@Regrann from @total_nutrition_greenway - Oh wow eye opening for most of you thinking you're doing better by eating these hope you learned something from this today Repost @caloriefixes ・・・ Potato Chips VS. Sweet Potato Chips πŸ₯”πŸ  caloriefixes The plan wasn't to eat 100g of Sweet Potato chips but, it kinda happened.. by snaccidentπŸ™Š "Snaccident" (n). Eating an entire pizza-family sized bag of crisps by mistake - actual Google definitionπŸ™ˆ β € OK, so SP Crisps are good - it was my first time having them as previously I've only tried the vegetable crisps which are "OK" but I find they have a weird taste tbh. β € Sweet potato crisps are moreish and delicious (as I learnt todayπŸ’πŸ»). However, as I looked at the calories and macros (100g for each shown), I couldn't help but think that actually, 'normal' crisps would of been pretty much similar (and for some BETTER macros). β € This post isn't saying eat this or that; it's a look at the differences between the two - which may be surprising for some of us (including me πŸ™‹πŸ»who only checked the macros 500 calories laterπŸ˜‚). β € Some of us would definitely think, "I will go for the SP chips- it IS sweet potato, after all so it must be alright". But, I would say when it comes to snacks like crisps or chips you can't really rely on them to get your 5-a-day. The benefits for choosing one of these fried foods or the other is going to be pretty low. Sure there are some nutritional differences with Potatoes having more Vitamin B6 and SP having more Vitamin A and a better GI value.. but, I personally don't rely on snacks like this for my daily nutrients! Who does! β € Choose what you ENJOY and always just remember that sometimes these billion pound marketing budgets make Sweet Potato crisps or Starbucks Green Tea Frappuccino seem way healthier than they actually areπŸ™πŸΌ πŸ₯”πŸ  @caloriefixes healthyfood healthylifestyle healthy slimmingworld beforeandafter fitnessjourney weightlossjourney balance vegan plantbased bbg transformation veganfoodshare potato chips eatclean diet glutenfree fitness foodie nutrition iifym weightloss fitfam flexibledieting foodporn workout exercise: POTATO CHIPS SWEET POTATO CHIPS 510 CALORIES 530 CALORIES @caloriefixes PROTEIN: 6g CARBS: 49g FAT: 30g SUGAR: 0.5g 4g CARBS: 48g FAT: 34g SUGAR: 16g @Regrann from @total_nutrition_greenway - Oh wow eye opening for most of you thinking you're doing better by eating these hope you learned something from this today Repost @caloriefixes ・・・ Potato Chips VS. A large percentage of domestic crops (up to 85% of soybean yields) have DNA that was tweaked in a lab, yet it is nearly impossible to know which food items contain these genetically engineered ingredients. Thankfully new mobile phone apps like 'True Food Shoppers Guide' are making it a bit easier for the consumer to know what she is eating, but this is not enough.
