 been purportedly commenting on elitism in art and income
 disparities when the piece itself sold for thousands of dollars
 to be put in a museum for rich people to look at. you're
 supposed to look at barren canvases with vague splotches of
 color and meditate on the nature of life, navelgazing for an
 hour. bitch I can do that in my own home for free. most of the
 time the pieces themselves don't require any skill, it's just an
 asshole with some bright idea thatno one has ever
 thought of before(which is bullshit, originality is a myth)
 and the gall to pretend that they re saying something
 meaningful. A bunch of postmodernists specialize in literal
 plagiarism but with a different title. wow so edgy. really
 thought provoking. you sure are making a statement that's
 care
 the most egregious example is this bullshit
 this is an overhead view of a plaza wherein some famous guy
 was commissioned to design a public art piece for. The brick
 and nonfunctional fountain was already there. The sculpture?
 a literal wall of iron bisecting the courtyard. this guy was paid
 over 100k to design this.
 Now, this is located in a city, smack dab in the middle of a
 bunch of office buildings. Workers who had to spend 8 hours
 a day 5 days a week doing menial desk jobs had to look at
 this ugly piece of shit. You want to have a nice picnic during
 lunch break with your work buddies? tough shit. You get tilted
 arc instead fucko. You can't see from one end of the courtyard
 to another because some dick thought rebar sheet metal was
 more important. It also impeded movement between the
 buildings so that you have to go around this fucking obstacle
 instead of just fucking walking from one side to the other
 So yeah, these workers got pissed, because you're making
 an ugly place even uglier for obscene amounts of money
 without thinking about the ppl who actually have to look at it
 every day (who had no say in the design). There have been
 countless studies done on stress and related health problems
 in office workers and having to look at ugly as sin shit like this
 piece of work actually contributes to stress and decreases
 mental and physical health (as opposed to pretty scenery or

 upon being told that people don't want this metal wall in their
 courtyard and that they want him to move it, freaks the FUCK
 out about how he "designed it just for this space and taking it
 out of its context would destroy it". Which like, yeah context is
 important when understanding the meaning of a piece. but
 iterally the only meaning of this piece was "i got paid obscene
 amounts of money and im gonna use it to make the ugliest
 thing i can think of literally just because. If you move it out of
 the context of the plaza it wouldn't be impeding foot traffic or
 being an eyesore to the workers who are forced to spend thein
 days there, which is destroying the purpose of the work. So in
 the end this guy opts to have the piece destroyed rather than
 moved because he can't stand to have hishigh art
 removed from its PurposeTM which is to be unpleasant. i dont

 substance. in the world we live in, pretty things for the sake of
 being pretty, having stories that are entertaining and engaging
 and relatable, having fun and feeling good in a world that

 issues. One obvious factor was trying to force political correctness on readers by replacing Peter Parker, Iron

<p>Also we’re supposed to believe someone as egotistical and self glorifying as Dr Doom would take on the identity of Iron Man?</p>

<p>It’s the same shit as Jane Foster as female Thor, with a healthy combination of plothole.</p>
<p>Somehow, a human woman who has not been involved with Thor in way, with a terminal disease that was ravaging her body, somehow ended up ON THE MOON without any protection and managed to pick up Mjolnr and was found Worthy by it after the fight where Thor ceased to be Worthy.</p>
<p>Like, you know, instead of Sif, a long time companion of Thor and who can pick up the hammer or Angela, who Marvel had then won a recent legal fight to be able to use….</p>
<p>People don’t dislike it because it’s “diversity”</p>
<p>They don’t like it because it’s weak, pandering writing that doesn’t stand up to internal logic.</p>
<p>Now, an example of this done right is when Sam Wilson, aka, the Falcon, became Captain America</p>

<p>See, at this point, Rogers got rapidly aged cause his super serum stopped working and he was an old man, so he couldn’t do it any more, but he was still around to give Sam advice and support over comms.</p>
<p>But of course, until Marvel actually bothers to learn why people aren’t buying their shit, they’re gonna keep making the same mistakes, as long as they’re insulated by the losses of the MCU and being used by Disney as a vanity press, they’ll never learn and lose more ground to DC and the indies</p>

<p>If your comic customers, as in the customers that go in and buy things, if they go “who’s this” and show you a comic, then they’re probably not gonna pick it up. They’re there to buy Spider-Man, Batman, Wolverine, X-Men, Avengers they can recognize, not fuckin Stardude or whatever odd new thing they’re gonna push is.</p>
<p>It’s nothing to do with race of sex of the characters concerned, but if they’ve got no brand recognition to support their solo titles, they’re gonna flounder.</p>

<p>What’s also more damaging than that is a flippant response to criticism or calling their readership racist assholes on twitter or whatever. That’s a really bad look for an industry professional when you’re not even an artist or a writer as someone essential to a comic book.</p>

<p>I’d like to know what exactly I said or did that indicated I think what I read and see on tumblr is true 100% of the time? It’s pretty much the exact opposite. You’re the one who dumbly suggested that war is something that white people brought like it wasn’t already alive and well. Groups fight other groups to gain power. This isn’t a new thing. It’s been happening all throughout history. It’s not some sort of special level oppression when a white group does it to a non-white group. The Saxons in the Normans were both white and they warred each other. Japan killed millions of people in Asia and you don’t see anybody talking about how the Japanese brought war, even though they most certainly did. It’s always white people. Honestly, it’s super egotistical of white people to think that they are so influential that every major catastrophe can be directly linked to them.</p></blockquote>

<p>There is little to no evidence to anybody purposely brought over smallpox. There’s a good chance it happened, since there’s two different groups with totally different immune systems, but it’s pure speculation to say that it was some sort of chemical warfare. And the numbers of natives were so low at that point that it can hardly be blamed on the vast majority of their deaths.  You have no evidence outside of your own feelings.
