Since 2016, us Batman fans have enjoyed his portrayal as the Caped Crusader. We believed that we finally got a comic accurate Bruce Wayne. But for years he has been ridiculed by clickbait articles and headlines. Each one quote on quote having an โ€œofficial sourceโ€ which would turn out to be someone on twitter with little to no connections to Warner Bros. or DC Comics. I remember back in 2013 I was at my grandparents house trying to watch CNN and saw the news of the new Batman. Meanwhile my grandmother was trying to talk to me about school for some reason. Teaboots Adventures As That White Girl in Horror Movies: teaboot The amount of times I could have been that white girl in the horror movie could honestly be a movie in itself and it's honestly a waste that my entire life isn't constantly recorded on film because it would be HILARIOUS teaboot 1. That one time I decided to see what was past the old gate in the woods, but when got there it had been smashed in half and there was a decapitated sheep head with no skin just off the trail, so instead I just turned around and went home. 2. That time some friends and I went camping and we found a pile of bones wrapped in a garbage bag buried under a log, but the adult supervisor told us it was nothing, so we just put it back and didn't talk about it again. 3. The time I was getting chased through the woods at night and I realized "wait it's dark as fuck so I just held still until the guy gave up and left. . The time this dude said he was in love with me and so he was going to cut my head off and dump my body in a lake, so l told him to grow the hell up, but then he got caught stealing girl's underwear a day later andI never saw him again 5. That one time in college where I was taking a shortcut on my home at night and a car followed me into a dark alley, so I stared directly into the driver's side of the window and walked towards it to psych them out 6. The night I was out on a walk and this old guy told me he'd locked his keys in his truck and that he needed someone my size to crawl in through the back window for him, so I told him you know that sounds super suspicious right and told him where to find a pay phone for a tow truck instead 7. The one time this random guy on the street said he was in love with me and so he was going to follow me home on my bus, so l clapped him on the shoulder and told him that if he got that close to my bus then I was going to throw him under the wheels, but then this really nice homeless man from Nigeria told the guy to fuck off and then checked to make sure he didn't follow me onboard 8. That big cat with yellow eyes who I found in a well and brought home who used to put rotting meat in my closet and wake me up by chewing on my face, until I put him back outside and never saw him again. 9. My one cousin who used to come over for the summer who kept calling me 'piรฑata and hitting me with sticks, until he went back home and was sent to juvie c got caught torturing animals cause he finally 10. The time I got lost on the way to a meeting and wound up at a circus tent instead, and got followed by a full-out clown for three vacant street blocks 11. The pet hamster I had when I was seven who would scream all night and eventually es- caped by ripping a bar out of its cage and wig- gling through the hole. My mom caught it and put it back but it lved another year and a half until one night the screaming just stopped 12. The time I was whistling in the woods and something started whistling back, so I went home 13. That one night at summer camp where a group of girls got together to play 'bloody mary in the lavatory and invited me to come with them so I said "no thanks" and stayed with the camp councillors and drank soup instead. 14. The old abandoned house I just moved into with the door that leads into a big empty room full of dirt and empty cooking pots that I just sort of... locked up forever and never gon ear 15. Once when I was at an ihop I saw a coffee mug do a full 360ยฐ spin with nobody touching it, so I said 'that was neat' and never ate there again 16. The time I took a photo of a big old raven sitting on the crucifix on top of the old town church cause it was the most goth thing l'd ever seen, right? But then it swooped down towards me, so I apologized immediately for being rude, and I felt a little silly for a while but the car that hit me on the way home didn't even leave a bruise so idk be nice to birds teaboot Sorry I know I bring this shit up a lot but sometimes im awake at night and I just. keep thinking teaboot I think the secret to survival is to be good to animals, stay away from men, and say "no elsean Source: teaboot 205.063 notes Teaboots Adventures As That White Girl in Horror Movies

"What's In That Utility Belt: A History of Batman Gadgets" - Explosive Gel: In August of 2009, Rocksteady Studios with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment developed the video game 'Batman: Arkham Asylum for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows. The game was written by 'Batman: The Animated Series' Paul Dini , who created an entirely original plot within the Batman mythos. Wanting to have a central focus setting in the game to limit the Dark Knight's access to help within Gotham, 'Arkham Asylum' was visually inspired by stories such as Grant Morrison and Dave McKean's 1989 one shot graphic novel "Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth". The voice cast included the original BTAS talents such as Kevin Conroy as Batman, Mark Hamill @HamillHimself as Joker and Arleen Sorkin as Harley Quinn. Batman has to fight his way through a Joker controlled Arkham Asylum to stop the detonation of hidden bombs throughout the city of Gotham. In gameplay, Batman's detective skills are enhanced with 'Detective Vision', able to examine objects and individuals providing contextual evidence, and his combat skills are brilliantly showcased with an array of running, kicking, jumping, climbing, and gliding, including dozens of lethal combos, providing a new look into Gotham's infamous insane asylum. Seen in this game and the following sequel and prequel chapters of Arkham City (2011), Arkham Origins (2013) and Arkham Knight (2015), many new gadgets were created to aid the Batman in gameplay, such as Explosive Gel. The Dark Knight would spray an amount of gelignite (in the shape of a crude Bat symbol) on a supposedly weak surface, then would detonate the destructive gel to explode. The Explosive Gel can be used to tear down a surface or used as a weapon against enemies; if henchmen are in the radius of a blast caused by the gadget, it would knock them out temporarily. The Explosive Gel was also an important part in taking down the Titan-enhanced Joker towards the end of "Batman: Arkham Asylum" chapter (clip presented). Even in this highly popular video game franchise, the Caped Crusader's arsenal continues to evolve with the 78 year old character. โœŒ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿฆ‡๐ŸŽฎ: EXPLOSIVE GEL @HISTORYORTHEBATMAN RAT "What's In That Utility Belt: A History of Batman Gadgets" - Explosive Gel: In August of 2009, Rocksteady Studios with Warner Bros. Afternoon Gothamites! During the press round table for the newest DC Animated Film "Batman and Harley Quinn" at San Diego Comic Con this past weekend, veteran Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy weighed in on who is his favorite live action Caped Crusader. According to a transcript from Comic Book Resources, Conroy says โ€œYou know, I thought it was weird when Warner Bros. didnโ€™t give the franchise to one actor when the first started doing the films. You just assumed they were going to cast a Batman and he was going to carry the whole franchise. But then when I saw the different ones โ€” Michael Keaton and Val Kilmer, [George Clooney], and Christian Bale โ€” all the different takes, this was really smart, because each actor does it so differently. And I love seeing all the different takes. I think some of them get Bruce Wayne more than they get Batman, and some of them get Batman more than they get Bruce Wayne. I think Ben Affleck has probably gotten the best balance of the two. Heโ€™s a really good Bruce Wayne and a really good Batman.โ€ The CBR article also references my 2016 @StanLeeComicCon panel with Kevin Conroy, stating when I asked him his favorite live action Batman he enjoyed Christian Bale's portrayal in The Dark Knight Trilogy (you can watch the entire panel on my YouTube channel (History of the Batman, youtu.be-gNdmiQoPBjA) and listen to the audio on my History of the Batman podcast on iTunes!). Good evening Gothamites and I hope you all had a spectacular Sunday! This week we'll have more of our session "What's In That Utility Belt: A History of Batman Gadgets" and more discussions about the evolution of the Caped Crusader! I leave you tonight with the now iconic cover to Batman (Vol 1) 497 and Batman: Knightfall Vol 1 by one of my favorite illustrators, Kelley Jones, who is celebrating his 55th birthday today (July 23)! Known for his Batman runs in the 1990s with writer Doug Moench, Jones has worked on several non-continuity Batman series including "Batman: Dark Joker the Wild" and the Vampire Batman Elseworlds saga beginning with "Batman and Dracula: Red Rain". Both of these comics were very dark and moody, bringing the Batman comic into the horror genre. Jones drew the covers for many of the chapters of the "Batman: Knightfall" crossover storyline as well (cover presented), then became the penciler of Batman with issue 515 (1995 - 1998) and worked on such story arcs as "Contagion". Going for style and mood over realism, Jones' is known for drawing Batman's ears incredibly long, giving him a demonic look and truly bringing the fear to the character's aesthetic that the Dark Knight himself strikes into the hearts of criminals. ๐Ÿฆ‡LISTEN ON ITUNES: http:-apple.co-2tCeD4p๐Ÿฆ‡to my podcast interview with Kelley Jones discussing his decades long contributions to the Batman mythology, be sure to listen and explore this artist's creative process! Good Knight Gothamites! Tomorrow we'll continue our current session "What's In That Utility Belt: A History of Batman Gadgets"! I leave you tonight with a fun account edit! Of course you can disagree with my 4 choices. But in my opinion these 4 have had the most time on the big and small screen as the Caped Crusader and you can judge better than others (such as our current Batman Ben Affleck who has only had a small amount of screen time thus far so it's hard to judge properly) the type of Bruce Wayne and Batman they bring to the table. If you don't agree with my choices, that's totally fine! Which ranked 4 would you have chosen? Let us know in the comments and please be polite to those who have a different opinion than yours, this is just for fun in this Batman community โ˜บ๏ธ As always, thanks for following and all of the constant support on and off of Instagram, it is greatly appreciated! Have a great night and we will have more History of the Batman tomorrow. Remember Gothamites, it's all about Peace, Love and Batman! โœŒ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿฆ‡๐ŸŽฌ๐Ÿ“บ: @HISTORYOFTHEBATMAN @HISTORYOFTHEBATMAN Good Knight Gothamites! Good Knight Gothamites! I hope everyone is having a fun and safe 4thofJuly holiday tonight! Tomorrow we'll begin a brand new Batman history session! I leave you tonight with an account edit made for fun, of course each of these silver screen actors have given their own uniqueness in portraying the Dark Knight. The edit uses a now classic quote from Kevin Conroy's Batman in "Batman: The Animated Series" (Conroy is another Batman seen in theaters in the 1993 film "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm", my favorite!)! Who is your favorite Caped Crusader to grace the big screen over the last 7 decades? As always, thanks for following, have a great night and we will have more History of the Batman tomorrow. As we continue our celebration of Adam West's Batman legacy, it is important to remember that despite the campy nature of West's Caped Crusader, without the 60s "Batman" television series catapulting the character into popular culture and mass media, the Batman we enjoy today wouldn't exist. In fact, Batman probably would have gone into obscurity entering the Bronze Age of the 1970s. Frank Miller's 80s Dark Avenger (bottom panel) to Christian Bale's live action Dark Knight from the early 2000s wouldn't be recognized as groundbreaking stories or personas us as fans see them as today without Adam West providing not just comic fans but fans, young and old all over the world, a true crimefighter of Gotham City who responds to a call from the Batphone or the Bat Signal. Over 12,000 people, including myself, went to the tribute in Downtown Los Angeles last week to see the Bat Signal shine on Los Angeles City Hall remembering the Bright Knight that placed DC Comics' Batman into the iconic place in pop culture he is today. While we discuss Batman in comics weekly here on History of the Batman, most people know Batman from everything else but comics. They watch tv shows like Gotham, play the Batman Arkham video games and watch the DCEU films. But most importantly, everyone has seen Adam West's Batman tv show, seen him drive the Batmobile and have watched the Bat Signal turned on to shine in the sky. As some comic book fans try desperately to find a "comic" connection between the Adam West Bat-Signal on City Hall, there are no Easter Eggs in paying respects to someone who passed away in real life. The City of Los Angeles 10 times over has tuned in to the same Bat-time and same Bat-channel more than turned a page in issue four of Miller's "Batman: The Dark Knight Returns". Mourning doesn't have to be complex. It can be as simple as a gathering of people seeing a special light shine one last time for the man who brought Batman back to life. To be honest with you Gothamites, please don't disrespect West and his global legacy by forcibly overshadowing it with a panel or two because you "stan" over a particular creator. Just celebrate West for what he is, an icon. โœŒ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿฆ‡๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ: OUT IS ATMAN @HISTORY OFTHEBATMAN BATMAN OULDNT EXIST As we continue our celebration of Adam West's Batman legacy, it is important to remember that despite the campy nature of West's Caped Crusader, without the 60s "Batman" television series catapulting the character into popular culture and mass media, the Batman we enjoy today wouldn't exist.
