Dumb, Food, and Fucking: Follow IHoe IHOP @IHOP flat but has a GREAT personality RETWEETS F AVORITES 385 381S 6:00 PM-18 Oct 2015 feels-by-the-foot: edgelowl102: This advertisement from IHOP’s certified Twitter account was taken down within hours of posting, and the company released an apology within two hours that read: “Earlier today we tweeted something dumb and immature that does not reflect what IHOP stands for. We’re sorry.” Referring to pancakes as flat is a perfectly normal claim. Applying personification to food is also commonplace in the social media marketing industry, as it lends a humorous personality to an otherwise boring corporate marketing campaign. The copywriter behind the post likely had innocent intentions and came up with this post using the same process he or she used for hundreds of other posts before it. However, this is a perfect example of a tasteless social media faux pas that created a severe backlash that did more harm than good to the brand’s public image.   The post itself personifies tastelessness more than anything else. By pairing a highly suggestive image with incredibly offensive copy, IHOP effectively told the world that they find misogyny humourous. The brand received the negative backlash of the highly sensitive collective voice of the Internet within minutes and business likely suffered accordingly. As far as I’m concerned, they deserved every inch of animosity they had thrown at them because of this blatant display of idiocy. And as a social media marketer myself, I’m offended that someone allowed this to be posted on an account as large as IHOP’s.   Why are feminists so weak? If you don’t like the joke, great, but some of us got a smile out of it. I’m eating at IHOP later because of this, for sure. They shouldn’t have to apologize.  “The brand received the negative backlash of the highly sensitive collective voice of the Internet within minutes”Boy howdy have you got that right. Get a fucking grip you offense-addicted diaper babies.

Children, Mayweather, and Memes: IG: STANDUP9 So many people paid to watch the Mayweather and McGregor fight... Imagine if everyone paid to build up their communities, or help people in need ... We have resources, many have the right intentions, but we are misguided and don’t ever comprehend our true power as a collective until our backs are pushed to a wall or when we fuel these massive distractions. Tax’s, Lotteries, Sporting events etc are created from our ancestors to create a wealth gap that keeps the poor distracted and poor and the wealthy entertained and well rich. Do you know that colosseums were built to occupy the working class minds so they did not pay attention to the tyranny of their government. Sounds familiar right? How many people are aware the USA is invading 40 nations, all of these nations have documentation of USA troops violating international law such as raping women and children, and murdering innocent people. How often are you shown actual footage of war? They have no problem showing the towers being hit by planes but will never show you what their bombs do on a daily basis for the last 15 years. How many lies has the government told since 01’? How many whistleblowers have been extradited, jailed and murdered? There has been people constantly sacrificing their lives to share this information but TV and the 4th branch of the government AKA the media has everyone distracted and their minds manipulated bu tell lie vision using daily tv shows aka programs to control your mind. It’s called MK Ultra. It’s time to wake up and reclaim your mind. standup911 - Events - @_meetingoftheminds Back up account - @_standup911

Books, Community, and Love: MEET JOSE MUJICA G CONNECTING CONSCIOUSNESS Jose is the president of Uruguay. He drives a 1987 Volkswagen Beetle, donates 90% of his salary to charity every month ($12,500), keeps only $1,250 and is considered "the world's poorest president" "I'm called the poorest president, but I don't feel poor. Poor people are those who only work to try to keep an expensiue lifestyle, & always want more." Now this is someone who stands with the people! Donating nearly 90% of his income to the people of his community. Man that is what a real leader does. They don’t build mega homes, fly private jets, create massive amounts of waste and increase their carbon footprint. They live simple, their love is unconditional (you don’t have to be a member) and their actions move mountains. Man i could only imagine the ripple effect this individual would have here in the states. I wonder how many billion aids would give up their ridiculous status and help out humanity. I wonder how the history books would be written after we humbled ourselves and started to act like a collective consciousness - community. If y’all want me to vote then let’s get this guy into office and I’ll join him too. To add some color to 2017’s meme culture, we invited Justin and Nick, the moderators of Meme Documentation (<a href="https://tmblr.co/mdUW9tqdzDClnF0RPnSPZJw">@memedocumentation</a>), to contribute their expertise to Year in Review.</i><br/></p> <h2>2017 in Memes</h2> <p>Life is fleeting. Life on the internet even moreso. Because of this, my friends and I launched Meme Documentation in 2015. It was a place to document the memes that became popular on Tumblr. We were committed—even checking the Tumblr at our high school prom. After a year of steadfast dedication, we decided to take  2016 to focus on our IRL instead of the URL. We found we missed the memes too much and came back with a vengeance this past year. </p> <p>2017 has been an exciting year of memes on Tumblr. We saw the popularization of  <a href="https://memedocumentation.tumblr.com/post/163767097995/explained-oh-worm-meme"><b>“oh, worm?”</b></a>, discovered Tom Holland may or may not be hiding <a href="https://memedocumentation.tumblr.com/post/163685526110/explained-frog-in-tom-hollands-mouth-meme"><b>a frog in his mouth</b></a>, and debated <a href="https://memedocumentation.tumblr.com/post/164625266690/on-the-origins-of-the-man-checking-out-another"><b>the origins of the distracted boyfriend meme</b></a>. We also noticed that many of this year’s most popular memes had one thing in common: the concept of nostalgia.</p> <h2>The year of nostalgia</h2> <p>Memes are more than just jokes made on the Internet. They’re a way people can connect and feel a sense of belonging. 2017 has been…difficult. It seems many of us have felt the need to look back on simpler times, and the growth of nostalgia-heavy memes reflected that. <a href="https://memedocumentation.tumblr.com/post/161911779555/explained-the-floor-is-lava-meme"><b>The floor is lava meme</b></a> reminds us of the popular childhood game of the same name. <a href="https://memedocumentation.tumblr.com/post/162414119895/explained-woody-collective"><b>The Woody Collective</b></a>, in its own strange way, calls back to the films we enjoyed as kids. Even songs from nearly a decade ago began to resurface as new memes.</p> <figure data-orig-width="245" data-orig-height="200" data-tumblr-attribution="blazepress:kdbQDdK3C3sydwno-wlwPA:ZcTlgo1h8D5xl" class="tmblr-full"><img src="https://78.media.tumblr.com/c97e7983ebcb30561140853dd9f06612/tumblr_nm11s8k3jJ1tq9q5vo1_500.gif" alt="image" data-orig-width="245" data-orig-height="200"/></figure><p>In February 2017, 2008’s “Shooting Stars” by Bag Raiders began to get repurposed in <a href="https://memedocumentation.tumblr.com/post/164030829380/explained-shooting-stars-meme"><b>video remixes</b></a>. Typically, the song kicks in when a person or character flies into space. </p> <p>Over the summer, the 2009’s “Fireflies” by Owl City transformed into a text-based meme that riffs on the line, “You would not believe your eyes if ten million fireflies.” You probably recognize one of the more well-known posts: “<a href="https://memedocumentation.tumblr.com/post/163069671870/you-would-not-believe-your-pants"><b>you would not believe your pants if ten million fire ants</b></a>.”<br/></p> <figure data-orig-width="500" data-orig-height="500" data-tumblr-attribution="owlwithabrokenwing:8fUHVmp27SGAaA8Pl2R_tA:ZjoYHj2L1qZ9R" class="tmblr-full"><img src="https://78.media.tumblr.com/5e19965137d10b554068c0c57f30aa4e/tumblr_op05wgFD5i1ui4jjso1_500.gif" alt="image" data-orig-width="500" data-orig-height="500"/></figure><p>The <a href="https://memedocumentation.tumblr.com/post/165664089680/explained-elf-on-the-shelf-meme"><b>Elf on the Shelf meme</b></a> offered up a double dose of nostalgia, melding the children’s picture book and toy of the same name with 2015’s meme “You’ve heard of Bigfoot, now get ready for Smallhand.”</p> <h2>Memes in the future</h2> <p>All good things must come to an end, and that includes <a href="https://tmblr.co/mdUW9tqdzDClnF0RPnSPZJw">@memedocumentation</a>. We’re moving on in 2018. That doesn’t mean documenting memes has to be over. Anyone can do it. If you love a meme and want to remember it, consider documenting it yourself. Bless Up, Crime, and Drunk: My friend just adopted this strange brown hippopotamus. Pic: reddit u/Herodias @DrSmashlove PP fracture is real, and it’s unfortunate, bruv. The PP is comprised of three tubes, two of which fill up with blood when u aroused. The third is the urethra. If ya girl on top - riding a lil too wild goin ham and bananas on the dih and she super duper waterfall shtatus just making a puddle under u cot damn jumping up and down to hit that super deep shtroke to where yo PP feel like it bout to pop out - she could actually land wrong and u could sustain a fracture - u hear a loud popping or cracking which mean the tissue that surround ya two big tubes can’t withstand the pressure. Down go ya PP. Bruising. Indescribable pain. Blood when u pee. U gotta go straight to the ER and have surgery and even then, u might never do a full flag salute again. That don’t seem very pleasant, do it bruv. To just get yo PP broke. Well how the FVCK u think a woman feel when u putting in work from behind, invade the wrong entry point, and break her b00tyhole 😩. Men who find themselves ‘accidentally’ in the back door are engaging in gross negligence or recklessness - which is a crime. If u drunk and drive, u may not be intending to hit a kid on a bicycle, but if u do, u knew it was possible, and so u liable. That’s at BEST. At worst, y’all in rape territory (let’s call it what it is.) Sadly, I’ve met a LOT of women who will never even try the Backdoor Boogie because of an ‘accidental’ invasion so congrats to all u men who do this - your aggression - wanton stupidity has ruined a pretty awesome act for a whole segment of the female population. The bottom line is that this is inexcusable - either u careless to the point of being reckless, or u a predator. And whether u know it or not bruv u on borrowed time. A lot of ladies like it rough. This isn’t ‘being rough’. It’s not consensual. It’s barely a grey area. It’s actually mostly black and white. Your last partner might have let it slide (no pun intended 😖) but your next one might fvck ya life up - and she got every right to. I am the last one who should be lecturing anybody because I do a lot of sh!t I’m ashamed of so let’s just take this as a collective reminder...Men: let’s do better. ME TOO. Aight? Bless up 🙌

"I think there is universal agreement that marijuana for medical purposes should be completely legal." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Stern continued, “I think we have to change the Collective Bargaining Agreement and let you do what is legal in your state. If marijuana is now in the process of being legalized, I think you should be allowed to do what’s legal in your state.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Harrington revealed he first used medical marijuana after a botched knee surgery while playing for the DenverNuggets. He's already invested $3 million of his own money into the prescription drug industry.
