Let’s ignore that paris and DC (and, ugh, fineeee nyxl) have the same-ish colors. There’s some big things wrong here, at least in my opinion:1. On doomfist’s skin, Paris attempts a unique choice that only nyxl, houston, and seoul have done. They try to push the primary color. Look at the Houston doomfist skin vs the London and Glads one. While all technically have three colors, Houston looks overwhelmingly more like it’s primary black color, and then green, and then if you really look, you can see the silver tertiary color. Paris attempts this- but does one weird thing: they introduce a fourth color. Where the inside of his arm should be red, they put a second, darker blue. :/ hmmm2. In contrast to that, on Widow, they seem to give up on the idea of a more dominant blue color and don’t follow the nyxl/houston/seoul model of more primary color and less secondary. Here, they do what all the other teams do and put primary on body, secondary on legs, and accent on armor bits and leggy criss-cross things. Exceeeeept…. they dont have their gold accents non the hips! Why, if they’re not going to do what nyxl/houston/seoul do and push the primary? All it servers to do is make the red/blue size difference even more even! Also- their gold on her is… bronze looking. Much much darker than the gold on doomfist or on the other team. Weird. 3. The logo. Hoo boy that logo. Why do they have that terrible contrast? Why is the largest, brightest piece of it the yellow if they’re going a) use gold and b) hide the gold on their skins anyway? Why push the blue primary on their logo and on some skins but not on other skins? …anyway- I’m gonna assume this is super boring to most people, but if anyone likes design, I’d love to hear what you think!

Clearly using the blur tool only doesn’t cut it. “Oh but Leo!” You say. “You used cyan and magenta in that color wheel!” Well bitch guess what. this is the digital color wheel. I’d say I mimicked that pretty well, don’t you think? Oh and one other thing, notice how Blue and Yellow are directly opposite each other on this color wheel? That’s because we’re dealing with light, and with light, yellow and blue are complimentary colors. Which is why when you mix them, it looks like this: Which is a pretty neutral gray tone: They cancel each other out on the rgb color wheel when you mix them together. BUT WITH PIGMENT THE PLACEMENT IS DIFFERENT If you’ll notice, yellow and violet are now opposite each other, meaning they’re complimentary colors and if you mix them, they’ll make a neutral gray. But if you mix yellow and blue, same colors as before, YOU GET THIS: Now keep in mind that the person in the video uses a darker blue, so they get a darker green, but the point is that it doesn’t make that neutral gray. Now what happens when we mix yellow and violet paint? Ah yes, you get a bunch of muted colors the more evenly you mix them. What happens when you mix yellow light and purple light? I see, I see. OH AND ONE MORE THING. They didn’t teach you about red blue green and cmyk in pre-k because when most of us were in pre-k digital art was still in its early stages and what fucking seven year old knows how to use a printer. GUESS WHO’S NOT FUCKING DONE YET: The reason the primary colors for light are so dramatically different from the primary colors for paint and ink is because your eye only receives combinations of red light, blue light, and green light. Our eyes do not have a sensor (cone cell) for yellow light. So when we paint with light, red green and blue are our primary colors. Because of our eyes. Furthermore, paint primary colors are colors that cannot be created by mixing other colors together. For paint, they are red yellow and blue, because you cannot mix orange and green to get yellow. Mixing orange and purple paint does not make red. And mixing green and purple paint does not make blue. Mixing blue and green paints will make cyan. Mixing red and blue paints will make magenta. That’s why cyan and magenta aren’t primary paint colors. However, you can’t mix yellow and blue ink and get cyan. You can’t mix red and blue ink to get magenta. And that’s why cyan and magenta are the primary ink colors. Brighter and stronger paints are created through tints and shades, through a thorough understanding of color theory and a few quality paint recipes. Anaconda, Nasa, and Smooth: pictures-of-space: The Two-faced Whirlpool Galaxy NASA image release January 13, 2011 In the image here, most of the starlight has been removed, revealing the Whirlpool’s skeletal dust structure, as seen in near-infrared light. This new image is the sharpest view of the dense dust in M51. The narrow lanes of dust revealed by Hubble reflect the galaxy’s moniker, the Whirlpool Galaxy, as if they were swirling toward the galaxy’s core. To map the galaxy’s dust structure, researchers collected the galaxy’s starlight by combining images taken in visible and near-infrared light. The visible-light image captured only some of the light; the rest was obscured by dust. The near-infrared view, however, revealed more starlight because near-infrared light penetrates dust. The researchers then subtracted the total amount of starlight from both images to see the galaxy’s dust structure. The red color in the near-infrared image traces the dust, which is punctuated by hundreds of tiny clumps of stars, each about 65 light-years wide. These stars have never been seen before. The star clusters cannot be seen in visible light because dense dust enshrouds them. The image reveals details as small as 35 light-years across. Astronomers expected to see large dust clouds, ranging from about 100 light-years to more than 300 light-years wide. Instead, most of the dust is tied up in smooth and diffuse dust lanes. An encounter with another galaxy may have prevented giant clouds from forming. Probing a galaxy’s dust structure serves as an important diagnostic tool for astronomers, providing invaluable information on how the gas and dust collapse to form stars.
