was it purple? . Roger Taylor is friends with Eric Cartman . Roger would probably go shag somebody, mainly himself! Even though he's a drummer, he likes music, and can even sing! Roger Taylor can defeat Chuck Norris. His cell phone carrier is Sprint, which is why Sprint occasionally has poor service; his voice destroys reception. Roger Taylor stole the cookies from the cookie jar. Roger Taylor has his own line of alarm clocks and burglar alarms in Italy. Consequently, more people report to work on time and the crime rate has gone down. There is also an increase in deaf businessmen and robbers with ringing in the ears. Roger Taylor lost the Game. Roger has five children (that he knows of) that are all in fact clones of various aspects of him e.g his eldest son sounds exactly like him, his second son looks exactly like him and is a drummer. There is a small lake in Wichita named after Roger Taylor. Roger's vagina is also known as Australia because of it's largeness in size. Roger Taylor and Meg Ryan were separated at birth. Roger was known for cooking up a piece of bacon so scrumptious and big, Freddie kept it for himself and christened it his bitch Roger's penis is the size of Rhode Island due to its tiny stature. moveimbi:why is this the most accurate description of Roger Meddows Taylor ever

Asian, Climbing, and College: ingu: marrymejasonsegel: I wrote a college paper once about gender dynamics in Disney films, and part dealt with the emphasis of androgyny in this film. Mulan is an outsider and unsure of her position of the world when she is adhering to both a total feminine role (the matchmaking scene) and a total masculine role (disguised as a male soldier) and it’s only when she’s able to embrace both sides that she is able to fully showcase her abilities and ultimately save the day.  The entire climax, from climbing the poles using sashes, counting on Shan Yu’s complete dismissal of women to get the Emperor to safety, to this scene where she literally uses a symbol of womanhood (within the movie at least) to disarm the villain of his symbol of masculinity and beat him at his own game, shows Mulan relying on the aspects of her femininity that she has grown up adhering to and adapting the tactical knowledge and fighting skills that she learned disguised as a male soldier to those aspects. The result is a unique and innovative view of the world and her course of action that leads her to save the day when the male soldiers failed and the women wouldn’t even have been allowed to try.  This commentary is so curious to me because it’s such an excellent example of white/western cultural bias in portrayals of other cultures. Because fans by themselves are a gender neutral object in Ancient China, especially the large type that Mulan uses in this particular scene is actually masculine if you must code it historically, and in Chinese hands would be used as a tool to support her masculinity and not the other way around. These paper fans are used in general by (male) scholars and artists who decorate its surface with art and calligraphy. It is a symbol of (masculine) intellectual power and the intellectual elite. And if you look to Asian martial arts films, they are a common and almost exclusive weapon of men. Yet the movie takes this deeply cultural object and either willingly or ignorantly makes it an object of womanhood or femininity. To the extent of my knowledge, this is mostly reflective of western social history. And draws from the coquettish ways Georgian? Ladies would use the fan to signal their romantic interest and all the history and influence around it. The equivalent object for the Chinese lady would in fact be the handkerchief, or a hairstick if you want something pointy. And it’s all the more curious because at the end of the day it’s a western depiction of a foreign story made for western consumption. It is not a story made by and for Chinese little girls, but to empower and inspire those in the West. Which provides the context for the above (excellent) analysis. It does not need to fully take Chinese history into context because it was never made for us, despite being explicitly about us.

America, Animals, and Books: rgfellows: So, in my art history class today, my professor was talking about something that is so fuckin awesome. These are warrior shields from the Wahgi people of Papua New Guinea. The warriors paint them with imagery meant to symbolize animals who have traits they wish to embody in battle. These depictions are intended to give the person using it the powers of what theyre depicting. Now. Look at this Wahgi shield: Hmm. That looks a bit different from the others That looks VERY different. Why, it looks like The Phantom.. American comic book character by Lee Falk. And that's because it is. The Wahgi people were isolated from the rest of the "modern" world until I933. They came into contact with WWll service men who shared some aspects of western culture with the tribesmen. In particular, they showed them the comic books they read while shipped out. The Wahgi loved them. In particular, the Wahgi adored the stories of the Phantom, who wasn't even particularly popular in its home of America. He is so popular that the few Wahgi who can read english will read the comics out loud in the village center and hold out the pages for everyone to see, so the whole tripe can enjoy them and marvel at the Phantoms might in battle. They identify with the Phantom because he came from a jungle territory, like them, wore a mask to fight, like them, and came from a long line of warriors, which the Wahgi, who worshiped their ancestors, deeply respected. Further, despite not really having superpowers, the Phantom is strong, clever, and incredibly fast. He was so fast that his enemies began to believe that he was impervious to bullets and could not be killed. Therefore, the Wahgi began painting HIM on their shields to invoke HIS abilities in battle. There are TONS of Phantom-Wahgi shiclds out So, you might think that you're huge comic book fan, but the Wahgi have taken their Phantom fandom to the next level and have made the Phantom a fucking talisman to carry into battle fo【 strength. This is officially the best confluence of comics and real life in history

Confidence, Dogs, and Fedora: Letter 1 2/9/2018 Subject: Letter 1 Date: Mon, Jan 29, 2018 10:00 am To whom it may concern: My name is Alex. Although I may not be your bartender tonight (I sure do hope been Jason's bartender for the last decade. As a ba You get the opportunity to meet all different kinds someday I'm able to be!), I have of walks of life and learn how to read people very well. Some in and out of your life, while others you choose to keep around. When you come across someone as rtender you get to know some people on a very deep level votten to know Jason really well; everything from his taste in music, work ethic, and his le. Jason's taste in music could be summed up pretty easy (and this goes along with his personality, as they styl should reflect each other), he's got an old soul. He enjoys a classical style of music that helps to promotes thinking, relaxation, and self-growth. He's always been able to keep the bar in a good vibe as he picks the music on the jukebox. He has always kept a job for an extended period of time. He's well versed in bartending (customer service in general), welding, and he is currently an electrician. Jason is known to sport a fedora when it matches well with his jacket. He's always been able to rock those black frame glasses and stand out as a particular handsome fella in a crowd. One area that Jason has continuously impressed me is the way he has treated his past girlfriends and how deep and intimate their relationships were. He has always been a stand up gentleman and communicated with them very well about anything from their relationship to how he feels about something happening in his life. He isn't the kind of guy who's going to pay for everything for you. He enjoys a woman that is self-dependent and knows what she likes and wants out of life. But he is also willing to grow with you as you grow without jealousy regarding it. Jason has always had a confidence and carried himself in that manner. Jason, over the years, has spent his free time volunteering with the developmentally disabled. I feel this is an important point to make because it transitions into so many different aspects of his life. He's patient, trustworthy logical and funny. He has also had a few dogs over the years that were great dogs. His most recent dog (Sylvie) is just the sweetest animal and very fortunate to have Jason as her owner (especially with his tenderheartedness) considering her previous owner (ask Jason, it's his story to tell) I feel that this letter can really be summed up in a few sentences'. Jason is one of the best people I've had the pleasure of calling my friend. He's stands up for what he believes in, makes good choices and treats people well overall. Any woman who chooses to be in his life and he chooses to share his life with are extremely lucky in my opinion Kuddos to you for receiving this letter, as you must be a very spectacular gall Cheers, Alex O https://mail.aol.com/webmail-std/en-us/PrintMessage Friends first Tinder date.
