Beautiful, God, and Love: Brandy Gets Emotional During "Moesha" Cast 16-Year Reunion, Talks the Possibility of a Reboot 31 @balleralert 빴 Brandy Gets Emotional During “Moesha” Cast 16-Year Reunion, Talks the Possibility of a Reboot – blogged by @MsJennyb ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The ‘90s are back in full effect. After 16 years, the cast of “Moesha” sat down with the ladies of “The Real” to discuss a potential reboot. During the discussion, Brandy, who played Moesha in the 90s hit, became overwhelmed with emotion. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “This is just such a great moment,” Brandy said. “This is beautiful. This is God. This is love. This is everything. Thank you guys so much for this moment.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The show, which aired from 1996 to 2001, ended with a cliffhanger, which fueled the idea for a reboot. With Moesha’s little brother, Miles, getting kidnapped, Moesha moving in with her boyfriend Hakeem, and a pregnancy test being found in her dorm room, the reboot can pick up from anywhere the original show left off. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ However, two original cast members have since passed on, including Lamont Bentley, otherwise known as Hakeem, who died in a car crash in 2005, and YvetteWilson, better known as Andell, who died in 2012 after battling cancer. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Still, the entire cast agreed that they would be would down for a reboot, with Marcus T. Paulk, who played Miles, throwing out the idea of a movie. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Would you be here for a Moesha movie?

Club, Memes, and The Other Guys: There is an island which is disputed territory between Canada and Denmark. The militaries of both countries periodically visit to remove the other guy's flag and leave a bottle of Danislh schnapps or Canadian whiskey. This is what happens when nice countries fight. Far in the Arctic North lies the barren and desolate Hans Island. The uninhabited half-square-mile island, possessing no apparent natural resources, is a bizarre sliver of territory for two countries to fight over. However, since the early 1930s, this nondescript rock has been at the center of an ongoing disagreement between Canada and Denmark. According to World Atlas, Hans Island is located in the middle of the 22-mile wide Nares Strait, which separates Greenland, an autonomous territory of Denmark, from Canada. Due to international law, all countries have the right to claim territory within 12 miles of their shore. As such, Hans Island is technically located in both Danish and Canadian waters. World Atlas notes that the island was decided to be Danish territory by the Permanent Court of International Justice of the League of Nations in 1933. However, as the League of Nations fell apart in the 1930s and was then replaced by the United Nations, the ruling on the status of Hans Island carries little to no weight. The issue of Hans Island then loss traction in popular consciousness and the concerns of the Canadian and Danish governments throughout World War II and the heights of the Cold War, only to reemerge in 1984. On that year, Denmark's minister of Greenland affairs visited the island and planted a Danish flag. At the base of the flag, he left a note saying, "Welcome to the Danish island," along with a bottle of brandy, CBC reports. And since then, the two countries have waged a not-quite-serious "whiskey war" over Hans Island. Peter Takso Jensen, the Danish Ambassador to the US, has said that "when Danish military go there, they leave a bottle of schnapps. And when [Canadian] military forces come there, they leave a bottle of Canadian Club and a sign saying, 'Welcome to Canada.'"

Alive, Memes, and Taken: Texas Teen Commits Suicide in Front of Her Family After Being Bullied @balleralert Texas Teen Commits Suicide in Front of Her Family After Being Bullied - blogged by @MsJennyb ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Earlier this week, a Texas teen killed herself in front of her family after months of cyberbullying. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ BrandyVela, 18, was a senior at Texas City High School and had been a victim of bullying for her weight. However, the cyberbullying kicked up around April. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "People would make up fake Facebook accounts and they would message her and she wouldn't respond and they would still come at her," Vela's sister, Jackie revealed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "They would say really, really mean things like, 'Why are you still here?' They would call her fat and ugly. She was beautiful, absolutely beautiful; the only thing people could find to pick on her was her weight." Vela exhausted all efforts to avoid the bullying, including changing her number and filing police reports. However, the officials couldn't help because there was no traceability of the harassment, since the bullies used an app. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Ultimately, the harassment was too much to bear. On Tuesday, she sent a text to her sister that read, "I love you so much, please remember that, and I'm sorry for everything." In turn, Jackie called their parents and grandparents, who rushed to Vela's Texas City home, where they found Vela alive holding a gun to her chest. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The family pleaded with Vela, begging her not to pull the trigger. However, Vela's mind had already been made up, reports state. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Vela was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As a result, Vela's family mourns the death of their beloved Brandy. They also hope for stricter laws against cyberbullying and greater awareness for the issue to give meaning to her death.
