Apparently, Bernie Sanders, and College: Of 306 electors pledged to vote for Donald J. Apparently she now has the dubious distinction of having the most faithless electors of any presidential candidate in history.

And so, for the final time, it has been decided.

Are we reaching that “acceptance” stage of mourning now?

Not really. Apparently Congress doesn’t actually affirm the results until January 6, which means there will be at least a few people petitioning Congress to change their minds.

Certainly there will be objections submitted to challenge the votes, but because those objections, once submitted, require debate by both House and Senate, separately, and after the debate period, the objection must be sustained by both House and Senate for the votes to be rejected, it’s not likely that the votes won’t be affirmed. All these continued efforts to challenge the legitimacy of the election results is doing little constructive, and only damaging the Dems in the process. If there is a serious effort mounted to challenge all the Rep EC votes, they’re going to lose, again, but the cost will be greater in the Congress, for them, in terms of trying to find common ground to get anything done that they want. *sigh* It’s time to just stop this stuff and move forward already.

Oh brother it’s more than “not likely” the votes won’t be affirmed, it’s damn near impossible. I’m just saying these people aren’t going to let it die.

Like how does she know? I remember a saying in Buddhism on compassion, going like “the poor man cannot see the suffering of the rich man, but that does not mean it does not exist or have meaning,” or something like that.

basically, even if you believe your suffering is worse, it is not becoming to use that fact as an excuse to sneer at others.

oppression olympics strikes again!

No one is allowed to feel anything around lesbians, apparently.

Woman One: “High school was a difficult time for me.”

Woman Two: “It was a difficult time for me also, albeit for different reasons.”

Both: “Let us commiserate over our experiences and together find common ground that brings up closer as friends and enables us to better understand and appreciate one another’s perspectives.”

The literal worst thing you can do is try to “call out” a person on some inherent privilege they had based on factors they can’t control when they’re saying they had a bad time at some point. Like? The “straight white girl” could have been harassed or raped or something and race and sexuality wouldn’t magically make her immune to that. Belittling someone else’s experiences to whine about yours is beyond narcissistic.

White woman: High school sucked.
