Their web browser is faster tf . What’s the name of the browser? Two teen brothers build mobile web browser on May 28, 2015  /   in Education, News 9:15 am   /   Comments By Dayo Adesulu The duo of Osine Ikhianosime and Anesi Ikhianosime have rekindled hope in the future of nigeria as they entered their names in the catalogue of application developers when they built a mobile web browser that is already in use globally. Osine Ikhianosime 13, and Anesi Ikhianosime 15 who co-developed ‘Crocodile Browser Lite’ were born of same parents and both are Year nine and 11 students of Greensprings School, Anthony Campus, Lagos. While both brothers write code, Anesi designs the user interface. Osine Ikhianosine and Anesi Ikhianosime Osine and Anesi launched the mobile browser on the Mobango app store before moving to Google Play Store to try and reach a wider audience. As you read this piece, the browser currently has around 100 to 500 downloads and they do not have ads in the app yet. They both began developing an Android web browser, which they named Crocodile Browser Lite, about a year ago out of boredom. Due to their strong interest  in technology, they decided to create a functional, fast browser for feature and low end phones because, according to them, “We were fed up with Google Chrome.” Osine who told TechCabal in his pitch mail said: ‘’I write the code, my brother designs it.” Born April 28, 2001, his interest in computers began at age seven. It was also at this age that he and his brother, Anesi Ikhianosime, who was 9 at the time, came up with the idea of starting a company. Recalling how it started, Osine said, they first named it ‘Doors’ with Microsoft’s Windows, but when they discovered that the name was already in use, they had to change the name to BluDoors. Relating his experience, Osine said: ‘’When we decided to learn to code at age 12 and 14 respectively, I didn’t let my uncle’s belief that it would be a tough feat to achieve deter me.” On his part, Anesi said: “I learnt to code by myself. I started in 2013, I used sites like Code Academy, Code Avengers and books like ‘Android for Game Development’ and ‘Games for Dummies’,” said Anesi. Meanwhile their mother, Mrs Ngozi Ikhianosime, who is a Mathematics teacher said: “Osine could already use a PC before he could read at age three. It is all he does since he learnt to code.” The mother who ascribed the success to Greensprings Schools, said students of the school have access to computer and internet facilities, just as personal laptops are made available to each of them at home. “After Anesi is through with his secondary school education, he will attend A levels, after which he will go to MIT in Boston for his first degree, because the university has the facilities he needs to learn.” She said. Their father Mr Philip Ikhianosime, who is the Head of Management Services and Human Resource Manager at an Insurance Company says the boys developed interest in PC usage very early. He agrees as well, that his children’s school is very instrumental in their continued interest in programming. Anesi says that he’d like to develop another app that solves real social problems, such as traffic and communication. The brothers are releasing a new version of Crocodile Browser Lite 3.0 this April. - See more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/05/two-teen-brothers-build-mobile-web-browser/#sthash.ZF2vj1zZ.dpuf NubianBrothaz Boost the eff outta this Salute to those young brothas. We’ll figure out how later on.” I guess we don’t want to talk about this part but part of the reason that classroom is as diverse as it is is that all the White people pulled their kids out of such schools long ago. In fact white people will run to a whole new zip code as soon as the neighborhood starts to diversify. It’s called White Flight, and while I don’t know how often that happened in Canada, in the US it is very well documented how much White people have always hated diversity, and ran away from it at every opportunity. It’s not genocide if the reason that classroom is Brown is because all the White People ran away! YUP. An organization in my city (which is 55% Black in the city proper) recently analyzed the racial data of the public schools, and found that the whitest schools are about 70% white with a Black population of about 7% on average (the other +/- 23% is predominantly Asian in those schools, with Latino numbers close to the Black numbers). Some look at that data and say, well, 70% white reflects the population! But it doesn’t. Not when you consider that a full 50% of white kids in the metro area (when you include the suburbs, it’s about 65% white) are not in the public school system. So, if 50% of white kids are not in the public school system, an integrated school would have about 30% white kids, not 70%. Schools with 30% white kids and 70% black, Latino and Asian kids are considered “bad” schools, regardless of facilities, teachers, and achievements. When you factor in the fact that nearly all of those white kids are working class or poor, these are considered straight up Black schools, no different from schools that are 90% Black. No one wants to say it, but the undesirability of these schools – schools that, today, have things like Innovation centers, engineering labs, pro level TV studios, robotics labs, commercial kitchens and even working farms, things that many private and predominantly white charters don’t have – is painfully clear. It’s not about facilities or programs. The most innovative schools in the city serve majority minority student bodies. Even objectively good schools, if they serve students that are Black, ESL, IDD, and low income, are not fit for middle class to wealthy white kids according to their parents. And I live in a very Blue state. I know very “liberal” parents who wouldn’t dream of sending their kids to a non-charter or non white segregated public school. It’s not “genocide.” Far from it. It’s voluntary white segregation.

80s, America, and Children: Ronald Reagan / Died June 5, 2004, Bel-Air, Los Angeles, CA sauvamente: lkeke35: sugarbrownbabydoll: marginalised: cflat-major: louisthesixteenth: its a national holiday Celebrating someone’s death seems like a really macabre thing to do. Like I get that people don’t like him because of how his administration dealt with the AIDS epidemic, but promoting someone’s death as a good thing doesn’t sit well with me. during his administration, we had a problem with abuse of patients in mental healthcare facilities (asylums, but don’t call them that), and his response to it was just to shut down the entire system. he closed all public mental healthcare facilities because a few of them were mistreating patients, and all those mentally ill people suddenly found themselves homeless without the skills necessary to survive in the general populous. he’s the reason why our healthcare system is so terrible, and he’s to blame for the homelessness epidemic (i’ll get into the next reason why he’s responsible for our high homeless population in a sec). millions of people lost everything because of reagan. thousands died. he also completely restructured our economy. from 1776 until he became president, we had an economic system like no other (look up the American School), but he removed most of the rules and regulations we had to keep the system in place because our system at the time limited accumulation of wealth. we had a built-in buffer that kept most people middle class. when he restructured our economy so he and his friends could get richer, reagan removed the safeguards that kept us out of poverty (most of the time), so now the lower echelons of society were in freefall towards homelessness. people lost their homes and businesses because the rich could do basically whatever they wanted now. superstores like wal-mart rose to prominence and pushed out small businesses because of this. our government also greatly reduced its expenditure on infrastructure. ronald reagan’s greed is why we don’t have enough trains and all our roads are falling apart. he also expanded our already bloated military while in power. one of his slogans was “peace in strength.” his goal for our country was to get an iron grip around the rest of the world and impose our own agendas on other countries at gunpoint. One of the first things reagan did when he came to power was to ignore the supreme court’s earlier ruling, ignore the constitution, and try to enforce a mandatory daily christian prayer time in all schools. when government workers went on strike against him and his policies, he fired 11,345 people. he put 11,345 people out of a job because they didn’t like him. he lowered taxes for the rich, but increased taxes on the poor, contributing to the aforementioned lack of infrastructure and homelessness crisis. he also began privatising the government, which put thousands of jobs at risk and made wealthy capitalists the men who run our country. reagan is responsible for trickle down economics. after the great depression, our government put in social programs to help people stay afloat, like universal healthcare for the elderly and disabled, basic income (the government paid people to dig ditches if they couldn’t find any other jobs. the ditches didn’t serve any purpose, but those people needed money and the government was willing to give money to anyone who worked), and food stamps. ronald reagan slashed all these programs and more, like the EPA, which made sure we were a “green” country. as a result of these slashes, people who had been secure on government assistance programs were now having to take out loans and get into debt, which jeopardised our economy. we had a stock market crash because people were becoming too poor to buy stocks, and our national debt increased by 3 times. we went from $997 billion in debt to $2.85 trillion in 1987. he also pushed us further into the cold war. previously, our relations with russia were cooling down a bit, but during reagan’s second term, he began actively threatening russia again. ronald reagan brought us to the brink of a nuclear war that would have killed all humans on earth. Ronald Reagan and Maggie Thatcher, the most hated prime minister in UK history, were close friends. he was also personal friends with Donald Trump. Under reagan, we resumed a history of violent military imperialism in foreign countries, most notably lebanon, afghanistan, and pakistan. In lebanon, we tried to stop a revolution against an oppressive regime, and in afghanistan and pakistan, reagan ordered the CIA to train civilians and create a military force to fight russia for us. Reagan created the taliban, a militant group that even today publicly dismembers people for playing games in public. they cut off children’s hands. He also began dealing weapons with China, betraying our longstanding ally, Taiwan, destabilising politics in the pacific. Under his orders, we secretly aided african and south american military dictatorships in crushing their opposition. He assisted Ayatollah Khomeini, the leader of Iran who started the 1979 revolution, in purging political opposition from the government. in 1988 our military shot down an iranian commercial flight, killing 290 civilians. Reagan was a Nazi sympathiser and referred to slain SS officers as “victims” of the war. just to make sure you read that right: Ronald Reagan supported the Nazis. He declared the war on drugs, a movement that has greatly increased the disproportionate incarceration rates of african american and latino men in this country. During Reagan’s second term, 115,000 people were diagnosed with AIDS and 70,000 died of it. Reagan did nothing to curb the spread, despite knowing that the AIDS epidemic almost exclusively affected black people and the LGBT community. when he learned how many people were dying and who they were, he laughed. he laughed at our suffering while we were dropping dead. In short, Ronald Reagan was a wealthy, selfish, greedy, capitalistic, imperialist, racist, ableist, homophobic, genocidal, antisemitic, warmongering, backstabbing murderer. Ronald Reagan was a monster. Wow and this didn’t even cover the crack epidemic It doesn’t cover the crack epidemic, or the various wars in South America, that resulted in the refugees immigrant crisis now. There’s a book called as the band played on about the AIDS crisis in the 80s and early 90s and how the conservative movement and Reagan basically steamrolled over AIDS activists. They basically denied that aids even existed for years before they even acknowledged it. the only reason they acknowledged it was because it started to affect heterosexual people and children. before that it was just a dreaded gay disease. Ronald Reagan was the devil and we are lucky that he is dead, but we are still suffering from his policies, rampant conservatism and his being anti anyone that wasn’t a straight white male.

America, Community, and Future: SUMNER AP/SHUTTERSTOCK Linda Brown, Whose Brown v. Board of Education Case Ended Segregation in Schools, Dies Rest in Power, LindaBrown! 💓✊🏾🙇🏾‍♀️ • • • Linda Brown Thompson, who as a young girl was the student at the center of the landmark Supreme Court case Brown v. Board of Education that declared school segregation unconstitutional, has died in Topeka, Kansas. She was 76. The Peaceful Rest Funeral Chapel in Topeka confirmed it is handling funeral arrangements for Brown. Born in 1943, Brown was in third grade in 1950 when she was denied admission to an all-white elementary school in her hometown of Topeka. She lived 20 blocks from her segregated school, but just five blocks from the all-white school. Kansas schools at the time were segregated by state law. Brown's father, Rev. Oliver Brown, sued the school district in 1951. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) took up the case, which was combined with segregation suits against school districts in other states when it came before the Supreme Court. Future Supreme Court justice ThurgoodMarshall was the lead attorney for the NAACP. In a unanimous ruling in 1954, the court declared school segregation an unconstitutional violation of the 14th Amendment's guarantee of equal protection under the law. The ruling, written by Chief Justice Earl Warren, struck down the "separate but equal" doctrine that had served as the basis for segregation of public facilities since the 1896 case Plessy v. Ferguson. "Sixty-four years ago a young girl from Topeka brought a case that ended segregation in public schools in America," Kansas Gov. Jeff Colyer told the Topeka Capital-Journal. "Linda Brown's life reminds us that sometimes the most unlikely people can have an incredible impact and that by serving our community we can truly change the world." lindabrown brownvsboardofeducation education

BUSINESS INSIDER jadelyn: chronic-illness-cat: titleknown: hueva-york: la-bufadora: businessinsider: Infographic: 7 Reasons This Is An Excellent Resume For Someone With No Experience yoooo what i need by tomorrow AAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU Reblogging because I WISH I HAD FUCKING KNOWN ABOUT THIS IN HIGH SCHOOL YEARS AGO! Dear sick Kitties, Please save this to your computer because one day you might be well enough to work in some capacity and it’s unfair for you to have blank spots on your resume/CV. You have worth and validity even if you don’t have a huge work history. YOU have value. This is mostly really good, but I have a couple minor disagreements.  So…here are three recommendations from an HR person who reads a shitton of resumes every day: Move the skills section up to the top!  You know what I give a fuck about the most when I’m reading a resume (at least for entry-level positions)?  WHAT YOU CAN DO.  I frankly don’t give a shit where you learned it.  Tell me what you’re capable of in concrete terms, organized in a bullet-points list or table that I can quickly scan to see if you even stand a chance of matching what we need, because that is all I’m doing in those critical first couple of seconds that decides whether I even bother looking at the rest of the resume.  (Which I get sounds kinda callous but when I have to get through a couple dozen resumes, meaning download, open, read, decide what to do, forward it to the appropriate person if it makes the cut with my comments/summary/recommendations, file it appropriately and go on to the next one, and get back to my other duties and responsibilities - which I don’t have enough hours in the day for as it is - I can’t afford to depth-read every single resume that hits my inbox.) Include volunteer experience as work experience if you have any.  Running the concession stand at a high school club event of some kind counts as cash handling and customer service experience.  Making blog themes for your friends counts as web design experience.  Just because you weren’t getting paid doesn’t mean it wasn’t work experience you can potentially leverage to get actual paying work. Rework that top statement - in its current form it’s looking like some odd hybrid of an executive summary (good!) and an objective statement (bad!), and I’m not sure how I feel about it tbh.  I think it’s the “leveraging…to positively contribute” bit that is pushing all my “ugh no fucking shit sherlock” buttons.  Like…what were you going to say, that you want to skate along doing the bare minimum amount of work and you don’t give a shit about the organization’s goals?  I see way too many regurgitated statements like that - “positively contribute” and “maximize success” and “utilize my skills to further goals” etc. - and they just make my eyes roll out of my head at this point because they’re so generically corporate.  I’d rather see a declarative statement about what you are and what you can do, than what you want. However, huge massive bonus points for putting language fluency right there at the top where I don’t have to go hunting for it - language skills are ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS A PLUS and you want to highlight that shit as hard as you can.  Shove that language fluency in my fucking face, PLEASE.  Better that than having to scour your work history for mention of translation or anything like that, which I will only do if I’m A: already liking your qualifications so far, and B: totally fucking desperate for someone who speaks goddamn Spanish already.

Crazy, Hello, and Scare: Blue Bell ICE CREAM SO DELICIOUS THAT WE KILLED PEOPLE AND YOU DON'T EVEN CARE shaudo: amerigoilluminatusx: officialfist: amerigoilluminatusx: What??? 3 people died and 7 became ill after eating blue bell due to the bacteria listeria being found in several machines. Most people’s immune systems shrugged it off but people with compromised immune systems (birth defects or diseases such as HIV) could become seriously ill or in this case die as a result of it. Damn, that’s crazy that it happened, I’m glad I know not to buy them now. @amerigoilluminatusx Hello! Texas native, here with more information that you should have the opportunity to know. The second it became clear that Blue Bell was the source, they voluntarily shut down their facilities and recalled EVERYTHING they currently had on the market, around 8 million gallons of ice cream. They tested, disassembled and thoroughly sterilized, then retested their manufacturing equipment. At least one major piece of equipment was thrown away, presumably because they couldn’t guarantee it was safe. They tracked down the source of the “outbreak” and submitted a root cause analysis (with some info redacted here) to the FDA. And then they slowly started manufacturing again, releasing a few flavors at a time, testing each shipment before sending them out. This happened over a year ago. They’re still recovering. They threw away MILLIONS OF DOLLARS to keep people safe instead of, you know, trying to keep everything under wraps. (Honestly the tagline here should be “We Scare Because We Care” or somethin.) Blue Bell is a fricken solid and honest company. So, yeah, enjoy your ice cream! ALL OF BLUE BELL IS DOING EVERYTHING PHYSICALLY POSSIBLE TO KEEP IT SAFE AND DELICIOUS. That is all.

Abc, Children, and Church: Maryland Church May Shut Down After City Fines Them $12K for Helping the Homeless Posted by Jay Syrmopoulos ca Patapsco FREETHOUGHTPROJECT Dundalk, MD The Patapsco United Methodist Church faces a fine of $12,000 for offering a safe haven for the homeless after a disgruntled neighbor decided that the church's helping hand to the homeless was hurting his business <p><a href="https://libertybill.tumblr.com/post/154428453172/afpe-from" class="tumblr_blog">libertybill</a>:</p><blockquote> <p><a href="http://theun--sj.tumblr.com/post/154428376848/from" class="tumblr_blog">theun–sj</a>:</p> <blockquote> <p><a href="http://afpe.tumblr.com/post/154425493019/from" class="tumblr_blog">afpe</a>:</p> <blockquote>From: <a href="http://www.dcclothesline.com/2016/12/07/maryland-church-may-shut-down-after-city-fines-them-12k-for-helping-the-homeless/">http://www.dcclothesline.com/2016/12/07/maryland-church-may-shut-down-after-city-fines-them-12k-for-helping-the-homeless/</a> <p> ““I showed up Wednesday morning to find a citation on the door that said we’re going to be fined $12,000 and have a court date because we have unhoused homeless people sleeping outside the church at night,” Reverend Katie Grover of the Patapsco United Methodist Church told ABC 2. </p> <p> The church has a court date scheduled for December 21 for the code violation, which entails homeless men, women and children sleeping outside the church doors because they feel safe there and have nowhere else to go. </p> <p> The a citation received by the church was for operating a “non-permitted rooming and boarding house,” but Grover pushed back against that notion stating, “They’re not paying me rent or paying us rent to board here, so I don’t know how that is defined.” </p> <p> After speaking with the code enforcement office, Reverend Grover said that if the church complies then the fine would be dismissed. If the church is forced to pay the fine there is a good chance they would no longer be able to continue a program to feed the poor – with a chance the church may need to shut down altogether. </p> <p> Grover was clear that she feels it’s the church’s duty to be a safe haven for all people. </p> <p> “We feel we here as a church that it’s scriptural mandate that’s it an imperative to care for the least, the last, the lost, the poor, the hungry,” she said. </p> <p> But Chester Bartko, owner of a produce stand next door, says the church’s actions are hurting his business. </p> <p> “We have a greenhouse and we sell flowers and shrubbery, and the homeless started camping right next to our retail sales area,” says Bartko. </p> <p> He alleges that the homeless killed one of his trees, by urinating on it, so he called the county to complain. </p> <p> “They dump gallons of urine on it,” Bartko said. </p> <p> “I want them moved out of here,” he continued. “The county and state has facilities for homeless people. They shouldn’t be here living like this.” </p> <p> And while Bartko is right that people shouldn’t be living like this, his actions do nothing to alleviate the problem and only serve to exacerbate an already tenuous situation for those living on the street — by relying on state force.” Honestly, I could post the entire article because it just gets worse and worse but instead you should go read it. </p> <p> Frankly, I’m disgusted that the only time the state desides to step in to stuff churches are doing are when they’re actually doing something GOOD. </p> <p> Phone Number To The Church (perhaps you can ask them how to donate to them to help fight their case and even provide proper lodging for the homeless) (410)-288-5488 </p> <p> City Council: (410)-396-4804 </p> <p> I attempted to find the phone number Chester Bartko and his business, but I only found his personal information (home address and stuff) so I can’t give you any of that but if anyone has the ability to go on google maps, find his stand next to the church, thus being able to find the name and being able to find the phone number, please add it onto this post if you do. </p> <p> This isn’t ok. </p> </blockquote> But without government, who will destroy churches for helping the poor eh, <a class="tumblelog" href="https://tmblr.co/mIiX85InXZ_5gFO1XlH6zKA">@libertybill</a> </blockquote> <p>Giving shelter to the homeless? We can’t have that kind of unbridled free market activity? <br/></p> </blockquote>

Advice, Being Alone, and Anaconda: THE MISLEADING NARRATIVE The Reality ALL "sacred" sites were identified and the pipeline was rerouted to avoid them. US Uncut shared Al Jazeera English's video. Yesterday at 10:36 AM A U.S. District Court confirmed Al Jazeera English uday at 11:30 AM. the tribe had failed to prove any of its claims. A battle is underway between native Americans and oil companies. Here's what you need to know. The tribe was offered ample time to consult with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, but refused, instead opting "to boycott the entire process." There's ALREADY an existing pipeline on the same land, parallel to the new one. The DAPL's path is on privately owned land, NOT THE SIOUX RESERVATION, and 100% of the ND land owners signed contracts allowing the pipe-line to be built. THE LEFT WANTS YOU TO BUY INTO THEIRVICTIMHOOD NARRATIVE andiPipeline Maps (ConfirmTheSiouxiribe Is NOT Being Harmed By The DAPL! -- WAC <p><a href="http://flyingattreelevel.tumblr.com/post/153966415254/gop-tea-pub-the-misleading-claim-native" class="tumblr_blog">flyingattreelevel</a>:</p><blockquote> <p><a class="tumblr_blog" href="http://gop-tea-pub.tumblr.com/post/152604025097">gop-tea-pub</a>:</p> <blockquote> <p> THE MISLEADING CLAIM: “Native Americans are again being screwed over by the U.S., as the Dakota Access Pipeline encroaches on ‘sacred land’ belonging to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, absent consent.”<br/><br/> THE REALITY: “Court documents, official land surveys, and pipeline maps, confirm this is almost entirely false.”<br/><br/> Let’s begin with the notion of “sacred land”. Extensive cultural &amp; land surveys were conducted in North Dakota before the pipeline received approval. It marked some land as “sacred.” The pipeline plans were then redrafted as to avoid ALL “sacred” pieces of land. [a] This isn’t just conservative-media opinion, either, it’s confirmed in the U.S. District Court memorandum, stating:<br/><br/> “Where this surveying revealed …historic or cultural resources that might be affected, the company mostly chose to reroute. In North Dakota, for example, the cultural surveys found 149 potentially eligible sites, 91 of which had stone features (considered sacred). The pipeline workspace and route was modified to avoid ALL 91 of these stone features and all but 9 of the other potentially eligible sites. By the time the company finally settled on a construction path, …the pipeline route had been modified 140 times in North Dakota alone to avoid potential cultural resources. Plans had also been put in place to mitigate any effects on the other 9 sites through coordination with the North Dakota SHPO.” [b]<br/>  <br/> Those modifications convinced the U.S. District Court to rule against the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, citing the tribe’s inability to show how the pipeline would damage the group’s sacred ground. From the court document itself, it states,  “if a party makes no showing of irreparable injury, the court may deny the motion… It follows, then, that the Court may deny a motion for preliminary injunction, without further inquiry, upon finding that a plaintiff is unable to show either irreparable injury&quot; [b] “The Tribe has not met its burden to show that DAPL-related work is likely to cause damage.” [b]<br/><br/> In addition to providing no substantive evidence to support their case, the Standing Rock Sioux tribe was offered ample time to consult with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, but refused, instead opting “to boycott the entire consulting process.” [a] This petulance was again confirmed by the court’s review, which showed that, as the Army Corps of Engineers attempted more than a dozen times between 2014 and 2016 to discuss the DAPL route with the Standing Rock, “the tribe either failed to respond to requests for consultation or dragged its feet during the process.” [c] It’s also noteworthy that the company building the pipeline - Energy Transfer Partners - had only originally moved the project near the Standing Rock reservation in the first place because doing so was considered “less impactful on the environment, according to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.” [d] So any assumption that the company hadn’t gone out of its way to seek consultation and alter its plans in consideration of the environment is absolutely false. <br/><br/> Now that we’ve established that the tribe failed to substantiate its complaints, let’s add this somewhat surprising revelation; THERE’S ALREADY AN EXISTING FUEL PIPELINE IN PLACE, UNDER THE SAME GROUND, WITH NO COMPLAINTS. This - again - was exposed in the court’s review and can be confirmed for yourself via utility pipeline maps. “The area around the permitted activity has been subject to previous surveying for other utility projects. DAPL likewise will run parallel, at a distance of 22 to 300 feet, to an ALREADY-EXISTING natural-gas pipeline under the lake. Dakota Access will also use the less-invasive HDD method to run the pipeline, which will require less disturbance to the land around the drilling and bury the pipeline at a depth that is unlikely to damage cultural resources. [b] One can see this for themselves by viewing side by side maps, one showing the existing pipelines, and the other showing the planned route for the new pipeline. They mirror each other. [f]<br/><br/> Lastly is the issue of land ownership and the presumption that the pipeline encroaches on North Dakotan land owned by indigenous tribes. Wrong again. The truth is, the Dakota Access Pipeline traverses a path on PRIVATE PROPERTY and does not cross into the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe’s reservation. Literally 100% of affected landowners in North Dakota VOLUNTARILY signed contracts allowing for construction of the pipeline on their property. [g] They were offered a good deal and they took it. The Native American reservation is merely adjacent to affected property, it is not the ACTUAL affected property. <br/><br/> One might ask, “but what if neighboring the reservation still puts it in danger?” Here, too, research suggests otherwise. Per a 2015 Fraser Institute Research Report entitled “Safety in the Transportation of Oil and Gas,” transporting oil and gas by pipeline is actually the safest method. Matter of fact, fuel transported via rail is found to be “over 4.5 times more likely to experience an occurrence” than via pipeline. [e] Additionally, “over 70 percent of pipeline occurrences result in spills of ONLY 1 cubic meter, and only 17 percent of pipeline occurrences take place in the actual pipeline.” [e] The vast majority of spills actually occur inside facilities [e], meaning it’s VERY unlikely that anything substantial will leak from the new pipeline.  <br/><br/> CONCLUSION:<br/> Essentially, the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe is complaining that private owners sold the rights to place a fuel pipeline on land that the Tribe does not own, in a way that mirrors existing pipelines, as to transport fuel in the safest and cheapest manner, with designs evolving from countless consultation efforts and professional advice on how to be as environmentally friendly as possible, while specifically redesigning the route an additional 140 times as to avoid offending the tribe, all while the tribe was largely boycotting the consultation efforts and failing to substantiate its complaints in court. What’s happening now, therefore, is nothing more than the political left latching onto the latest controversy as to perpetuate their endless narrative of victimhood.<br/> —————<br/> Sources:<br/> [a]<br/><a href="http://dailycaller.com/2016/10/30/anti-frackers-keep-falsely-suggesting-dapl-desecrated-tribal-lands/">http://dailycaller.com/2016/10/30/anti-frackers-keep-falsely-suggesting-dapl-desecrated-tribal-lands/</a><br/><br/> [b]<br/><a href="http://mwalliancenow.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Document-39.pdf">http://mwalliancenow.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Document-39.pdf</a><br/><br/> [c]<br/><a href="http://dailycaller.com/2016/09/17/the-govt-actually-tried-several-times-to-consult-north-dakota-tribe-about-pipeline/">http://dailycaller.com/2016/09/17/the-govt-actually-tried-several-times-to-consult-north-dakota-tribe-about-pipeline/</a><br/><br/> [d]<br/><a href="http://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.reuters.com%2Farticle%2Fus-usa-pipeline-nativeamericans-reroute-idUSKCN11P09K&amp;h=xAQFlYMCu&amp;enc=AZOESF3Bg81XcyZz2Sphg3DZszf_METV6wUxd4-d7xsv-Fmoroch6-xBn30qnuShFF8ou7-jTjj9O1lnTV9nQMr9CIKUKPlRMcSf6fLPh5ysvblDR1SsqIBemgX8VEBCrDkjGOJBxMU_KG6m3utrXn7h3cZR3PwfgLKGqXy12vdJ3CzrZPZL2TXbaLQUZC1PEQE&amp;s=1">http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-pipeline-nativeamericans-reroute-idUSKCN11P09K</a><br/><br/> [e]<br/><a href="https://www.fraserinstitute.org/sites/default/files/safety-in-the-transportation-of-oil-and-gas-pipelines-or-rail-rev2.pdf">https://www.fraserinstitute.org/sites/default/files/safety-in-the-transportation-of-oil-and-gas-pipelines-or-rail-rev2.pdf</a><br/><br/> [f]<br/><a href="https://www.sayanythingblog.com/entry/dakota-access-pipeline-follows-existing-gas-line-protest-area/">https://www.sayanythingblog.com/entry/dakota-access-pipeline-follows-existing-gas-line-protest-area/</a><br/>  <br/> [g]<br/><a href="https://mwalliancenow.org/blog/dakota-access-easements-95-percent/">https://mwalliancenow.org/blog/dakota-access-easements-95-percent/</a> <br/></p> </blockquote> <p>I enjoy factual information, thank you.</p> </blockquote>

The keynote speaker was Mother Teresa. Before President and First Lady Clinton, Mother Teresa spoke about the cultural corruption that arises out of crimes against the unborn. The article found here👉🏼👉🏼👉🏼www.crisismagazine.com/2016/marching-for-life-mother-teresa-and-mrs-clinton Mother Teresa was such fucking trash.-V That is so untrue. I disagree with Teresa about Abortion, but she wasn’t trash at all. Let’s play a fun game called “everything you know about Mother Teresa is shit.”She baptized Hindu and Muslim people on their death beds, regardless of their wishes. She supported Haitian dictator Jean-Claude Duvalier and his family, who ran Haiti as a police state, who she said “loved their poor” even when he had stolen tens of millions of dollars from them. She was friends with Charles Keating, a Catholic fundamentalist who was convicted of fraud, racketeering and conspiracy for his involvement in a scam where customers were deceived into buying worthless junk bonds, resulting in many of them losing their life savings. Even though she renounced money, Keating donated $1.25 million to her in the 80′s, and she wrote a letter to the court on his behalf asking for clemency. The prosecuting attorney wrote her back, encouraging her to return the money as it was stolen, but she never replied. When the International Health Organization honoured Teresa in 1989, she spoke at length against abortion and contraception and called AIDS a “just retribution for improper sexual conduct”. Similarly, when Teresa was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979, she proclaimed in her acceptance speech that abortion was the greatest threat to peace in the world. In 1992, she appeared at an open-air Mass in Ireland and said, “Let us promise Our Lady who loves Ireland so much that we will never allow in this country a single abortion. And no contraceptives.” She also campaigned in Ireland to oppose the successful 1995 referendum to legalize divorce in that predominantly Catholic country.Only 7% of the funds donated to her went to her were used for charity. The rest were funnelled into secret bank accounts or used to build more missions. There are reports of unruly children being strapped to beds and being beaten. Outdated equipment was not replaced. Needles were reused, even in areas with high HIV transmission rates like Haiti, until they were so blunt that they caused pain. Many sisters and volunteers at her Home for Dying Destitutes in Calcutta had no medical training and were required to make important patient care decisions due to the lack of doctors. Her order did not distinguish between curable and incurable patients, meaning that people who could otherwise survive were at risk of dying from infections and a lack of treatment. Some facilities lacked strong analgesics, and needles were rinsed in warm water, leaving them inadequately sterilised. Patients with tuberculosis were not quarantined. Some missions wouldn’t buy food for the people who needed their help, relying instead solely on donated food. The first home that she set up had a mortality rate of 40%.The motivations of her charity work are questionable. None of the eight facilities run by the Missionaries of Charity in Papua New Guinea have any residents in them, and are solely there for the purpose of converting local people to Catholicism. At a 1981 press conference, she was asked: “Do you teach the poor to endure their lot?” She replied, “I think it is very beautiful for the poor to accept their lot, to share it with the passion of Christ. I think the world is being much helped by the suffering of the poor people.”In 2013, in a comprehensive review covering 96% of the literature on Mother Teresa, a group of Université de Montréal academics reinforced the foregoing criticism, detailing, among other issues, the missionary’s practice of “caring for the sick by glorifying their suffering instead of relieving it, … her questionable political contacts, her suspicious management of the enormous sums of money she received, and her overly dogmatic views regarding, in particular, abortion, contraception, and divorce”. Questioning the Vatican’s motivations for ignoring the mass of criticism, the study concluded that Mother Teresa’s “hallowed image—which does not stand up to analysis of the facts—was constructed, and that her beatification was orchestrated by an effective media relations campaign engineered by the anti-abortion BBC journalist Malcolm Muggeridge.Historian Vijay Prashad wrote, “Mother Teresa is the quintessential image of the white woman in the colonies, working to save the dark bodies from their own temptations and failures. […] The Euro-American-dominated international media continue to harbor the colonial notion that white peoples are somehow especially endowed with the capacity to create social change. When nonwhite people labor in this direction, the media typically search for white benefactors or teachers, or else, for white people who stand in the wings to direct the nonwhite actors. Dark bodies cannot act of their own volition to stretch their own capacity, for they must wait, the media seem to imply, for some colonial administrator, some technocrat from IBM or the IMF to tell them how to do things. When it comes to saving the poor, the dark bodies are again invisible, for the media seem to celebrate only the worn out platitudes of such as Mother Teresa and ignore the struggles of those bodies for their own liberation. To open the life of someone like Mother Teresa to scrutiny, therefore, is always difficult. […] Mother Teresa’s work was part of a global enterprise for the alleviation of bourgeois guilt, rather than a genuine challenge to those forces that produce and maintain poverty.”So yeah, sorry. I’m going to call trash trash when I see it.-V Reblogging in case anyone wants to read about what Mother Teresa really did.-V Drag that prune! And lmao @ Catholics for making her a saint lmao omg

Advice, Cats, and Clothes: From This Angle ANOVAN Not Just Kitten By ANNE WELSH After years spent in silence, I gather courage to speak out on one petty, relatively insignifieant aspect of campus fe that really irks me: the existence and attire of the mascot known as the Wild Kitten Women have been at Villanova now for over twenty ears. We have studied, partied, cheated, cheered with the best of Villanova's men. We did not complain about the urinals in Dougherty's ladies room, and the pain and suf fering endured trying to get the one and only facility for men in Tolentine. We put up with our business teacher ying we kept him from telling the many hilarious sexual anecdotes which he probably never had. We have made do with the poor share of athletic. funds and facilities that women's sports receive But asking us to continue to accept the Wild Kitten as the representative of women at Villanova is asking too much First of all, a female wildcat is not a wild kitten. This grammatical distinction has obviously escaped many people; the fact that kittens are much cuter than cats ap parently induces people who think of girls as a cuter (and weaker) version of boys to make this elementary mistake But when all is fed and done, kittens are merely young cats of either sex Second, female wildcats do not wear skirts. (This may surprise some who still separate the human sexes by the design of their clothes) Further, female wildcats do not sport black pantyhos either with or without garters. Neither do they normally stalk their prey decked out in a pair of high black boots Perhaps the slinky seductiveness of this curious Cen taur-in-reverse (head of an animal, legs of a girl) is sup posed to excite and upset the players on the other team. Perhaps the kitten kicking her boots and twirling her tail like a gentle whip is needed to psyche our fans into a ๒ frenzy. Perhaps the girl inside the suit (who actually is very good and very spirited) needs a free ticket to the games None of these reasons is quite up to seratch. Let's face it, the Wild Kitten is not only blatantly sexist, but just plain weird. Until we Wild Kittens?", we should just have one kind of mascot, the Wildcat, to represent all the Villanova fans. And let the fur fly where it will. e ready to start cheering 'Let's advice-animal: My mom wrote a hot take in 1974 about her college’s sexist mascot that’s depressingly still funny today.
