Anaconda, Memes, and American: Vulture @vulture Amandla Stenberg backed away from #BlackPant to leave space for darker-skinned actors: "I recognize 100 percent that there are spaces that l should not take up." @amandlastenberg we see you 👏🏾👏🏿👏🏼👏🏽 . . Excerpt from article by Vanity Fair: “One of the most challenging things for me to do was to walk away from Black Panther,” Stenberg, who uses “they-them” pronouns, revealed. “I got really, really close and they were like, ‘Do you want to continue fighting for this?’ And I was like, this isn’t right.” . . In the film, Shuri is T’Challa’s genius little sister, the teen whiz who keeps Wakanda so technologically advanced. Like the rest of the principal cast, Letitia Wright is a dark-skinned black actor. Stenberg, who is bi-racial, said they wouldn’t have been a natural fit for the film. . . “These are all dark-skinned actors playing Africans, and I feel like it would have just been off to see me as a bi-racial American with a Nigerian accent just pretending that I’m the same color as everyone else in the movie,” Stenberg said. “That was really challenging, to make that decision, but I have no regrets. Africa, Dancing, and Family: I am struggling to find the words to express my gratitude at this moment, but i will try Filmmaking is a team sport. And our team was made up amazing people from all over the world who believed in this story. Deep down we all hoped that people would come to see a flim about a fictional country on the continent of Africa, made up of a cast of people of African descent. Never in a million years did we imagine that you all would come out this strong, it still humbles me to think that people care enough to spend their money and time watching our film- But to see people of all backgrounds wearing clothing that celebrates their heritage, taking pictures next to our posters with their friends and family, and sometimes dancing in the lobbies of theaters often moved me and my wife to tears For the people who bought out theaters, who posted on social about how lit the film would be bragsed about our awesome cast, picked out outfits to wear, and who stood in line in theaters all over the world- all before even seeing the film.. To the press who wrote about the film for folks who hadn't yet seen it, and encouraged audiences to come out... ones, who came out with their parents, with their mentors, and with their And to the young friends.. Af, Ass, and Beard: When you watchin Black Panther wit yo boo and Michael B. Jordan come on the screen Girls who have fetishes for niggas with beards are the worse. My beard don’t connect so I know my limits are short and few. So when a Michael b Jordan head ass nigga pulls up I have no chance. It’s like Yamcha vs Jiren. So I’m on a double date, my bro, his girl, my girl, and I. We went to see Black Panther. Girls ruthless when they be describing they celebrirty crush. They be having no remorse describing features and attributes that We don’t have. I don’t got that much Virtual Currency to level up. While watching the trailers the girls converse about how hype they are for the movie and the fine line of melanated cast memebers. All throughout the movie when ever one of the dudes appeared shirtless like they on a jet beauty magazine they creamed. Michael B came up me and my bro both seen our girls mouth start to water like in the cartoons when you know they bout to fuck a plate of food. The ride home is where things really turned up. We were having a convo when sex comes up. Sharing each other thoughts my bro ask ( the girl I’m in a date with) So you wouldn’t let a dude hit before marriage?” She respond swiftly “Only if he fine af”. I try to throw myself in there like “ you know I’m up next “. Her response “Boy bye, like I said Girl only if he fine I can ride his dick into the sunset”. I can see my bro giving me eye contact through the rear view mirror. It’s hard to drive when you see disappointment in the rear view. A single tear nosedived from eyes down my cheek. I pulled over to the side of the road and let my girl drive the rest of the way. I’m tryna build something and she playing games. Bury me in Wakanda where the land flows with milk and honey and everybody look like me. Every time I play fortnite I land in lonely lodge. A nigga don’t even be tryna play no more I just sit there and let myself get engulfed in the storm.

And let’s get into 31-year-old Oakland native Coogler, who made history for now having the highest-grossing film ever by a black director. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ BlackPanther now holds the biggest solo superhero launch of all-time! It also takes the crown for the biggest non-sequel opening weekend, the biggest Friday through Sunday opening weekend for a long holiday debut, the biggest long holiday opening weekend and the biggest pre-summer opening weekend (there’s actually more). The film has already gotten esteemed praise from critics on Rotten Tomatoes who gave the film a 97 percent. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We don’t really have to say much, the movie is a one-of-kind BlackMagic masterpiece.
