Crime, Memes, and Party: amy d @AmyDentata Following yes, even criminals are people that's how human rights work 5:46 PM - 17 May 2018 Full text if you don’t want to swipe: “Yes, even criminals are people. That’s how human rights work. Because once you stop working that way, you can make anyone into a criminal. Dark skin gets equated to ‘gang member.’ Trans gets equated to ‘sex worker’ or ‘pedophile.’ ‘Sex worker’ gets equated to ‘human trafficker.’ And then before you know it, the state cracks down on everybody that isn’t straight, cis, white, and ‘gainfully employed.’ Of course the loophole has always been there, right there in the 13th amendment. The 13th Amendment to the Constitution declared that ‘Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, EXCEPT AS A PUNISHMENT FOR CRIME, whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.' But people say ‘oh it’s about criminals, so that’s okay.’ It’s not okay to dehumanize anyone. And once you let the state dehumanize anyone, they’ll eventually come after you, too. THE LAW DOES NOT DEFINE MORALITY. Slavery was legal. The Holocaust was legal. Only allowing non-criminals to be human means you give up any and all moral authority to the state, which by design has no concept of morality. If you let criminality dehumanize people, you have rejected the very foundation of morality. If you let criminality justify dehumanization, you are always one legislative act away from losing your humanity. The solution isn’t to get meaner, crueler, and more fascist. The solution is to re-humanize our society, de-militarize our police, de-criminalize people who aren’t causing any harm, and always remember the difference between the law and morality. Remember the difference between the law and how the law is enforced. Refuse to let law enforcement be above the law. Refuse to let ‘law and order’ become our core value, when what we need is a moral foundation that isn’t subject to the whims of legislation or theology.” by @ AmyDentata on Twitter.

Speak out against that instead of making shit up.

I thought it was common knowledge that all the animals in Looney Tunes were based on actual animals, and aren’t meant to represent people.

And by the way, Tasmanian Aboriginals are still around. Truganini was the last full-blooded Palawa, but that doesn’t mean they are “extinct” as those reductive infographics would have you believe. Doesn’t matter how much milk you put in a cup of coffee, it’s still a cup of coffee, and just because Tasmanian aboriginals today are mixed race doesn’t mean they’re not still aboriginal with a living culture and a strong connection to their ancestors and their history.

On Bruny Island, Truganini’s birthplace, which the Nuenone people called Lunnawanna-Alonnah, there is a thriving cultural centre called Weetapoona. The government restored land to Tasmanian aboriginals a few years back. There they are doing some fantastic work to revive their customs, work with archaeologists, as well as achieve reconciliation.

Colonists certainly committed incomprehensible atrocities. Kidnapping, rape, murder, massacre, theft of land, even theft of aboriginal bodies. Not content with taking their lives and exiling them from country, they took bodies as trophies and sent them across the sea, away from land and ancestors. As a way of excusing their atrocities, perhaps, colonisers spread the idea that Tasmanians were the most backward and least evolved of all human beings, making them valuable “specimens.” It was Truganini’s greatest fear that she would be made a souvenir after she died, and unfortunately her fears came true. It took many, many decades before her body was returned to country. I could go on and on, but my point is that it is so important that we don’t spread this idea of extinction and acknowledge them instead as a living culture who must be allowed to define themselves, their past and their future. Spreading nonsense and reductive half-truths like the one above only makes it worse.

OP is either an idiot who can’t do research or a liar.

Comfortable, Fall, and Food: ADVENTURE AWAITS Why is it important to live life with a little adventure?🤔 - Humans have a tendency to fall into a routine. We wake up in the morning. Go to school or work. Come home. Eat. Sleep. It's the same thing everyday. Yet we are comfortable with the same boring thing all the time. It's our comfort zone. - We live in a spot were we know we are safe and sound. But is that really living? Where is the risk? Where is the adventure? If we aren't living our lives to the fullest then why are we here at all? This is why it's important to live a life with a little adventure. 👀 - Adventure is an experience that greatly impacts one's life and begins to define how they live after, but it is the exact definition that can be different for everyone. For example, someone's sense of adventure may be to go to Mount Everest and conquer the mountain while another person's idea would be to go on a hike in a nearby park. Even though these adventures are different, both people will learn valuable experiences that will ultimately change their lives. - So let's all put our phones, laptops, and tablets down and stop looking at those amazing adventure pictures on the internet and get out there. It doesn't have to be a trip to the Caribbean or the jungle. Remember, everyone's adventure is different; go talk to a random person and befriend them, attend a fancy diner that serves authentic Korean food, or take a themed road trip for a weekend. These are all worthy adventures that beak up the daily norm of our lives. This is how you live. Do something different everyday and you will live a life full of adventure. Children, College, and Energy: LICNAIRE WENTOR CHEERS TO ABETTER FUTURE. Start small and strive for a better F*CKING life! 🍾 - Living a life of excellence takes effort, but at the same time is rewarding and gives you energy so that you can keep up your work. Here are a few ideas that you can implement to strive for excellence👇 - ✔️Feel your emotions. Stop muffling your emotions underneath a big blanket and putting your fake-happy-neutral face all the time. Learn from children, who are sad, happy, excited and tired over the course of less than an hour. Feel what truly goes on within yourself, and simply accept it. ✔️Identify your values. To make the right choices in your life, you need to know what truly matters to you. Keep a list of your core values, and write your observations on how you and others live according to these values as well. Revisit your list often to focus your energy on what you value most in life. ✔️Define your limiting beliefs. What is holding you back? What cultural conditioning is keeping you from stepping out from the crowd? Do you think you can’t do it because you’re too old-young, because you haven’t gone to college or because you are a woman? Define your limiting beliefs, and then release them into the wide open. 😉 ✔️Practice gratitude. Learn to be grateful for all positive experiences that come across your path on a given day. Keep a list of 10 things that you are grateful for, every day. When dark days are upon you, be grateful for your health, for life, for your pet… anything that can give you a little spark! ✔️Smile. Energy, Life, and Memes: LEARN FROM THE PAS AND MOVE FORWARD Those who choose to simply forget the past miss out on its fullest potential. There are valuable lessons to be learned from it. And those who choose to ask the right questions about their past are most prepared to live life to the fullest in the present. 😉 - Consider the lessons we can learn from our past. By simply asking the right questions, we can discover… ✔️Strengths that define us. The talents and abilities we use to navigate and provide value to this world define the lives we live and the change we can offer. And by recalling our strengths in the past, we can better recognize our opportunities in the present. ✔️Weaknesses that frustrate us. ‘We all have weaknesses in personality and competence. When left unaddressed, these weaknesses limit our potential for impact and significance. Discover them. Recognize them. And learn to overcome them by seeking the help of others. ✔️Habits that invigorate us. Over the course of our lives, we employ a variety of disciplines to make the most of it. We discover a new diet, a new fitness practice, or a new morning routine. We experiment with them. Some work, some don’t. Eventually, these new disciplines either become habits or they fade from our memory. Look back. Recognize the habits that brought energy, health, and invigoration into your life. And embrace them again. ✔️Motivations that compel us. Deep in our heart, our motivation runs supreme. It determines the decisions we make, the use of our time, and the words we choose to use. Understanding our deepest motivations is a difficult task. It requires stillness, patience, and consistent self-evaluation. But the more we discover why we do the things we do, the easier it is for us to make the most of the present we are living in today. - If we start asking the right questions, there are countless life-giving lessons we can learn from our past. Fail, Life, and Memes: DO IT FOR THE PEOPLE HO WANT TO SEE YOU FAIL. How can you make it happen? Let’s go straight to the tips: ✔️Clearly define the dream. The more clearly you can articulate what you want, the better you’ll stick to it in the face of resistance. Get down to specifics. What does the dream specifically look like? How will you know when you have achieved it? Define this! ✔️Understand why you’re doing what you are doing. Why does this dream matter? There is no right answer to this question. The important thing is just that you can answer it, and that your answer excites you and moves you to action. The more compelling the reasons are that you want to achieve your dream, the stronger your resolve will be to continue. ✔️ Fight Your Inner Naysayer 😉 You might be your own worst naysayer. Our ‘inner naysayer’ is that voice that tells us that we can’t do it: we aren’t smart enough, we aren’t rich enough, we aren’t lucky enough, we don’t know the right people, etc., to be able to pull off our unique vision. Don’t listen! Substitute your inner naysayer with an empowering voice. ✔️Take Risks. Nothing great can be gained if you aren’t willing to take risks. Risk isn’t something to avoid, in fact it can’t be avoided. Even a ‘safe’ job has risks. What is safe about it? There is more to life than just money. There is fulfillment and engagement. You might feel alone, but I want you to know that YOU ARE NOT ALONE. You might be a lot of other things, but not alone. I know undocumented immigrants from across the country - literally every state - that want to be your friend. Let me know and I will introduce you to them. If you are still reading this, then chances are that you can relate. Perhaps you are not as misunderstood as you thought. Nonetheless, I believe you matter and the fact that you have made it this far just goes to show that you are stronger than you give yourself credit for. You deserve to dream, but most importantly you deserve to live. You deserve to live. Make the call if you need to. It is brave to ask for help.” Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 1-800-273-8255

Life, Memes, and Money: MLIOIRE MENTOR IGNORE THIE NAYSAYERS. How can you ignore them? A lot of time the safe jobs don’t have fulfillment. Learn to embrace and enjoy taking risks. - IF you like the millmentortips drop a comment below!👇 - naysayers success motivation risks millionairementor
