In a blog post, Sadler said she left because E! paid her less than her male counterpart. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “How can we make it better for the next generation of girls if we do not stand for what is fair and just today?” There is “a massive disparity in pay between my similarly situated male co-host and myself,” she wrote. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Sadler found out about the wage gap earlier in the year and when her contract was up for negotiations, her team tried to get more money, which E! turned down. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “How can I operate with integrity and stay on at E if they're not willing to pay me the same as him? Or at least come close? How can I accept an offer that shows they do not value my contributions and paralleled dedication all these years?" she said. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In turn, E! Told CNN Money, “E! compensates employees fairly and appropriately based on their roles, regardless of gender. We appreciate Catt Sadler's many contributions at E! Anaconda, Arguing, and Empire: NO, BUT SERIOUSLY THE FUTURE IS IN MECHANICS, YEAH MECHANICS! RIGHT WESTP HETASCANLATIONS HETASCANLATIONS.TUMBLR.COm aph-preussen: preussen-invasion: captainbeilschmidt: Taken from the latest comic. PRUSSIA CALLS GERMANY “WEST” MEANING THE NAME HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WALL AS THE COMIC TAKES PLACE IN THE 19TH CENTURY!!!!! That doesn’t necessarily mean that Prussia still can’t have been East Germany. If you look at where Prussia (as in the Duchy of Prussia which was eventually merged with Brandenberg to form the overall Kingdom of Prussia) was, it’s very far to the east of where most of Germany is. Beyond that, the Kingdom of Prussia leading up to unification was to the east of the majority of the other German states. The essence of “Prussianness” was also widely considered to be found in the East-Elbian Juncker landowning class. Moreover, the majority of Imperial German land that didn’t belong specifically to Prussia (since yes, Prussia still existed and actually had hegemony during the Imperial Era)  in the west. It would make sense for Prussia to see his little brother, the German Empire, as his western counterpart. Moving on to when Germany was split between East and West, it was mostly East Prussian lands that were in the Soviet sphere. It is very possible to argue that Prussia has always represented the Eastern Part of Germany, from Empire to GDR.   I’m not sure if op even wanted to imply that Prussia might not be East Germany, but it is 100% obvious that Prussia represented East Germany and there’s no doubt about it. There’s a lot of evidence, the strongest one is imo that Prussia feels ostalgisch,a feeling that only East Germans have

Baller Alert, Finance, and Memes: President Obama Seeks to Secure $1 Billion for Schools with Low- Income Students @baller alert President Obama Seeks to Secure $1 Billion for Schools with Low-Income Students – blogged by @MsJennyb ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As inauguration day draws closer, the Obama administration is looking to implement a last-minute policy that could finance schools with large numbers of low-income students. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ According to CNN, the policy, written by the Department of Education, could force several school districts to limit-cut spending at well-financed elementary and secondary schools to be able to transfer about $1 billion dollars to schools with a large amount of students from low-income families. The policy is currently under review by the White House budget office. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ However, it has stirred up a a lot of trouble among Republican lawmakers and school administrators who are against the new potential policy, claiming it to be “unnecessary” and “unwarranted federal overreach.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Source say the policy was first brought up in September, but since the election, the department has rushed to adopt the policy, in light of DonaldTrump’s forthcoming presidency. If it is done by Friday at noon, there is nothing the Trump administration can do, unless Congress overturns it, reports state. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “If this were to be finalized, it would be a huge deal because it’s saying how local and state money inside school districts is to be distrubuted acorss schools,” a school-finance expert at Georgetown University said. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Additionally, the policy has the ability to “significantly improve achievement for students,” in low income schools, as a former Education Department official, Scott Sargrad states. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “This is the federal government explicitly saying poor students need to have at least the same resources as their higher-income counterparts. That’s a significant step for the federal government to say that,” Sargrad said. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ At this time, the regulation is still under review.

A Dream, Growing Up, and Memes: To all incredible women who strive for excellence When I was growing up, I had a dream. I'm sure you did, too. My dream wasn't like that of an average kid, my dream was to be the best tennis player in the world. Not the best "female tennis player in the world. I was fortunate to have a family that supported my dream and encouraged me to follow it. I learned not to be afraid. I learned how important it is to fight for a dream and, most importantly, to dream big. My fight began when I was three and Ihaven't taken a break since. But as we know, too often women are not supported enough or are discouraged from choosing their path. I hope together we can change that. For me, it was a question of resilience. What others marked as flaws or disadvantages about myself my race, my gender -I embraced as fuel for my success. I never let anything or anyone define me or my potential. I controlled my future So when the subject of equal pay comes up, it frustrates me because I know firsthand that I like you, have done the same work and made the same sacrifices as our male counterparts. I would never want my daughter to be paid less than my son for the same work. Nor would you As we know, women have to break down many barriers on the road to success. One of those barriers is the way we are constantly reminded we are not men, as if it is a flaw. People call me one of the "world's greatest female athletes". Do they say LeBron is one of the world's best male athletes? Is Tiger? Federer? Why not? They are certainly not female. We should never let this go unchallenged. We should always be judged by our achievements, not by our gender For everything I've achieved in my life, I am profoundly grateful to have experienced the highs and lows that come with success. It is my hope that my story, and yours, will inspire all young women out there to push for greatness and follow their dreams with steadfast resilience. We must continue to dream big, and in doing so, we empower the next generation of women to be just as bold in their pursuits Serena Williams SerenaWilliams writes an open letter encouraging Women to " Dream Big!" 👏💪💯 @SerenaWilliams WSHH
