Jefferson said the name change is a way to honor someone that "fully represents ideals and public stances consistent with what we want our children to believe about themselves.” β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € β €β € The new name of the institution will go into effect for the 2018-19 school year. Before making the transition, the school’s partners must first raise funds to support the name change.

Nothing else. No party, no nothing. This is what she wanted,” said Tanya Morton, Dashai's grandmother. β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β €β € β €β € With the support of her family and school, Dashai launched the β€œProject Give Back 500” initiative to gather water for residents of the U.S. territory.
