Don’t forget Syria!” The shooting was among the most brazen retaliatory attacks yet on Russia since Moscow entered the war in Syria on the side of President Bashar al-Assad, and unleashed a bombardment on Aleppo that has drawn international condemnation for what observers on the ground have called indiscriminate attacks on civilians. Russian President Vladimir Putin has canceled plans to visit France next week, after French President François Hollande suggested Russia was guilty of war crimes for its involvement in the Syrian Civil War. _ Russia has supported the Syrian government in its more than 5 year conflict against rebels and recently vetoed a UN Security Council resolution to end airstrikes in Aleppo and allow Humanitarian aid into the city. On Wednesday 15 people, including children, were killed in an airstrike on a marketplace in a rebel-held part of the city of Aleppo, presumably by Russian warplanes. Russia has denied purposefully killing civilians, claiming that it targets terrorist groups. _ France and the U.S., meanwhile, have accussed Moscow of prolonging the conflict by supporting Syria's embattled President, Bashar al-Assad. Washington broke off all negotiations with Moscow nine days ago amid extreme tension over failure to secure a truce. Secretary of State John Kerry agreed to a renewal of talks on Wednesday that will take a multilateral approach to end the violence and resume humanitarian aid delivery. Estimates of total casualties in the civil war are as high as 470,000 since its start more than 5 years ago.: INTERNATIONA SYRIAN CONFLICT Oct. 13 President Francois Hollande of France has accused Russia of war crimes over its involvement in the Syrian Civil War.
