America, Bad, and Books: Their aesthetic is based on the Knights Templar, Catholic Church, yada yada, but their behavior is insprired by a mix of Communism, "Common Sense Gun Control nuts who think nobody else should have the right to defend themselves, Antifa psychos, and PETA psychos. I was trying to describe them to absolute beginners to politics, who wouldn't know what they were or why Communism is bad Ididn't mention the BW2 stuff because I didn't play that game, but good point. That's what all "Good intentions but bad actions" groups should do: Split themselves into two easily-distinguished halves, an evil half that does evil things without the protection or sense of legitimacy it gets from having good people around, and the good half that does good things without the bad people giving them a bad Permalink embed Speichern Übergeordnet give award m so depressed Icould use Dark Pulse "Common Sense Gun Control" nuts who think nobody else should have the right to defend themselves bro what? What country do you think these games came from? Japan has strict gun laws Anyway, I saw it more as a group trying to enforce their own religion onto others. Permalink embed Speichern Übergeordnet give award What, Japanese games can't mock American lunatics? Also, I guess you could put it like that, but Plasmaism isn't really a proper belief system in the way that Communism is. That religion has a god called equality, a devil called capitalism, inherently sinful people called the Bogusoise, it's a full belief system. I'm so dapressed I oould use Dak Puise What, Japanese games can't mock American lunatics? Oh, they sure mock American gun luantics, alright. Only problem is which side they think are the lunatics. Believing these Pokemon games are mocking gun control is like believing Microsoft made a massively popular game mocking people that believe in democracy. Permalink embed Speichern Übergeordnet give award ike A Boss What are you on about? What are you on? When this is over, can I have some? Nintendo made a game that DIRECTLY ILLUSTRATES the flaws with the idea of a "Disarmed Utopia" You can't "No you" this, you can't "No you" here. Team Plasma are radical leftists who think owning weapons (Or in this case, living weapons) is immoral, and they think their region will become a utopia once they're the only ones left with weapons. Pokemon games are able to see what's wrong with your ideology Historically, every disarmed populace became powerless to do anything about their corrupt government. Except the Japanese, who had to use farm tools like nunchuks as weapons. Even in a world where cute little hamster-rabbit-mice can electrocute you, disarmament still doesn't work Shouldn't you try and learn something from this, instead of trying to get "Revenge for your wounded pride? Permalink embed Spelchern Ubergeordnet give award Im so depressed I could use Dak Puls Nintendo made a game that DIRECTLY ILLUSTRATES the flaws with the idea of a "Disarmed Utopia" That's a great headcanon and all, but literally the only one who ever mentions this facet is Ghetsis, at the end, who reveals that he wanted people to release their Pokemon because then no one would have Pokemon to stop him. Besides that one point, literally no one ever mentions being defenseless as a counter against releasing their Pokemon. It's always 'they're wrong because Pokemon aren't just tools and are also our friends Once again, Japan is a country with a disarmed populace where people openly mock America when asked about their gun laws. You can choose to believe what you want Permalink embed Speichern Übergeordnet give award That isn't just a line from Ghetsis, that is the master plan of Team Plasma, where only the leaders of the region has the power Permalink embed Speichern Ubergeordnet give award SYZekrom Im so depressed I could use Dark Puse The ending often leaves the most memorable impressions, so I don't think you're trying to spin a tale, but this was not the plan for the most of the team. It was a secret known by only Ghetsis and a handful of others, likely Zinzolin considering B2W2. Remember, not even N was aware of this plan, yet he's allowed to freely interact with his Grunts and commands them once or twice. If they knew Ghetsis's motivations, do you think Ghetsis would risk a bunch of idiot grunts from slipping the truth? We see in Black 2 White 2 that Sage Rood was unaware of this, who now lives with Concordia and Concordia and a bunch of x-Plasma members who still believe in N's ideals. They later fight against Ghetsis's Team Plasma in the Giant Chasm so that you can confront him and Kyurem. Once again, going back to the original comment I made, Team Plasma was about how some of the top people hid behind the Catholic Church and as a legitimate empire while holding power over kings and land. Not everyone in Team Plasma was corrupt Permalink embed Speichern Ubergeordnet give award Everything you said is true, it is really a secret known by only Ghetsis and a handful of others, that isn't the motivation of the team, neither does the population suspect about it, but it still the thing that Ghetsis wanted to happen, his final plan after it uses Team Plasma (and mainly N) to take over Unova, becoming the only one (did the other plasma people would be able to use too? I really can't remember) trainer in the entire region Permalink embed Speichern Ubergeordnet give award senses from the This interpretation of Black and White requires Pokemon being treated as little more than tools or weapons, which Team Plasma and the protagonists of Black and White deride in equal measure. I don't think the games were a commentary on socioeconomic policy of Like A Boss That isn't so much an interpretation as it is an aspect I chose to give more importance in my description. Plasma believes Pokemon-owners are evil. They're not. Plasma thinks utopia will be achieved when everyone releases their Pokemon, and lets Plasma be in charge. It won't. Peta believes pet-owners and meat-eaters are evil, insane leftists believe gun owners are evil, but both equally insane groups are wrong. Plasma was created to mock them, while giving the franchise a brilliant villain in the form of N, who directly challenges everything the Pokemon franchise stands for But at the end of the day, a well-intentioned evil group is still evil, whether its boss is a monster manipulating his goons or an insane monster preaching his insanity to his goons Permalinkembed Speichern Übergeordnet give award 1-1 "I am bad and that is good, I will never be good and that's not bad, there's no one l'd rather be than me Permalink embed Speichem give award entfernt] H [entfernt] H entfernt H [entfernt] -1 Haha loved it! Anime, Crime, and God: Oh my God. It all makes so much sense now... This is Team Rocket They are a supposedly evil crime organization founded by this guy named But what are their real motivations? To steal Pokemon, right? Wrong Thats what these guys do in the anime In the games, they don't steal Pokemon. They run a reputable casino Their boss is a respected Gym Leader. They do steal two items from The Silph Corporation: The Silph Scope and the Master Ball. Why do they need these things? This guy Mewtwo, a lab experiment gone horribly awry, is a Psychic type so he's resistant to ghosts Giovanni knew he needed the Silph Scope so he can see the ghosts and capture one to defeat Mewtwo. He also needed the Master Ball to catch Mewtwo if all else fails. The greedy Silph Co. wouldnt part with these things when he asked so he had to steal them. However that isn't the end of the story. New information has come to light The Team Rocket motto reads thusly To protecr the world from devastation To unite al peopies within our nation To denounce the ewis of truth and love To extend our reach to the stars above Hmmm. Sounds familiar? Let's look at the other villainous teams of the Pokemon world How about these guys And these guys Team Magma and/or Team Aqua, depending on your version, want to destroy the world by using two legendary Pokemon to suit their needs Magma want to cover the world with land using Groudon. Aqua want to cover the world with water using Kyogre To protect the world from devastation what about the newest team from the far away Kalos region Team Flare are a group of elitist individuals who are all about style. Their leader, Lysandre, is obsessed with beauty and will destroy the world using an ancient weapon harnessing the power of xemeas or Yveltal to preserve its beauty at all costs. The members of Team Flare look down on others who arent rich or stylish like they are To wwte aWl peoples within our nation Getting it yet? Or should we take a look at these guys Team Plasma, who also dress like medieval knights, are a PETA-esque group founded by Ghetsis and N that want to separate the bond between human and Pokemon. They believe that Pokemon shouldn't be owned by humans and will go to villainous, exploitative ends to free Pokemon from their trainers, even releasing legendary Pokemon such as Zekrom, Reshiram, or Kyurem. This team has sort of a point about the flawed nature of Pokemon training even through their hypocrisy To denounce the ewls of truth and love And finally we come to this team Team Galactic is an evil scientific organization searching for the space Pokemon Palkia and/or the time Pokemon Dialga, depending on your version, in order to recreate the universe by their own means To extend ow reach to the stars above So, Giovanni was aware of the plans of these other teams. And he made it his life's work to stop them He is the real HERO of the Pokemon franchise He is the protector of the Pokemon world and tries to prevent the use of powerful, legendary Pokemon from destroying humanity Well, he wouild have been if you hadn't defeated him. This explains why the other teams gain power in their perspective territories Instead, he is le penniless and stripped of his Gym Leader title which goes to that pompous asshole Blue Gary Oak. Good job, player! Through your actions, you nearly caused the apocalypse 5 different times! Join Funnyma.com to be a Funker nou Giovanni was a good guy
