Snapchat built a shitty Android app. On iOS, Snapchat uses the phone’s camera directly to take a picture, ensuring the highest possible quality. On Android, Snapchat opens the camera, but then takes a screenshot, instead of telling the camera to take a picture. This means that the camera never gets to adjust it’s focus and lighting, or provide stabilization to the picture. Instead, you get the best that shaky human hands can get, which means low quality pictures. Due to the popularity of Snapchat, this difference actually spreads the superiority complex of iOS. Android manufacturers have been innovating new hardware since the creation of cell phones. Apple only upgrades when they’re worried about being seen as outdated, or they need “new features” to push their phone. It also shows that iPhones are a status symbol, that have no reason to be as expensive as they are. To be fair to Apple, they’ve built a consistent ecosystem. If you have an iPhone, you can pick up any other iPhone and know how it works. Android is different by design however, with literally anyone free to modify it as they want to. Whether that is to fit certain hardware, or add new features, or meet a specific artistic design, Android has more total devices, support for more hardware configurations (even laptops) and is available for anyone to use however they want. Snapchat made a deliberate poor design decision, and should shoulder the blame for their shitty app. But that would require supporting the largest userbase in the world over their elite base of iPhone users.

Advice, Brains, and Coca-Cola: Peanut butter spaceorphan18: sulkingheals: downtroddendeity: jacemp3: monkeysaysficus: audrey-hepbae: catchymemes: 10 tricks you didn’t know you could do with your food. By Blossom The internet went from showing food recipe videos to alchemy in less than a decade. There’s going to be a quick video on how to make the philosopher’s stone from tomato sauce next week.  I WANNA DRINK THE TRANSPARENT SODA leave milk out unrefrigerated in your house for 2 days Some days ago, my sibling sent me this video out of the desperate hope I could provide the catharsis of seeing it torn to pieces. It has now been coming on 72 hours, and only now have I recovered enough to be able to do much of anything but scream, “WHAT?!” and “NO!” at the screen. We had a long discussion about what in the twelve hells this video even is. A surreal, dadaist parody so obscure that our brains aren’t operating on enough levels to comprehend it? The Instagram lifehack equivalent of those terrifying procedurally-generated animated Youtube videos that farm ad revenue by playing millions of times to babies whose parents left the iPad on autoplay? A coded message designed to activate the combat programming of brainwashed cyborg sleeper agents? A post that slipped through a wormhole from an alternate dimension where the laws of reality are different? An emanation of a vast and alien chaos god? I cannot bring myself to confront the claims in this video in the order they are put forth without losing my will to live after the first one, so I will start with the least crazy and work my way up. Bananas to ripen things: More or less true. You’ll sometimes see advice to cooks to store underripe fruit in a paper bag with one piece of overripe (but not rotten) fruit to ripen it more quickly.Misrepresentations: It will probably take longer than overnight to ripen something as green as some of those tomatoes, and it doesn’t have to be a banana. Coca-cola and milk: The coke is more acidic than the milk and curdles it, resulting in solid globs of milk protein which settle out. The brown dye in the coke sticks to the milk protein globs, leaving the excess liquid more or less clear.Misrepresentations: The video has been enormously sped up, which the editing does not make clear; the reaction takes hours. Ketchup to clean metal: To my mild surprise, this is actually a thing (though you could just make a paste out of salt, flour, and vinegar and scrub with that and not get ketchup stains on everything)…Misrepresentations: …for cleaning copper and bronze. Which the jug shown in the video is not. The acid in the ketchup might take some of the tarnish off, say, aluminum, but at that point you might as well just use vinegar. Sparkling water omelet: Omelet souffles are a thing.Misrepresentations: You… literally do not need the sparkling water… you can just beat the eggs until they’re fluffy… “Warm water clears wax from fruits!”: This is a mysterious and arcane procedure called “washing.”Misrepresentations: I don’t know what the hell they even did to the video on this sequence but as a person who has washed many apples in warm water, it does not look like that and the thin layer of edible wax applied to make them look good in the grocery store does not come off that easily. Sprite to clean earrings: Again, this will take tarnish off some metals just due to the acid, but…Misrepresentations: DO YOU WANT GROSS STICKY EARRINGS AND EAR INFECTIONS? JUST USE VINEGAR WATER. Also, “dirt” is not a kind of molecule. (Incidentally, if the earrings are silver, there is a vastly better method that actually reverses the tarnish instead of removing it.) Insta-freeze bottle: This is a real thing…Misrepresentation: …which absolutely will not happen if you follow their instructions, because a) they neglect to mention an important caveat (the water needs to be purified/distilled) and b) 5 minutes is not long enough for a water bottle to supercool. If you google any of the myriad videos and articles of people doing this trick, you’ll see numbers like “3 hours in the freezer” or “40 minutes in a salted ice bath.” There is video of the trick working. Either that footage was taken from someone else, or they knew how to do it, did it, and then deliberately lied about the time for no apparent reason. Putting a broken plate in milk for two days magically fixes it: To my immense surprise, they didn’t make this one up; the idea is that the milk protein casein can form into a plastic at high temperatures and bind to the ceramic. Googling it turned up some hobbyist potters commenting that they’d used it to salvage things that had cracked slightly in the kiln.Misrepresentations: Once again, they’ve misrepresented the method: everything I saw talking about how to do it said to boil the milk and then soak for an hour, not leave it out for two days like an offering to the pixies. And most of what I saw reported about it also said it only really works on hairline cracks, not full breaks, and doesn’t hold up long-term because the real structural damage isn’t repaired. And may leave a faint and persistent odor of boiled milk. Just use superglue. “Reveal the genetic memory of the honeycomb”: This is the kind of gibberish predicated on so many nonsensical assumptions that unpacking it would be more trouble than it’s worth. Plus, well, I can barely see anything with the low video quality, but what I can see of the vague blur doesn’t look much like a honeycomb in the first place. Suffice to say: “Honey looks like a honeycomb” isn’t even in the ballpark of what’s generally meant by “genetic memory,” what’s generally meant by “genetic memory” is also complete hooey, and fluid dynamics is weird and swirling a thick, viscous, water-soluble liquid with a layer of water on top is going to do weird things. But at least that I could potentially attribute to ignorance rather than deliberate intent to deceive, unlike… Hot coals and peanut butter This is the reason it’s taken me this long to post this. Every time I think about it my soul starts to leave my body. It’s such a mind-boggling level of bullshit that every time I’ve tried to put words around an explanation I’m quickly reduced to staring at the screen and mouthing “No” to myself in a voice of quiet despair, because I can’t even figure out where to start. Well, okay, I guess I might as well start by saying I think their… let’s say inspiration on this was articles about scientists who made diamonds out of peanut butter and carbon dioxide. …With a press that’s designed to recreate the conditions of the earth’s mantle, and which is prone to exploding. So, you know, not something you can do in your kitchen. Unless you have one hell of a kitchen. You can see the direct links to this in the nonsensical claim that this “works” because peanut butter contains carbon dioxide. (It doesn’t, particularly. It’s crushed peanuts mixed with oil. You know what would have a lot of carbon dioxide? The fire you pulled that glowing lump of charcoal out of.) It also mentions “pressure” when no particular pressure is involved, presumably because we’ve all heard about turning coal into diamond under heat and pressure. Chemically speaking, there’s very little to make that crystal out of except carbon, unless you want to posit a mass migration of all the sugar molecules in the peanut butter to the center of the coal. And “carbon crystal” = “diamond,” and do you think if it was that easy to make diamonds they’d be that expensive? I will guarantee you that crystal is a lump of quartz they covered in black crud and then peanut butter to pretend it was the charcoal. But, of course, all of that is irrelevant, because by reblogging this at all, even to performatively despair that the internet does not seem to have come all that far since the days of Infinite Chocolate, I’m playing into their hands. Lifehack clickbait has done this forever- they deliberately seed in wrong or awful advice because people will share that to say how stupid/wrong it is. They led with complete insanity to get attention, and I gave them eyeballs on the video watching this, and I’ll be giving them more from writing this. Maybe I’ll stick to the chaos god theory. It’s less depressing. @ohnofixit I apologize for being stupid enough to believe that video so reblogging the breakdown of why it was wrong. Why you shouldn’t believe everything on the internet.

History isn’t one straight line progressing towards a liberal society. Look how much Americans attitudes have changed between 1980 and today. 1980 was the first time most very religious people voted, they abstained before that at the behest of their churches. Now they dictate policy at every election. In my family photo album there are pictures from the 20s of a woman called ‘uncle bob’. She dressed in men’s clothing, and had a ‘companion’. This was a rough industrial town, they were working class, nobody cared. It was her business. This is why politics is important - the moment you think everything is better today than it was in the past, you let other people take control of the direction society goes in - with you sitting back presuming we’re going forwards. reblogging for the commentary Also, I just want to point out – look at the lengths of the sleeves on both of them. Look at the curve of her waist. Look at how far the hem of the dress is from the floor. They didn’t just swap clothes with each other for a joke. Those clothes are THEIR OWN – literally made and tailored for their bodies specifically. In that time, buying clothes was INCREDIBLY expensive. An average person might have three or four outfits total. These people ARE a little on the wealthy side (his skirt is silk; her jacket is of clearly fine quality, and her trousers have a crisp crease from ironing), but they still wouldn’t have owned clothes in the quantity and variety that we do today. All of these clothes were a deliberate and intentional investment of a not insignificant amount of cash and time. They wear these clothes regularly. It’s fake tho Its a deviantart fetish pic?!? It’s a damn fine edit though Not really. One glance at the necks and you can pretty much tell it’s shopped. Tumblr is so gullible.

Fucking, Jealous, and Love: CRYBABY MelanieLBBH I am horrified and saddened by the statements and story told tonight by Timothy Heller. What she and I shared was a close friendship for a period of time. We came into each other's lives as we were both starting our careers as artists, and we tried to help each other. We both had pain in dealing with our individual demons and the new paths we were forging, but I truly felt we were trying to lift each other up. She never said no to what we chose to do together. And although we parted ways, I am sending her love and light always. 2:37 AM Dec 5, 2017 <p><a href="https://genopsycho.tumblr.com/post/168219455761/okay-lemme-explain-why-this-is-basically-an" class="tumblr_blog">genopsycho</a>:</p> <blockquote><p>Okay lemme explain why this is basically an admission of guilt and therefore qualifies as the “evidence” every dumbass Melanie stan has been looking for:</p> <p>- The word choice is EXTREMELY deliberate. Notice how instead of saying “it was consensual” or even “she said yes” Melanie says “she didn’t say no.” This is pulled straight from the book of “excuses rapists use to justify their actions;” despite the fact that it’s likely a lie (Timothy says that she said no multiple times and I’m obligated to believe her because why tf would she lie about that) even if it is true is doesn’t make what happened not rape. If Timothy was coerced and pressured into sex it doesn’t matter if she “didn’t say no” or even if she said yes. She was manipulated, making this a rape.</p> <p>- Admission of engaging in sexual activity with Timothy flushes those bullshit “they were just casual acquantainces” and “Timothy is just jealous of Melanie’s fame” theories down the toilets. I hope everyone who claimed that feels real fucking disgusting right now.</p> <p>- Melanie has dug her own grave by simultaneously asserting that a) she initiated sex with Timothy and b) she terminated their friendship shortly after, which is a blatant signal of manipulation; inspiring complete dependency, followed by abandonment, cultivating trust issues and emotional trauma that will last a lifetime. I know because this has happened to me, multiple times. It’s an abuse tactic and it needs to be taken seriously.</p> <p>tweet src: <span><a href="https://mobile.twitter.com/MelanieLBBH/status/937949003777372162">https://mobile.twitter.com/MelanieLBBH/status/937949003777372162</a></span></p></blockquote>
Being Alone, Batman, and Books: LIBRARIAN HUMOR ISEE WHAT YOU DID THERE 0 dracophile: randomthingieshere: pheenixwright: invenblocker: pheenixwright: invenblocker: pheenixwright: invenblocker: forthefuns: follow forthefuns for more funny stuff Your honor! Please direct your attention towards the manga. As you can see there are small pieces of paper sticking out of every volume. But no such paper is sticking out of the Batman comic. The reason? The Batman book doesn’t belong to the library. The photographer put it there to take a picture. Once again making hasty assumptions, Wright?First of all, I’d like to direct the court’s attention to this particular spot, in the top right-hand corner.Notice how the words are blocking the top of the Batman book. With this in mind, how can you claim that there is “no such paper sticking out of the Batman comic”?! Say whaaaat?Well uhmLook at the size of the paper pieces, they’re all sticking pretty far out.If there was paper in the batman comic, it would be big enough to stick up over the text. And while gravity does exist, it probably won’t make the paper do a 90 degree turn and just lean horisontally left at the middle.Still grasping for straws, Wright?Hypothetically, if there were a paper there, this picture would not be able to prove its presence. I’ve taken the liberty of drawing a diagram to illustrate my point. We are faced with three possibilities. It is possible that (1) the paper was simply tucked in deeper than the others.Paper is a soft material, Wright. It’s not unreasonable for it to do a (2) 90 degree turn. Or perhaps, (3) a paper does not exist there at all. Either way, you cannot prove your client innocent without sufficient evidence.   Which, of course, is impossible thanks to the obtrusive words. I’m sorry Edgeworth.I concede that I can’t disprove theory 1But the image you submited for theory 2 is contradictory.Look at the tilt of the other papers. They clearly prove how much the paper would tilt. And theory 3 is my point! Why would the library’s book not have this piece of paper when the other library books do?While you still have thory 1, there is another contradiction. The books are not in alphabetical order, this proves that the batman comic was placed there specifically for the picture! Ack.(Perhaps I should’ve left the artistry to the forensic artist…)Now hold it right there! It doesn’t matter which direction the paper is going because it’s impossible to prove it even exists! Those theories are all the same! We do not have enough information to prove them. There could be an infinite amount of papers in there for all we know. I simply presented them only so that the court could better understand your baseless conjecture!… I suppose the order of the books do seem out of the ordinary. However, therein lies not just one possibility. Clearly, those are Japanese graphic novels, also known as “manga”. And the Batman comic book is a graphic novel, too, no?Seeing as it currently has only graphic novels in the shelf, it is possible that any other novels have simply not yet been restocked. Asserting whether or not this effect was deliberate is useless– there is no way of knowing if the photographer and the captioner are the same person, let alone their involvement in this picture.Face it Wright, you can’t prove any of these groundless accusations! Did everyone just ignore the library sticker?

Women were raped and crucified, people had horseshoes nailed to their feet as they were marched through the streets. Unspeakable atrocities were perpetrated. Yet almost no-one in the Islamic world, and too few in the West will acknowledge it even happened.</h2> <p>As the world continues to look on in dismay at the barbaric atrocities committed against Christian minorities by the Islamic State – the self-proclaimed new “caliphate” – today, April 24, marks the genocide of Armenian and other Christian minorities by Turkey’s Islamic Ottoman Empire, the last caliphate.</p> <p>Most <a href="http://www.anca.org/genocide/denial.php">American historians</a> who have examined the question agree that what the Armenians experienced was a deliberate, calculated genocide:</p> <p>More than one million Armenians perished as the result of execution, starvation, disease, the harsh environment, and physical abuse. A people who lived in eastern Turkey for nearly 3,000 years [that is, 2,500 years before the Islamic Turks invaded and occupied Anatolia, now known as “Turkey”] lost its homeland and was profoundly decimated in the first large-scale genocide of the twentieth century. At the beginning of 1915 there were some two million Armenians within Turkey; today there are fewer than 60,000.</p> <p>One-and-a-half million Armenians were eradicated. If early 20th century Turkey had had the apparatuses and technology to execute in mass – such as 1940s Germany’s gas chambers – the entire Armenian population could well have been annihilated.</p> <p>The atrocities suffered by Armenian and other Christian minorities are too long to list. As occurs under the current caliphate – the Islamic State – the Muslims of the Ottoman caliphate abducted, raped, and slaughtered or sold countless Christian women and children on the Muslim slave markets.</p> <p>Armenian Christians were also sadistically tortured – as Christians are today under the Islamic State.</p> <p>On <a href="http://www.frontpagemag.com/2015/lloyd-billingsley/the-islamic-state-then-and-now/">FrontPage Magazine</a>, Lloyd Billingsley writes:</p> <p>Torture squads would apply red-hot irons, tear off flesh with hot pincers, then pour boiled butter into the wounds. The soles of the feet would be beaten, slashed, and laced with salt. Dr. Mehmed Reshid tortured Armenians by nailing horseshoes to their feet and marching them through the streets. He also crucified them on makeshift crosses.</p> <p>The Muslims hacked Armenians to pieces and dashed infants on the rocks before their mothers. They burned bodies not for sanitary reasons but in search of gold coins they believed the Armenians had swallowed. The Muslims also tore apart the victims’ feces in the search for gold. U.S. consul Leslie Davis, a former attorney and journalist, documented the Islamic zeal.</p> <p>“We could all hear them piously calling upon Allah to bless them in their efforts to kill the hated Christians,” Davis wrote. “Night after night this same chant went up to heaven and day after day these Turks carried on their bloody work.” Around Lake Goeljik, Davis wrote, “thousands and thousands of Armenians, mostly innocent and helpless women and children, were butchered on its shores and barbarously mutilated.”</p> <p>In her memoir, Ravished Armenia, <a href="http://www.genocide-museum.am/eng/online_exhibition_6.php">Aurora Mardiganian</a> described being raped and thrown into a harem – <a href="http://www.raymondibrahim.com/islam/muhammad-and-islams-sex-slaves/">akin to the experiences of today’s non-Muslims under Islamic State authority</a>.</p> <p>Unlike thousands of other Armenian girls who were killed after being defiled, she managed to escape. She recalls seeing <a href="http://books.google.com/books?id=r_O_lkCGHOsC&amp;pg=PA107&amp;lpg=PA107&amp;dq=%E2%80%9CEach+girl+had+been+nailed+alive+upon+her+cross,+spikes+through+her+feet+and+hands,%E2%80%9D&amp;source=bl&amp;ots=610-sOzCgq&amp;sig=3Na9l_6_2Bci2ulLu7HOFVxsYD0&amp;hl=en&amp;sa=X&amp;ei=cAp4UYyRIqXriwK0rYGICw&amp;ved=0CEAQ6AEwAg#v=onepage&amp;q=%E2%80%9CEach%20girl%20had%20been%20nailed%20alive%20upon%20her%20cross%2C%20spikes%20through%20her%20feet%20and%20hands%2C%E2%80%9D&amp;f=false">16 Christian girls crucified</a> in Malatia: “Each girl had been nailed alive upon her cross, spikes through her feet and hands, only their hair blown by the wind, covered their bodies.”</p> <p>Because there is no dearth of evidence concerning the historical reality of the Armenian Genocide, 44 U.S. States have recognized it. South Dakota, which recently joined the list, <a href="http://armenianweekly.com/2015/02/26/south-dakota/">passed a resolution</a> in February 2015 calling on</p> <p>Congress and the president of the United States to formally and consistently recognize and reaffirm the historical truth that the atrocities committed against the Armenian, Greek, and other Christians living in their historical homelands in Anatolia constituted genocide and to work towards equitable, stable, and durable Armenian-Turkish relations.</p> <p>Turkey, of course, continues to deny that its forbears ever committed any genocide. As a group of American academics <a href="http://www.anca.org/assets/pdf/armenian_genocide_reference/professionalethics_lifton.pdf">wrote back in 1995</a>,</p> <p>Despite the vast amount of evidence that points to the historical reality of the Armenian Genocide – eyewitness accounts, official archives, photographic evidence, the reports of diplomats, and the testimony of survivors – denial of the Armenian Genocide by successive regimes in Turkey has gone on from 1915 to the present.</p> <p>Nor is the Islamic government of Turkey alone in denying the genocide. President Obama still refuses to acknowledge it – even though when he was running for office in 2008 <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20081117033141/http:/www.barackobama.com/2008/01/19/barack_obama_on_the_importance.php">he professed his</a>:</p> <p>firmly held conviction that the Armenian Genocide is not an allegation, a personal opinion, or a point of view, but rather a widely documented fact supported by an overwhelming body of historical evidence. The facts are undeniable….  [A]s President I will recognize the Armenian Genocide….  America deserves a leader who speaks truthfully about the Armenian Genocide and responds forcefully to all genocides. I intend to be that president.</p> <p>Since taking office, Obama has refused to stand by his word. On Tuesday, April 21, the White House announced that it would again, for the seventh year since Obama’s pledge, not use the word “genocide,” thereby disappointing many human rights activists.</p> <p>Writes the <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/22/world/europe/white-house-acknowledges-armenian-genocide-but-avoids-the-term.html?_r=0">New York Times</a>:</p> <p>The president’s continued resistance to the word stood in contrast to a stance by Pope Francis, who recently called the massacres “the first genocide of the 20th century” and equated them to mass killings by the Nazis and Soviets. The European Parliament, which first recognized the genocide in 1987, passed a resolution last week calling on Turkey to “come to terms with its past.”</p> <p>The Armenian National Committee of America responded by saying: “The president’s surrender represents a national disgrace. It is a betrayal of the truth, and it is a betrayal of trust.”  The Armenian Assembly of America said “His failure to use the term genocide represents a major blow for human rights advocates.”</p> <p>But the president’s actions are consistent in other ways. Put differently, it is no marvel that Obama denies the genocide of Armenian and other Christian minorities at the hands of Muslims from a century ago, when one considers that he denies the rampant Muslim persecution of Christians taking place under – <a href="http://www.raymondibrahim.com/muslim-persecution-of-christians/confirmed-u-s-chief-facilitator-of-christian-persecution/">and often partly because of</a> – his leadership today.</p> <p>Raymond Ibrahim, a regular contributor to <a href="http://www.thecommentator.com/">The Commentator</a>, is author of <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1621570258/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=1621570258&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=uhurnetw-20">Crucified Again: Exposing Islam’s New War on Christians</a></p> </blockquote> <p> “You care about getting people to believe as you do or die for refusing.” <a class="tumblelog" href="https://tmblr.co/mmzaZqAtysnVR1iZrVV8erw">@impulsebyimpulse</a> I’m pretty sure that’s what the Caliphate did to the Armenians and what IS is doing now to their own enemies; are you really convinced this tumblr post is calling for the death of people who deny the Muslim involvement in these genocides and terror attacks? Being Alone, Batman, and Books: LIBRARIAN HUMOR ISEE WHAT YOU DID THERE 0 bejeweledaqua: dracophile: randomthingieshere: pheenixwright: invenblocker: pheenixwright: invenblocker: pheenixwright: invenblocker: forthefuns: follow forthefuns for more funny stuff Your honor! Please direct your attention towards the manga. As you can see there are small pieces of paper sticking out of every volume. But no such paper is sticking out of the Batman comic. The reason? The Batman book doesn’t belong to the library. The photographer put it there to take a picture. Once again making hasty assumptions, Wright? First of all, I’d like to direct the court’s attention to this particular spot, in the top right-hand corner. Notice how the words are blocking the top of the Batman book. With this in mind, how can you claim that there is “no such paper sticking out of the Batman comic”?! Say whaaaat? Well uhm Look at the size of the paper pieces, they’re all sticking pretty far out. If there was paper in the batman comic, it would be big enough to stick up over the text. And while gravity does exist, it probably won’t make the paper do a 90 degree turn and just lean horisontally left at the middle. Still grasping for straws, Wright? Hypothetically, if there were a paper there, this picture would not be able to prove its presence. I’ve taken the liberty of drawing a diagram to illustrate my point. We are faced with three possibilities. It is possible that (1) the paper was simply tucked in deeper than the others. Paper is a soft material, Wright. It’s not unreasonable for it to do a (2) 90 degree turn.  Or perhaps, (3) a paper does not exist there at all.  Either way, you cannot prove your client innocent without sufficient evidence.   Which, of course, is impossible thanks to the obtrusive words. I’m sorry Edgeworth. I concede that I can’t disprove theory 1 But the image you submited for theory 2 is contradictory. Look at the tilt of the other papers. They clearly prove how much the paper would tilt. And theory 3 is my point! Why would the library’s book not have this piece of paper when the other library books do? While you still have thory 1, there is another contradiction. The books are not in alphabetical order, this proves that the batman comic was placed there specifically for the picture! Ack. (Perhaps I should’ve left the artistry to the forensic artist…) Now hold it right there! It doesn’t matter which direction the paper is going because it’s impossible to prove it even exists! Those theories are all the same! We do not have enough information to prove them. There could be an infinite amount of papers in there for all we know. I simply presented them only so that the court could better understand your baseless conjecture! … I suppose the order of the books do seem out of the ordinary. However, therein lies not just one possibility. Clearly, those are Japanese graphic novels, also known as “manga”. And the Batman comic book is a graphic novel, too, no? Seeing as it currently has only graphic novels in the shelf, it is possible that any other novels have simply not yet been restocked. Asserting whether or not this effect was deliberate is useless– there is no way of knowing if the photographer and the captioner are the same person, let alone their involvement in this picture. Face it Wright, you can’t prove any of these groundless accusations! Did everyone just ignore the library sticker? D E AD

Life, Memes, and Common: HOLD ON TO YOUR SALAH BECAUSE IF YOU LOSE THAT YOU LOSE EVERYTHING GARDENOFTHEPIOUS A common habit among many Muslims today is to abandon salah, especially the dawn and evening prayers. This poisonous habit of abandoning prayers, whether due to laziness or deliberate negligence, will cause many people to enter the hellfire on the Day of Judgement. - When a person starts neglecting the prayers, other negative effects follow, such as failing to perform good deeds and regularly falling into sinful acts. Such people deny the final day and continue with their defiance until death overtakes them, but by then it will be too late to repent and to be forgiven for their disobedience. - To neglect salah, is to be de-linked from Allah and deprived of His mercy, for it is a remedy for all the diseases of the heart and for what corrupts the soul. How can we hope to patiently fight against injustice and oppression, if we can barely stand up for any of our five prayers. It is no wonder then that the Ummah today lags behind in almost all areas of life, and is constantly humiliated. - “...and establish regular prayer, for prayer restrains from shameful and unjust deeds, and remembrance of Allah is the greatest thing in life without a doubt. And Allah knows the deeds you do.” (Quran, 29:45) - May Allah make the five daily prayers the coolness of our eyes and a source of salvation in the Hereafter, Ameen. - @gardenofthepious

9/11, America, and Dicks: YOU GROW UP WANTING T RE LUKE SKYWALKER, THEN REALIZE YOU'VE RECOME A STORMTROOPER FOR THE EMPIRE Q4biddenknowledge You Grow Up Wanting to be LukeSkywalker, Then Realize You’ve Become a Stormtrooper for the Empire. Someone asked... "How do you Americans as a people walk around head held high, knowing that every few months your country is committing a 911 size atrocity to other people. Imagine if the 9-11 terror attacks were happening in america every few months. Again and again, innocent people dying all around you. Your brothers and sisters. For no reason?" DanielCrimmins from U.S. Army 3rd Infantry Division answered: You fight, you kill, you watch friends die, and you notice a distinct lack of change. You kick in doors and tell terrified women to sit on the floor while you and your friends ransack their home, tearing the place apart, because they might be hiding weapons. There is no reason to believe this house in particular is enemy, same for the next one, and the one after that, or the seven before; they just happened to be there, and maybe they had weapons. Probably not, they almost never did. There were a few times when we had deliberate raids based on solid intel and we’d turn up some stuff, but generally we were just tossing houses because we could.... Then you realize you haven’t seen anything to support the idea that these poor fuckers are a threat to your home. You look around and you see all he contractors making six figure salaries to fix your shit, train Iraqis, maintain the ridiculous SUVs the KBR dicks ride around in. You consider the fact that every 25mm shell costs about forty bucks, and your company has been handing those fuckers out like shrapnel flavored parade candies. You think about all the fuel you’re going through, all the ammo and missiles and grenades. You think about every time you lose a vehicle, the Army buys a new one. Memes, Period, and 2017: We are living in the year 1720 not 2017 According to the Phantom Time Hypothesis theory, the period between 614 ad and 911 ad didn’t exist; the history normally attributed to that time is either a misinterpretation or a deliberate falsification of the evidence. If this were true, Charlemagne (reigned 768-814) never existed and the year 2017 is actually 1720 ad. the idea was created in 1990 by a man called Heribert Illig and has since been developed by other German historians as well as conspiracy theorists. Arguments in favor of the theory are : the apparent stagnation in the development of architecture, ceramics and thought as well as the lack of substantial documentary evidence – this is why the first part of this period is called the ‘Dark Ages’ - suggests this period simply didn’t exist. there is very little archaeological evidence which can be reliably dated to this period; our account is based on a quite limited number of written sources (which could be faked or just wrong). the Pope introduced the new Gregorian calendar in 1582 to replace the Julian one, when it was 10 days out of sync. if the error had been building up since the introduction of the Julian calendar in 45 ad, it ought to have been 13 days out – so the intervening period must have been overstated by 300 years. mainstream historians have a simple explanation, though: the purpose of the change was to bring the calendar into line with the Council of Nicaea in 325 ad, not with 45 ad – which accounts for the discrepancy. architect, astronomer, educator, philologist, folklorist, lawmaker, statesman - the range of achievements credited to Charlemagne is so great that it implies he is a mythical figure. what do you think?⠀
