Advice, Google, and Instagram: MILEY CYRUS GAUE HER SISTER NOAH SOME UERY GOOD SOCIAL MEDIA ADUICE NEWS In a candid new interview with Elvis Duran, Miley Cyrus discussed the advice she gives her younger sister Noah for surviving fame as a budding pop star. _ Naturally, as a big sis, Miley is pretty protective of her younger idol. β€œWhen you’re in this industry, adults treat kids like adults,” she said. β€œI think it makes you jaded, it makes you guarded, and I don’t ever want her to get like that ... I really hope that she never feels those pressures and I hope other people respect her and don’t actually make her something she’s not.” _ So what's the best way to keep yourself grounded in the public eye? β€œI always tell Noah, 'Keep your Instagram comments turned off,'" Miley said. "'Never read anything that anyone says about you. Don’t Google yourself.'" _ Even though fame is stressful, there are upsides to both sisters being in the same career. Miley says that Noah's fame has actually strengthened their lifelong bond: β€œShe loves me more now that she knows I do something. She always thought I did nothing and that I went to put two wigs on.” _ Miley also noted that Noah's been cooler than her since the two of them were kids β€” there are photos out there of a six-year-old Noah rocking bright pink hair. "Noah's always been punk rock," she said. "Noah is my punk rock icon." _ by Sasha Geffen

"So why not put the power back in my relationship and say, 'This is how I feel'?" Cyrus reveals that she wrote the song on in the back of an Uber on her way from their home to the studio where she was shooting The Voice, and she sheds light on their 2013 breakup and reconciliation. _ "I needed to change so much," she said. "And changing with someone else not changing like that is too hard. Suddenly you’re like, 'I don’t recognize you anymore.' We had to refall for each other." _ "Malibu" will see its release on May 11; her album is a TBD on both the title and release date fronts, so stay tuned for new info on Cyrus's next chapter. _ by Hilary Hughes

America, Disappointed, and Memes: VETERANS COME FIRST TOP CANDIDATE TO REPLACE FLYNN RETIRED SEAL VICE ADM. ROBERT HARWARD Retired Vice Adm. Robert Harward is quickly emerging as a leading contender to replace former national security adviser Mike Flynn, perhaps even the front-runner, according to some sources. Harward enlisted in the Navy out of high school, got a fleet appointment to Annapolis, rose through the ranks to become a Navy SEAL, and ultimately became that community's top commander. He retired in 2013 after serving as the three-star deputy to then-Gen. Jim Mattis at U.S. Central Command, who is now the defense secretary. Harward is familiar with the workings of the National Security Council, and has a background in counterterrorism, having served as director of strategy and policy for the NSC's office of combating terrorism, during the Bush administration. To be true I were quite disappointed about Flynn's resignation. But if such a person as Robert Harward, who has extensive military experience, is put on the national security, there's nothing to worry about in general. Harward was never accused of any wrongdoing and Secretary of Defense James Mattis advocates for the appointment of Harvard. veteranscomefirst veterans_us Veterans Usveterans veteransUSA SupportVeterans Politics USA America Patriots Gratitude HonorVets thankvets supportourtroops semperfi USMC USCG USAF Navy Army military godblessourmilitary soldier holdthegovernmentaccountable RememberEveryoneDeployed Usflag StarsandStripes

Al Sharpton, Memes, and National Action: This 19-Year-old Spelman Student Has Qualified To Run For Office In Georgia th soulia4 A 19-year-old Georgia woman has fought her way onto the ballot, and, if elected, could become one of the youngest elected officials in the United States. Mary-Pat Hector, a sophomore at Atlanta's Spelman College, is seeking a city council seat in the newly incorporated city of Stonecrest, a suburb east of Atlanta that is home to about 50,000 residents. Another candidate in the race challenged her eligibility to run, arguing that she should be barred due to a state law requiring that all elected officials be at least 21 years of age. But Hector, who serves as national youth director for the Rev. Al Sharpton's National Action Network, protested, arguing that if she is old enough to vote she should be old enough to hold political office. The DeKalb County Board of Registrations and Elections on Thursday ruled that Hector can run because the city's charter held no such age restriction. That ruling apparently makes her the youngest woman to run for elected office in Georgia. Stonecrest will hold its first election on March 21. Area residents voted in 2016 to incorporate. Up for grabs are the positions of mayor and five city council seats. Three people are running for mayor and 17 for the council. 17thsoulja BlackIG17th blackgirlsrock blackgirlmagic✨ blackexcellence
