Head, Memes, and Money: Utah Nurse Reaches $500,000 in Settlement Money After Being Arrested for Doing Her Job @balleralert Utah Nurse Reaches $500,000 in Settlement Money After Being Arrested for Doing Her Job - Blogged by: @RaquelHarrisTV ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ A Utah nurse was aggressively arrested this past July for doing her job. She has now reached $500,000 in settlement money with Salt Lake City and the university that manages the hospital where she works. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ On July 26th, AlexWubbels was arrested for refusing to let DetectiveJeffPayne draw blood from an unconscious patient who was involved in a car crash. Payne's body cam footage shows him man-handling Wubbels during the conflict. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Wubbels explained to the detective that he's required to have a warrant or the patient's consent before blood is drawn. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "I’m just trying to do what I’m supposed to do, that’s all,” said Wubbels, the head nurse of the hospital’s burn unit. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Wubbels' answer wasn't good enough for Payne, so he pressured her more. When she still refused, Payne chased her down and handcuffed her as she screamed for help. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Not only was the detective fired from the Salt Lake City Police Department last month but his supervisor, James Tracy, also got a little piece of justice - he was demoted for assisting Payne with the arrest. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And Wubbels' keeps adding to her good deeds list. She's decided to use her settlement money to help people obtain body cam footage and will donate a portion of the $500,000 to the UtahNursesAssociation and to support the national EndNurseAbuse campaign.

Memes, Mike Brown, and Police: Utah Officer Fired For Arresting Nurse Who Refused To Draw Blood @balleralert 1 Utah Officer Fired For Arresting Nurse Who Refused To Draw Blood - blogged by @baetoven_ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The SaltLakeCity Police Department has fired the police officer who was recorded aggressively arresting a nurse who refused to allow him to take a blood sample from an unconscious patient earlier this summer. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The incident occurred after an off-duty officer was involved in a crash with a truck driver who was fleeing the police. Video from the officers' body cameras showed Detective Jeff Payne aggressively handcuffing and arresting AlexWubbels after she refused to draw blood from the driver because Payne didn't have a warrant nor consent from the patient. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ An internal affairs report, released last month, found that both officers violated department policy. In a "notice of decision" letter, Salt Lake Police Chief Mike Brown faulted Payne for not de-escalating the situation and said they failed in their requirement to treat all citizens "equally with courtesy, consideration and dignity." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Brown also demoted Payne's watch commander, Lt. James Tracey, to the rank of officer. They both have five days to appeal the action.

Memes, Phone, and Singing: That face you make when you successfully curb the creeper who's been hitting you up for years. Tag a friend who's made this face!!! 😂😂😂😂 Tennessee Luke is the man behind me and the first time I met him on set of a @badweatherfilms sketch he tried to get me to invest in his billiards business. At the beginning of his pitch while on set he said I would get 50% of the companies profits then he demoted me to 10% at the end of his 20 minute pitch in between takes. He couldn't remember my name but by the end of day he felt that he should continue to talk to me about investing in his million dollar idea. He even followed me to my car to invite me over to his house so we could play billiards. I declined with a smile. The second encounter with him he was singing to me in an office setting and I didn't ask him to sing. The only time he stopped singing was when I answered my phone to talk to @sam92687 so I could figure out how to get on the floor he and Peter were on @studio71us so we could film the @gameofthrones parody for @badweatherfilms YT Channel. He continued to sing as soon as the call ended and wouldn't stop until Sam met us in the lobby. He did not offer up his musical talent to Sam or Peter during filming. This man is a character and a legend in badweatherfilms history. I'm sure I'm not the first to curb him!! 😂😂😂Watch out for him in the DM's ladies!!! 😂😂😂

Baller Alert, Black Lives Matter, and Children: Fox News Sued For Racial Discrimination Against Black People @baller alert FOXNEW Read More: www.balleralert.com Fox News Sued For Racial Discrimination Against Black People -blogged by @msjennyb - ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you ask the general public, FoxNews Network has a long history of bias, specifically conservative, news coverage. Over the years, the network has been called out and criticized by several big-name celebrities and political figures for their tendency to support the Republican Party and its conservative views. On the other hand, throughout Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and subsequent presidential-era, the celebrity-in-chief has praised the network for its positive outlook of his actions and presidency. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Despite a presidential co-sign, the network is in hot water for their prejudices. According to USA Today, Fox News is facing a lawsuit for racial discrimination against two black women. Both women were employees of the network, however, according to the suit, once the channel found out about the allegations, one woman was fired and the other was demoted. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ On Tuesday, Tichaona Brown and Tabrese Wright took their concerns to the Supreme Court by filing a lawsuit against the network, citing “years-long racial animus” from a former senior vice president and company controller named, Judith Slater, against “dark-skinned employees.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In the suit, the women say that Slater “ridiculed black employees by mocking stereotyped speech,” and forced them to enunciate their words “in front of white employees.” The suit said Slater believed the Black Lives Matter movement was racist, “and wondered what would happen if there was a parallel ‘White Lives Matter’ movement.” In addition, Slater reportedly inquired about Wright’s children, asking if they “were fathered by the same man.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “No longer willing to remain silent while Fox treated employees of color as second class citizens, Ms. Brown and Ms. Wright dared to speak out about the intolerable work environment, including their unequal pay and opportunities for advancement and ........to read the rest log on to BallerAlert.com (clickable link on profile) readmore logon
